Ministry of Interior AairsOriginally before the revolution during the Baptistia dictatorship by architect Aquiles Capablanca in 1953after the revolution this government building has slowly became Ernesto Che Geuvera’s monument in relation to viod of the plaza.

Teotro Nacional Cuba

Jose Marti Memorialthe 109 m (358 ft) tower, designed by a team of architects led by Enrique Luis Varela, is in the form of a ve-pointed star, encased in grey Cuban marble from the Isla de la Juventud. facing over the plaza and towards the mural of Che Guevara on the Ministry of the Interior on the opposite side of the square, is an 18 m (59 ft) white marble statue of Martí carved in situ by Sicre and surrounded by six half-height marble columns. The platform where the statue is located is used as a podium when rallies take place in the Plaza de la Revolución

Ministry of cummunications A large image of revolutionary ghter Camilo Cienfuegos has gone up on a wall of the Ministry of Communications in Havana, near the equally large image of Ernesto Che Guevara that overlooks Revolution Square. It is the work of artist Enrique Ávila, who also authored the Guevara portrait.

Jose Marti National LibraryThe library, which houses Cuba’s patrimony, was moved into its current building in 1958, and it has the modern style of that period. Undoubtedly a major reason for its move away from Habana Vieja is the fact that whenever there is a major storm, the parts of city closest to the ocean are inundated.

The super imposed porticos in the plaza creates a market consumer society without caring a bit about the government buildings around it.

An enclosed perimeter in the controlled plaza creates the potential to celebrate freedom

In theory, whatever is placed in a controlled space, will still be under surveillence and control

The vise versa happens in reality of applying a perimetered space in a controlled area tends to potent freedom within individualsPeople taking refuge aganist Fidel’s Speech.

The Porticos on the street level follow the trend of the sidewalk creating to parallel path ways. the inner path refuges to the arms of the buildings, creating potentials to hide from the open street though still maintaining the view of the street.

individuals on the Blue Path on the Pavement are similar to nomads and wanderers. Freedom to go where ever. the individu-als in the Red path are seeking refuge, similar to cave dweller, potentials for criminal activites and consumerism take shape.

As a extruded platfrom with stairs are added into the Plaza, peoples view are begins to open up into the ministry of defence and destroys its condentaility. democratization

Existing situation in the plaza as Fidel imposes power over the plaza by his podium and the ministrys program is hidden behind its panels

The Capitolio Stairs are seperate itself from the street. the Stairs start to become and architectural furniture for a place for individuals to separate them selves from the street and the street becomes performative. sitting on the stairs does give a safe fealing from the street.

Plaza de Revolucion Jose Marti Memorial over looking the Plaza. Fidel gives his speeches these steps

With applying the Capitolio Stairs, the void becomes preformative, Fidel in the center of the stage giving a speech for an audience, like a tv talk show. Fidel uses the politics of the stairs to impose power over the crowd.

Two Islands, both in equilibruim but can be broken very easily Fidel becomes a performance gure for the people
