First prize winners in the 7th Osaka International Chamber MusicCompetition in 2011, top prize winners and Listeners’ Choice awardrecipients in the 2011 Melbourne International Chamber MusicCompetition, and winners of the Alice Coleman Grand Prize in the 60thannual Coleman Chamber Ensemble Competition in 2006, theinternationally acclaimed Attacca Quartet has become one of America’spremier young performing ensembles. Praised by The Strad for possessing“maturity beyond its members’ years,” they were formed at the JuilliardSchool in 2003 and made their professional debut in 2007 as part of theArtists International Winners Series in Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall.From 2011-2013 they served as the Juilliard Graduate Resident StringQuartet, and for the 2014-2015 season they were selected as the Quartetin Residence by the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York.

Cuarteto Latinoamericano is a world-renowned, multi-Latin Grammywinning string quartet from Latin America. They have toured extensively inEurope, the Americas, Israel, China, Japan and New Zealand. The recipientof a Mexican Music Critics Association award in 1983 and "mostadventurous programming" awards from CMA/ASCAP in 1997, 1999 and

2000, the group has introduced more than a hundred works written forthem and has participated in over a hundred world premieres.

Formed in Mexico in 1981, Cuarteto Latinoamericano was, from 1987 until2008, quartet-in-residence at Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh.They have collaborated with many artists including cellists János Starkerand Yehuda Hanani, pianists Santiago Rodriguez, Cyprien Katsaris, ItamarGolan and Rudolph Buchbinder, tenor Ramón Vargas, and guitarists NarcisoYepes, Sharon Isbin, David Tanenbaum and Manuel Barrueco. WithBarrueco, they have played in some of the most important venues of theUSA and Europe, have recorded two cds, and commissioned guitarquintets from American composers Michael Daugherty and Gabriela LenaFrank. The work by Frank, Inca Dances, won a Latin Grammy in 2009 forBest New Latin Composition.

Under the auspices of the Sistema Nacional de Orquestas Juveniles ofVenezuela, the Cuarteto has created the Latin American Academy forString Quartets, based in Caracas, which serves as a training ground forfive select young string quartets from the Sistema. The Cuarteto visits theAcademy four times a year. The Cuarteto Latinoamericano is representedby Sue Endrizzi Morris and Don Osborne, at California Artists Management.
