The Auburn Maintenance Facility was undertaken in partnership with John Holland and consulting engineersKellogg Brown Root. The task was to collect 11 million litres of water from a 1-in-100 years storm event over300,000sq.mts. for discharge to a local waterway.

Stormwater is captured by the ballast between the rail tracks and infiltrates through the sand layer into the AtlantisMatrix® (D-Raintank®) modules. Each detention tank is linked in a subsurface ‘ chain of ponds’ arrangementbefore being released into Duck Creek.By utilizing Atlantis stormwater systems, the peak flow of stormwater entering Duck Creek is significantly reducedmaintaining environmental flow, essential for healthy aquatic ecosystems.
