SERIES 2000 RTD GUN CONTROL KIT

DESCRIPTION

The RTD Gun Control Kit provides independent and adjustable temper- ature control for an automatic gun used with a Series 2000 applicator.

The kit is installed in the gun, and is used with either the hose splitter cable (P/N 804 659) or the CTE-2000-1 Gun Control (P/N 275 383).

0 To prevent equipment damage and danger from an overtemperature condition, the RTD Gun Control Kit must be used with either the splitter cable or CTE-2000-1 Gun Control. The kit is not available separately.

Before beginning the installation, locate and identify the parts listed below.

To install the kit, refer to Figure 3 and follow these instructions:

Remove the two screws securing the thermostat to the gun service block. Remove the wire nut connecting the thermostat to the heater. Remove the therrnostat.

Disconnect and lock out input electrical power to the applicator.

The Series 2000 applicator contains energized electrical components with potentials that could be fatal. Disconnect and lock out input electrical power to the applicator before attempting to install this kit.

Remove the cover from the gun service block.

Wear safety gloves (P/N 902 514) to prevent injury from hot gun surfaces.

Disconnect all the cordset wires and remove the cordset. Enlarge the cordset hole in the cover to 0.75 in. if it is not already that size.

Attach the RTD mounting block (1) to the gun service block by threading the two screws (2) through the block and into the holes that previously located the thermostat.

Insert the cordset (4) through the hole in the gun cover and secure it with the cordset nut (5).

Connect the leads from the RTD (3) to the blue leads from the cordset. Use the connectors (6) shipped with the kit.

Connect the leads from the existing heater cartridge to the black wire (18 GA) leads from the cordset. Use the connectors shipped with the kit.

Install the ground wire at the location marked service block.

CTE-2000-1 Gun Control: Replace the cover and complete the installation according to the instructions in Manual 59-39.

Splitter Cable: Plug the gun cordset into the matching connec- tor at the gun end of the hose. Plug the single end of the splitter into the connector on the other end of the hose. each of the connectors on the dual end of the splitter into
