Cars, Dogs and Cows: Interpreting Culturally Rich Realities

In this workshop session Sign Language Inter-
preters will explore participants’ views and ideas
of interpretation followed by a discussion of
semantics, differing world-views, culturally rich
realities and implications for ASL/English inter-
pretation. Participants will discuss and reflect
upon the effectiveness of various strategies for
interpreting culturally rich realities and achieving
successful interpretations.
This workshop is designed for working interpret-
ers (certified or uncertified). Interpreters will be
provided upon request.
