Activity-based lighting
This advanced form of lighting control adapts the lighting to the activ-ity being performed, keeping the focus is more clearly on the person. The correct mixture of static, automated or even dynamic lighting scenes increases well-being and optimises the lit environment. The innovative multisensor detects existing daylight and recognises different objects. Interference factors, such as heat sources that expose the limits of infra-red sensors, no longer play any role. The contrast technology enables a new level of sensor quality.
The ATIVO product family covers various application areas. HighBay sensors have been developed for room heights up to 16 metres; a robust IP64 case gives it the necessary re-silience for industry. A TECTON version can be easily in-serted in the continuous-row lighting. The office variant has been specially designed for low ceiling heights and simulta-neously a maximised detection area. Master sensors con-trol the lighting independently, integrated sensors display their strengths in combination with the Zumtobel LITECOM light management system.

Movement zonesATIVO detects presence in up to five movement zones optimising the light in each respective zone in the desired way.
Light measurement zonesThe illuminance can be controlled to individually define values in five constant light zones that are independent of the movement zones.
Grid consisting of 17 × 11 cellsThe customer-specific definition of all zones is performed flexibly by selecting any number of cells and can be changed at any time.
Sensor that adapts perfectlyATIVO divides the rectangular detection zone into a grid of 17 × 11 cells. Based on these small units, zones can be defined in almost any form and arrangement – in accordance with local use and room lay-out. Thereby, mutually overlapping movement and light measure-ment zones is permitted; luminaire groups can also be freely as-signed. As a result, ATIVO maximises the potential for saving energy and adapts perfectly to the room layout and the various usage areas.

The movement and light measurement zones of an ATIVO contrast sensor can be created as well as adjusted quickly. The software included in the scope of delivery makes shaping and positioning the zones into a simplistic task. Sensors and luminaires communicate with the computer via the DALI line. Time and cost intensive modifications of the installation are thus things of the past.

The complete packageATIVO contrast sensors are equipped with all components for immediate installation and commissioning. HighBay sensors are enclosed in a precisely fitting IP64 case; a high-quality 24 V mains adapter is also installed in the resilient case. LITECOM and ATIVO complement each other perfectly. The automatic selection of a lighting scene that optimally matches the activity bring performed guides lighting management into a user-centric future. The necessary functions for this are made possible by the teamwork of LITECOM and ATIVO.
Counting personsATIVO detects whether a room is empty, one person or
multiple people are present. For example, it can be established whether a meeting room is being used as
individual office or for a meeting.
Distinguishing objects People need appropriate ambient lighting for orientation; in contrast, automated transport systems manage with significantly less lighting. ATIVO distinguishes between person and machine. Even the alignment of a forklift can be detected allowing the system to automatically activate additional rack lighting.
Establishing frequencyATIVO determines the frequency in a room or an area
by counting the persons over a defined time period. Among other things, this finding can be used to reduce the risk of
accidents by providing higher illuminance in frequently travelled passage zones.
Monitoring gatesIf persons pass a gate, ATIVO counts them and takes them into account. The light does not dim down until there are no more persons present behind the light barrier. Using this gate function, the necessity to monitor long passageways completely is a thing of the past.

Self-sufficient single solution or networked intelligenceThere are two different function variants of ATIVO contrast sensors. Master units autonomously control up to five DALI luminaire groups. Integrated in a LITECOM lighting management system, the ATIVO integration model shows its strengths together with the versatile functions of the lighting control system.
