Day 01, Arrival Munich

Meet our guide and driver at Munich airport. Bus transfer to the hotel in Munich and check in. In the evening welcome meeting and welcome dinner. Overnight in Munich. (D)

Day 02, Munich

After breakfast enjoy a half day city tour showing you the most impor-tant sights of Munich, Olympic stadium, Marienplatz with the old and new town hall, the Frauenkirche and a visit of castle Nymphenburg. Rest of the day at leisure. In the evening we visit a Bavarian evening with dinner at the world famous Hofbraeuhaus. Overnight in Munich. (B, D)

Day 03, Munich – Neuschwanstein

After breakfast we set off to Schwangau. Passing a picturesque coun-try side we first reach Oberammergau – famous for its Passion Play and beautiful wood carvings. In the early afternoon we visit the castle “Neuschwanstein” one of King Ludwig II fairy tale castles. Overnight in Munich. (B)

Day 04, Munich – Salzburg

Excursion across the Austrian border to the Mozart City “Salzburg”. Our walking city tour includes the Getreidegasse and Mozarts birth-place. Overnight in Munich. (B)

Day 05, Munich – Nuremberg

This morning we experience one of the most famous of the Ger-man vacation Routes – the Romantic Road. Via Augsburg we enjoy an unforgettable bus ride to Nuremberg passing historical cities like Donauwoerth and Dinkelsbuehl. Nuremberg – the town of children’s toys and gingerbread. It is also the birthplace of Albrecht Duerer. We admire Nuremberg’s impressive medieval ramparts and other cultu-ral highlights of Nuremberg during our 1/2 day city tour. Overnight in Nuremberg. (B)

Day 06, Nuremberg – Rothenburg ob der Tauber

“Jewel of the Middle Ages“ – Rothenburg ob der Tauber which we will visit today. This, once “free imperial city” is known over the world and ranks among Germany’s most frequented towns. It lies on a plateau at the intersection of the “Romantic Road” and the “Castle Road”. Below the town flows the Tauber river and this is the reason why the town has the additional “ob” or “above” the Tauber. Our local city guide will show us the most interesting sights of the city. Overnight in Nuremberg. (B)

Day 07, Nuremberg – Wuerzburg

This morning we are heading to Wuerzburg – the baroque city with a southern flair. The great medieval fortress of Marienberg dominates the skyline overlooking the beautiful old town with its architectural masterpieces from many different periods. After a city tour ample time for strolling in the old town. Overnight in Nuremberg. (B)

Day 08, Nuremberg – Pilsen – Prague

Today’s drive takes us through the Czech Republic to Pilsen. We will visit the Pilsen brewery and experience an exciting brewery tour which follows the authentic places where “Pilsner Urquell” has been produced from the beginning. Afterwards we are heading to the capital of the Czech Republic – Prague. Overnight in Prague. (B)

Day 09, Prague

After breakfast our local city guide will show us the most beautiful sights of Prague during a 1/2 day city tour. Afternoon is free for shop-ping. In the evening we enjoy a farewell dinner with local specialities. Overnight in Prague. (B, D)

Day 03, Montreux – Gruyere – Bern – Lucerne

Breakfast at hotel. Bus ride to Gruyere with a visit of a cheese dairy where the masters cheese-makers and their team produce up to 48 wheels of the famous Gruyère a day. Then you will visit a world famous chocolate factory. The Maison Cailler allows you also to taste the various recipes for free. Continue bus ride via Bern to Lucerne with sightseeing en route. Day 04, Lucerne

After breakfast walking sightseeing tour of Lucerne where you will admire its trademark Chapel Bridge and octagonal Water Tower. Along with the Spreuer Bridge and the Musegg Wall with its nine towers. The two-hour tour includes the cutting edge KKL Luzern, culture and convention centre, and the Old Town’s squares and historic facades. In the afternoon optional excursion to Mount Pilatus. Day 06, St. Moritz – Zermatt

After breakfast morning walking tour of Zermatt. Your competent local guide will tell you the history and interesting facts about Zermatt, situ-ated at the foot of the majestic Matterhorn. Mountain railways make it easy to reach the high altitude rambling areas presenting pine-scented mountain forests, calm Alpine lakes and ice-blue glaciers. Afternoon optional excursion to Gornegratt. The journey from Zermatt up to the Gornergrat takes around 40 minutes. The rack railway winds its way up the mountain letting the Matterhorn appear ever larger and more magnificent. Day 01, Arrival Munich – Innsbruck

Arrive in Munich. Meet and Greet with tour escort and after we board our private motor-coach. Following transfer to Innsbruck, Tyrol where we will check into our central located 4*Hotel which will be the base for our next seven nights. There will be time to relax before enjoying a traditional welcome dinner at the hotel to celebrate our arrival. Over-night. (D)

Day 02, Innsbruck – Wattens Swarovski Crystal Worlds

After a leisurely breakfast, we will tour the old town of Innsbruck with our tour manager during which we will see the Hofburg Palace, Innsbruck‘s ornate cathedral, and the famous “Golden Roof“. There will be time to explore the town‘s cobbled streets and shops. Time for lunch on own after the tour. In the early afternoon we board our motor-coach which will bring us to Wattens where we will explore the home of Swarovski Crystal. Afterwards we drive back to Innsbruck. On the way we will stopp at the Bergisel stadium-Olympic ski jump, who offers a spectacular view of the city! Dinner and overnight at our hotel. (B, D)

Day 03, Neuschwanstein Castle – Oberammergau

Breakfast at hotel. Today we focus on Neuschwanstein castle. Germany‘s most famous castle. We drive via the Fernpass to Füssen and will then reach Hohenschwangau and the fairytale castle of King Ludwig II. Gui-ded visit of the castle. Afterwards we continue to Oberammergau. The village is internationally famous for its Passion Play – generally perfor-med every ten years – and for its numerous buildings with tromp l‘oeil (Lueftlmalerei) painted façades. Return to Innsbruck in the late after-noon. Dinner and overnight at our hotel. (B, D)

Day 04, Munich – Oktoberfest

One of the highlights of the holiday awaits us today, we board our motor-coach and travel to Munich. On arrival we will be met by a local guide for a walking tour through Munich‘s historic streets, pointing out sights such as the famous Hofbräuhaus and Marienplatz. Our bus will then take us to the Oktoberfest, where we have organised tables for you in one of the Oktoberfest tents. Included is a hearty Bavarian meal and a thirst-quenching large glass of one of the local brews. The Oktoberfest is the world‘s largest beer festival and attracts millions of people from around the world to the Theresienwiese (Theresa‘s Meadow). The first Oktoberfest was held in Munich in October 1810! Return to Innsbruck in the evening for overnight. (B, L)

Day 05, Dolomite mountains

After breakfast, we will travel south over Europe‘s highest road-bridge, across the Brenner Pass and into Italy. Our journey today takes us to the magnificent Dolomite Mountains. A panoramic scenic drive through the chic resort of Cortina, Val Gardena and the quaint village of Ortisei, with photo stops alongside spectacular alpine meadows, pristine valleys, and sparkling-clear lakes. Time permitting, a stop in Brixen makes the ideal spot for coffee and cake to round-out our day before returning to Innsbruck for dinner and overnight. (B, D)

Day 06, Eagle’s Nest – Lake Koenigsee

Today, we cross back over into Germany for a guided tour of Berchtes-gaden, Hitler‘s mountain retreat and the southern headquarters of the Nazi party on a full day coach trip from Innsbruck.

Eagle‘s Nest is a mountain top lodge built by the Nazis, and is a major drawcard for the region. Located at 6,148 feet (1,834 meters) on top of Mt Kehlstein, the lodge has some of Germany‘s most amazing views of the Alps mountain range. Afterwards, we will have lunch at the Ko-enigsee (King’s Lake), the deepest and cleanest lake in Germany. Boat cruise on Koenigsee. Return to our hotel for dinner and overnight. (B, L, D)

Day 07, Salzburg

One of the highlights of the week will be today, as we travel to the ma-gical city of Salzburg, home of Mozart and „The Sound of Music“. Our tour manager will take us on a tour of the city where we will discover the history behind this beautiful city. Some of this magnificent city’s most famous landmarks include the Dom (cathedral), the Benedictine Abbey of St. Peter, Hellbrunn Pleasure Palace and the Marionetten-theater. Return to Innsbruck in the late afternoon. Tonight we enjoy together special farewell dinner at our hotel. (B, D)

Day 08, Departure Munich

Transfer to Munich airport for flight back home. (B)

Day 07, Luxembourg – Brussels

Breakfast at hotel. After take a bus ride to Luxembourg. The city of Luxembourg is the capital of the smallest country in Europe the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. Its spectacular valleys and plateaus led it to be nicknamed the “Gibraltar of the North“. Visit the Ville Haute (“High City“), the medieval town core and the Ville Basse (“Low City“), si-tuated in the gorge that cuts itself across the city and the most pic-turesque area. Day 08, Brussels

Brussels is the capital of Belgium and the administrative centre of the European Union. This has earned the city the title of the Capital of Europe. Brussels has been given its character by the coexistence of French and Flemish culture, and it is nowadays home to nationa-lities around the world, adding a cosmopolitan flavour to its atmos-phere. The vibrant atmosphere of Brussels is further enhanced by picturesque medieval streets, lively squares, beautiful boulevards, impressive monuments, spacious parks, cosy cafés, charming restau-rants and an active cultural life. Full day city tour to discover Paris. Explore the pomp of the French kings and the spirit of the French Revolution during your walk along the Grand Boulevards with the Grand Palais and Petit Palais. Day 03, Versailles

After breakfast we leave for a day excursion to Versailles. The Château de Versailles stands 15 km southwest of Paris and is one of France‘s noted attractions. Most of the palace was built between 1664 and 1715 by Louis XIV (known as the Sun King). This lavish statement of monar-chical power was to become a symbol of the excess that would lead to the revolution of 1789. There is a small train that ferries visitors from the palace to the Grand Trianon and Petit Trianon, former love nests where both the Sun King and Napoleon enjoyed the company of their mistresses. Day 04, Reims

City tour in Reims. The sacred town of Reims is the capital of the Cham-pagne region and known throughout the world for its sparkling wine, champagne. Visit of the Gothic and feel the spirit of the Middle Ages in the Cathedral (Notre-Dame de Reims) - the French equivalent, for England‘s Westminster Abbey. Reims is one of the later Gothic cathe-drals and renowned for its height. In the afternoon, enjoy this French speciality and learn more about its history and tradition during a wine tasting in a champagne cellar. Dinner and overnight in Reims. (B, D)

Day 05, Nancy – Strasbourg

After breakfast we leave Reims for Nancy. Visit the three famous squares on the esplanade Place de la Carrière, Place Stanislas and Place d‘Alliance, the last two being raised in honour of King Louis XV, the son-in-law of Duke Stanislas, former King of Poland. Futhermore you will see The City Hall which occupies the entire South side of the square, with the Préfec-ture of Meurthe-et-Moselle at the South-East corner; to the East, the Opéra-Theâtre (formerly the bishop‘s palace) and the Fine Arts Museum. Continue to Strasburg for dinner and overnight at hotel. (B, D)

Day 06, Strasbourg

Guided visit of Strasbourg. Explore the capital of the Alsace situated on the border of the Latin and Germanic worlds, it has grown rich in history and culture throughout the centuries. Day 01, Arrival Bucharest

Arrival at Bucharest Airport and transfer to Sinaia. The evening will be spent at an altitude of 1400m as the accommodation and dinner will be at Hotel “Cota 1400”. (D)

Day 02, Bucharest – Peles Castle – Brasov

After breakfast the first stop will be for the visit of Peles Castle – the former residence of the Romanian Royal Family. Then on the way to Bran to visit Bran Castle – a construction of the 13 century, where Dracula is supposed to have spent a fortnight after his first reign in Wallahia. Afternoon will be spent in the medieval centre of Brasov. Overnight and dinner at hotel. (B, D)

Day 03, Brasov – Sighisoara

On the way to Sighisoara you will make a small detour to visit two of the most important monuments of the German Heritage in the area, the monasteries of Prejmer and Haraman. By noon you will be entering the only inhabited medieval site in Europe, Sighisoara. In order to have a real feeling of the place you will get accommodated within the area of the citadel and dinner will be served in the house where Dracula was born. (B, D)

Day 04, Sighisoara – Sibiu

A farewell tour of Sighisoara citadel in the morning and you will be on the way to Medias. Once in Medias you will visit St. Margareta fortified church, built in 1488. You will continue the road to Sibiu and by early afternoon you will be in Sibiu and a first thing to do will be to have a refreshing walk in the centre of the town along the main street with a lot of boutiques and restaurants. Accommodation will be in the centre of the town and dinner will be served at a farmer’s house in Sibiel village, where the plum-brandy is always having a special flavor. (B, D)

Day 05, Sibiu

The whole day will be dedicated to Sibiu, one of the cultural capitals of Europe in 2007. The guided tour along the medieval walls of the citadel and a visit at Brukenthal Museum a walk in the Village Museum admiring houses and wind-mills from all over Transylvania, will be a rewarding experience. Day 06, Sibiu – Cozia – Curtea d. Arges – Bucharerst

Today you will leave Transylvania and on the way to Bucharest the first stop will be at Cozia for a short visit of the monastery built in the XV century. The second stop will be in Curtea de Arges to admire one of the most important monuments of the Romanian architecture built between 1514 – 1571. It is also the place where the Romanian Royal Family is buried. Lunch (included) will be served today for the whole group in order to save time on the way to Bucharest. We arrive in Budapest and meet our european guide and driver. Regar-ded as the Queen of the Danube, the twin cities of Buda and Pest are linked by graceful bridges across this acclaimed river. Our tour director hosts a special welcome dinner this evening, the first of our two nights in Budapest. (D)

Day 02, Budapest

Breakfast is included at the hotel this morning. A local guide joins us for a tour of Budapest. On the Pest side of the Danube River, we see the impressive Hero’s Square. Later in Buda, we explore the medieval district of Castle Hill. We’ll also see the thirteenth century Mattias Church and the Royal Castle. See the Parliament Building, a 200,000 square foot neo-gothic structure that sits along the banks of the Da-nube River. This structure is one of the world’s greatest legislative buil-dings. Day 03, Budapest – Vienna – Schoenbrunn Palace

Our day begins with an included breakfast at our hotel before we de-part for Austria. Along the way, there’s time for lunch during our stop in Bratislava, the cultural heart and capital of Slovakia. After crossing into Austria, we tour Schönbrunn Palace, the favourite residence of the Habsburgs, an imperial family of Austria. It was also one of the child-hood homes of Marie Antoinette. Day 04, Vienna

A local guide joins us this morning for a tour of this marvelous city. We drive along the Ringstrasse which takes us past the Austrian national opera and parliament buildings. Day 05, Vienna – Prague

After breakfast we travel to the Czech Republic and the historic city of Prague. Today is free to discover the city of Prague. Built on seven hills along the Vlatava River, this extraordinary city is known for its incomparable architecture. After your included breakfast, a city tour of Worms, Germany awaits you, including St. Peter’s Cathedral, Site of the Diet of Worms, and Lu-ther Memorial. Upon our arrival in Frankfurt, we meet our European tour guide and driver. Experience your first of many Christmas Markets in Rothen-burg. Day 02, Rothenburg

Following an included breakfast at our hotel, we take a short walking tour of Rothenburg. This market dates back to the 15th century and is one of the oldest in Germany. Each day there are several cultural events ranging from organ concerts to a puppet theatre.Experience this fairytale-like atmosphere with winding passageways, torch-lit walks and the scent of gluhwein (hot spiced wine), at the Christmas Market. Day 03, Nuremberg

After breakfast, we depart for Nuremberg, where a local guide joins us for a tour of the city. The sight of endless Christmas decorations around the city are sure to put a sparkle in our eyes. The Christmas Market here is one of the largest and most well-known in the world and we’ll have the opportunity to browse its color-ful, festive stalls. Day 04, Prague

Today our journey takes us through the winter wonderland of Bavaria to Regensburg. This unique town has an abundance of history, making it a UNESCO World Heritage Site. We have time for lunch and to pay a visit to the many craft stalls including the traditional Christkindl-market and the romantic Christmas Market. Later we arrive in Prague, considered one of the most beautiful cities in the world. Dinner is included at our hotel this evening. (B, D)

First you‘ll make a relaxing walk through the nice old town to the city museum and take the rack railway up to the castle ruin on the Drachenfels. A German legend recounts that Siegfried – the hero of the Niebelungen-lied - killed a dragon living in a cave in the mountain, then bathed in its blood to become invulnerable. Hence, the mountain is named the “Dragon‘s Rock“ – Drachenfels with the beautiful view down to the Rhine and sometimes even to Cologne. Continue to Cologne for dinner and overnight at hotel. (B, D)
