Divani Apollon Palace & Thalasso, Athens | 1st - 3rd November 2016

Leading and Delivering Innovation and

Vision for Retailers and Manufacturers

W elcome to Ceuta’s 11th International Alliance Conference at the Divani Apollon Palace and Thalasso in the beautiful seaside resort near Athens on the 2nd and 3rd November 2016. This unique International annual event is specifically designed to bring together manufacturers, retailers, global outsource sales and marketing service providers (distributors) and key opinion leaders in the Health & Beauty industry to explore how, by working together, we can create mutual business growth opportunities for all.

Industry advisory experts have claimed that within ten years the global OTC healthcare market could double in size as continued demand for affordable medicines, especially in emerging economies, and the creation of entirely new markets in new therapeutic areas generates opportunities for growth. This growth will be driven primarily by preventive health and wellness categories such as vitamins, nutrition, diagnostics, weight management and innovative health and beauty products - fueled by demand from internet- and media-informed health-focused consumers. Consumer health & beauty companies face a call to action to bring a new pace of brand

innovation, supported by a need for collaboration with both retail and distribution partners whilst delivering a greater understanding of the category, the consumer and the shopper.

Our Consumers want faster and easier ways to manage, monitor and improve their health - a trend that will continue to grow. By 2017 it is estimated that 1.7 billion smartphones and tablets will have an m-health app installed. To win in consumer health, companies (whether OTC or consumer products) will need to re-invent or re-orientate their businesses, quickly adapting capabilities to the changing needs of the new consumer. For both traditional OTC and consumer goods companies this could require significant rethinking of a company’s commercial capabilities and operating models. We believe there are distinctive capabilities enabling manufacturers to work closely with both their retail and sales and marketing partners.

Manufacturers and retailers must increase their understanding and connect the available shopper data with brand insight and trade sales data to develop a suitable instore category and strategy with the targeted consumer, and supported with bespoke brand activation mechanics.

Getting to know the shopper and consumer through deeper, advanced analytics that are integrated across the organization will mean moving from retrospective to predictive analytics to generate better, actionable customer insights.

Engaging in one-to-one marketing through innovation that delivers a new experiential customer experience. This capability needs to be underpinned by better shopper and category insights enabling personalized communication when, where and how the consumer desires.

Delivering multi-channel experiences so that consumers can access the brands they want anytime, anywhere and supported by customer-driven, collaborative partners.

Engaging with outsource operating models that can develop existing and white space markets with proven, flexible, cost-effective local outsource partners.

Focusing on winning in high-value categories and high potential markets. High performers are continuing to invest in M&A in growth categories and emerging markets and the outsourcing of non-core businesses and markets to prioritise core brands.

These dynamics are leading to a significant increase in both large and smaller manufacturers embracing and implementing outsource strategies to partner with proven outsourcing providers (like Ceuta and our alliance partners). These sales and marketing outsource providers can deliver cost effective professional solutions, not just with field sales forces, but with support and added-value services across all areas of brand development - from Shopper Insight, Brand Insight and Trade Insight and ultimately delivering optimisation of sales and profit growth.

Embracing these areas this year’s conference agenda includes a prestigious line up of speakers covering topics such as retail insight, the global economy and how will it affect us, latest trends in OTC Health & Beauty, understanding the future of M&A activity, the new generation of outsourcing and leadership and global retail expectations . We will also be sharing examples of exciting new product opportunities and how the brand owners, outsourcing these brands to the Ceuta Alliance, could deliver incremental sales and profit growth.

The team at Ceuta look forward to welcoming you to Athens in November, for what promises to be another successful, thought provoking and

enjoyable event.

Keith Garrity - Director of International Business Development
