2n d day: Athens- City tour
o Get up ear ly for your f irst breakfast in Athens, ask for a strong tradit ional Greek Coffee and get ready for the most amazing city tour through history that ASIT choose for you and gives you an opportunity to observe the strik ing contrasts that make Athens such a fascinating city!!!!!
o First stop, the Panathenaic Stadium where the f irst Olympic Games of modern t ime s were held in 1896. Then we wil l continue and pass by the Pr ime Minister's residence (ex Royal Palace), guarded by the Euzones in their colorful uniform, t he Temple of Olympian Zeus, the Hadrian's Arch, the Parl iament and the memorial to the Unknown Soldier, the Academy, the Univers ity, the National L ibrary, the Constitution Square (Syntagma). Next stop, Acropolis with the Architectural Masterpieces of the Golden Age of Athens: The Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheion and f inally "the harmony between materia l and spir it", the monument that "puts order in the mind", the Parthenon. Continue and visit the place where at last the statues found their home and admire the wonders of the class ica l era: The new Acropol is museum.

Cape Sounion Tour (afternoon tour) . Drive along the coastal road, passing the wonderful beaches of Glyfada, Vouliagmeni & Varkiza to the most Southern point of Attica, Cape Sounion, where the white marble pi l lars of the Temple of Poseidon stand. On the way, you have a splendid view of the Saronic Gulf and the l itt le is lands offshore. After vis it ing the Temple of Poseidon, you have t ime to walk at leisure on the rocky promontory of S ounion.

2300 years.
o Arrival at Macedonia Airport Thessaloniki. o Transfer to hotel a long with a panoramic tour of the city. o Check in at the hotel . o Departure from the hotel for the best introduction to Thessalonik i. A panorama drive
through the city wil l introduce you to al l the main sites and monuments of exceptional historical importance. With our tour guide we wil l v is i t the Archaeological Museum, walk through the t iny streets with tradit ional houses that lead to the Byzant ine walls and towers and wil l stop at the Citadel to enjoy a panoramic view of Thessaloniki .
o Later, we wil l stop at the early Byzantine basi l ica of Saint Demetrious, built on the ruins of a
Roman bath where the patron saint of the city lost his l i fe . Moreover we wil l have the
chance to see the Ancient Roman Agora (Forum) of Thessaloniki . Addit ional ly, you wil l see
the Internat ional Fair of Thessaloniki grounds and the University area. The triumphal Arch of
Emperor Galerius. The excellent ly preser ved circular “Rotonda”, and there wil l be t ime to
take a look at the Galerius Mausoleum.
o We wil l make a photo stop in front of the White Tower - the symbol of Thessaloniki - that
stands on the waterfront.

I f you feel l ike seeing one museum, you can choose e ither the Archaeological Museum or the Byzantine Museum, equal ly interesting.
“Alexander the Great Tour” Pel la - Vergina – Veria. A magnificent tour into the Macedonian k ingdom. In Pel la the site contains the ruins of the royal family’s summer palace, where, in later
years, Phi l ip I I was assassinated and buried. The discovery of his tomb in 1977 was hai led as
one of the greatest archaeological f inds of the century. The r ich and impressive artefacts
that were unearthed can be viewed there along with the tombs themselves and the amazing
frescoes, rare samples of painting from antiquity. Next stop Vergina, the museum of Vergina
and the ancient royal tombs of Phi l ip, the King of Macedonia and father of Alexan der the
Great (our personal guide wi l l wait for us for the tour) . Veria is the last stop, a picturesque
town with a unique landscape and architecture. We wil l dr ive through the city, see St. Paul ’s
Altar. Take a rest and enjoy a coffee at a tradit ional caf é or a lunch to a local restaurant
(optional) . Walk for a while through the lovely streets of the city, ful l of old Byzantine
churches and unique historical monuments. Return to Thessalonik i .

Mount Athos. Today vis it Mount Athos or “Aghion Oros. In the East leg of Chalk idik i
peninsula heaven meets its counterpart in the wonderful pr ist ine nature. The “Holy
Mountain” has been an autonomous monastic state since the 11th century by order of an
Imperial Byzantine decree. Having reached Ormos Panagias, by coach, board the ship for a
cruise around the coastl ine of the Monastic State of Athos. Enjoy the view of the beautiful
scenery and the Byzantine monasteries of except ional and unique architecture. The cruise
ends as we cross back to Ouranoupol is where you wil l enjoy lunch at a Gr eek tavern (from
