LIGHT\TRACE No. 2

ATARA design combina architettura, arte e design e focalizza la sua attenzione su oggetti e

sistemi che sfruttano LED e luce solare per illuminare gli ambienti. Questo permette di creare

un’atmosfera unica sia nelle aree chiuse sia in quelle all’aperto. Cercare di unire tecniche e

materiali diversi provenienti da una serie di settori andando a creare un unico contesto,

sembra essere un compito particolarmente allettante per ATARA design. Ed è proprio in

questo modo che nascono i singoli prodotti e i concept per interni e di spazio.

Le sottili fibre ottiche di LIGHT\TRACE No. 2 si “tessono” il cammino attraverso la struttura a

maglia e seguono la rotazione dei corpi a forma di spirale. In questo modo si crea un effetto

dinamico tra forma e direzione della luce. Come tutti gli oggetti della serie LIGHT\TRACE,

anche questo permette ai raggi solari di illuminare la stanza. Quando il cielo è di colore rosso,

LIGHT\TRACE No. 2 riesce a portare il colore anche all’interno. La tecnologia ibrida combina

la luce del sole con i LED durante le ore serali e notturne, permettendo non solo di

risparmiare energia, ma creando anche un’atmosfera particolare. Grazie a un varialuce è

possibile controllare la potenza d’illuminazione.

ATARA design combines architecture, art and design and focuses on light objects that

brighten up rooms using sunlight and LED. This creates a unique atmosphere both indoors and

outdoors. Connecting different techniques and materials from a variety of areas and placing

them in a new context is particularly appealing to ATARA design. This gives rise to individual

products, interiors and spatial concepts.

The fine fibre optics of LIGHT\TRACE No. 2 weave their way along the mesh structure and

follow the rotation of the spiral-shaped body. This creates a dynamic effect between form

and directed lighting. Like all objects in the LIGHT\TRACE series, this light object makes

rooms light up with sunlight. When the sky is red, LIGHT\TRACE No. 2 brings this natural red

colour into the room too. The hybrid technology combines sunlight by day with LED at night.

Not only does this save energy, it creates a special atmosphere too. A dimmer allows you to

control the illuminating power.

In origine, l’architetto Gregor Eichinger ha progettato li-lith per il settore della gastronomia

viennese di alto livello. Caratteristiche specifiche della sedia in legno sono la sua estrema

leggerezza e i suoi braccioli, delicati e leggermente curvati che, insieme all’ampia superficie

di seduta, garantiscono alle signore spazio a sufficienza anche per appoggiare comodamente

le borse. li-lith può essere prodotta in molti colori e motivi diversi e, di conseguenza, può

essere facilmente inserita in ogni ambiente.

Since it was founded in 1921, BRAUN Lockenhaus has become one of Austria’s biggest

complete furniture suppliers. The furniture manufacturer, based in the state of Burgenland,

impresses by creating commercial furniture such as seating or tables and furniture with

individual interior fittings – all manufactured with sophisticated “made in Austria”

craftsmanship. DIE SCHOENHEIT complements the portfolio with 13 furniture collections

created by renowned designers. In presenting li-lith in Milan, BRAUN Lockenhaus will

showcase a premium product built by architects.

BRAUN Lockenhaus is a subsidiary of SCHNEEWEISS AG.

Architect Gregor Eichinger originally designed li-lith for Vienna’s high-end catering trade. The

wooden chair’s characteristic features include its lightness and delicate, curved armrests,

which – together with the wide seat – makes for secure storage of personal items. li-lith can

be designed in a multitude of colours and decors, can be combined in a variable manner and

can be adapted to existing room concepts.

Caelum Development

Happenstance

Caelum Development progetta e crea un’ampia gamma di oggetti in standard diversi, dove è

proprio il processo di sviluppo di altissima qualità a determinare il risultato. La dimensione

del progetto è irrilevante; ciò che conta è che lo sviluppo sia “plasmato”. Che si tratti di un

elemento d’arredo, di una casa o di un complesso di edifici in ambito urbano, il risultato è il

prodotto di un processo multi-strato che si focalizza sull’essenziale, in termini di design,

funzione e materiale. Lo sviluppo è un processo “sensuale”, che dà piacere, ed è qui che

prende forma la confluenza fra l’utente finale, lo spazio e l’oggetto.

La serie di mobili Happenstance combina design, artigianato e materiale, in quanto realizzata

con certi tipi di legno selezionati. A parte alcune superfici scelte con la massima cura e

attenzione, come pelle e linoleum, Happenstance utlizza solo parti solide ben definite per

spingersi ai limiti della produzione. Con un aspetto “fluttuante” ma stabile, chiari contorni e

dettagli elaborati vengono combinati per creare un mobile dal design senza tempo, dove

risaltino sia la sensazione sia il calore del legno.

Caelum Development develops a wide range of objects in a variety of standards, where

comprehensive, high-quality development determines the result. The size of the project is

irrelevant; all that matters is that the development is shaped. Be it a piece of furniture, a

house or a building complex in an urban setting, the result is a product of a multi-layered

process that concentrates on the essentials in terms of design, function and material.

Development is a sensuous process, where the confluence between the user, the space and

the object is brought to life.

The Happenstance series of furniture combines design, craftsmanship and material made of

specially selected types of wood. Apart from carefully chosen surfaces such as leather and

linoleum, Happenstance only uses well-shaped solid parts that push the limits of

manufacturing. Creating a floating yet solid appearance, clear contours and elaborate details

combine to create timelessly designed furniture that is infused with both the feel and the

warmth of timber.

Sono stati i numerosi viaggi a ispirare Franz Moser nello sviluppo della sua cucina mobile

Camp Champ, che permette di preparare piatti gustosi utilizzando ingredienti freschi in

qualsiasi momento e dovunque ci si trovi: durante un viaggio avventura o in un fine settimana

trascorso all’aperto. L’innovativa cucina Camp Champ è una struttura di alto livello, flessibile,

autonoma e mobile ed è in grado di soddisfare virtualmente qualsiasi richiesta quando ci si

trova all’aperto; in campeggio, in un safari lodge, in un camper oppure per una cena a lume

di candela, per un party sulle sponde del lago o per un semplice pranzo nel giardino di casa.

Camp Champ: una scatola magica che offre un posto a sedere in più ma anche una piccola,

solida cucina dotata di tutte le attrezzature di base. Non si è scesi ad alcun compromesso per

quanto riguarda, appunto, le attrezzature in dotazione o i materiali usati. È stata costruita in

allows users to prepare tasty dishes from fresh ingredients whether they’re on an adventure

trip or a weekend in the great outdoors. The innovative Camp Champ is synonymous with

Sideboard SB11

Il designer e architetto Christian Kröpfl e il marchio palatti sono divenuti ormai sinonimo di

arredamento di design di alto livello destinato a una clientela particolarmente esigente,

poiché associano con cura criteri quali il processo creativo, la funzionalità e la più alta qualità.

Il focus principale è la combinazione di legno massiccio e acciaio inserita in design diversi.

La credenza SB11 è stata ideata come complemento al tavolo KT11 presentato lo scorso anno.

Tra due vani orizzontali realizzati in legno massiccio, vengono sistemati alcuni contenitori,

variabili in base alle necessità, che combinati vanno a formare un pezzo unico. I singoli

contenitori scivolano sulla leggera struttura sottostante in acciaio. La credenza è disponibile

in diverse lunghezze e con diversi elementi e, semplicemente impilando più strati l’uno

sull’altro, può essere trasformata in una scaffalatura.

Designer Christian Kröpfl and the palatti brand are synonymous with high-quality designer

furniture for discerning individuals and combine criteria such as design, functionality and the

highest level of quality. The primary focus lies on the combination of solid wood and steel in

a variety of designs. With modern designs and the use of natural and sustainable materials,

palatti offers an attractive range of products for the dining and living areas.

The sideboard SB11 was developed as a complement to the table KT11 unveiled last year.

Individual boxes are slid between horizontal solid wood compartments as required and are

constructively combined to form a single unit. The box floats on top of a delicate steel lattice

framework substructure. Available in several lengths and with different elements, it can

easily be converted into a storage rack by stacking multiple layers on top of one another.

eL Be Keramik Dekor

Mr. Wong

Con il nome eL Be, Lena Bauernberger realizza decorazioni per ceramiche e le produce in

piccole serie a Melk, nella regione della Bassa Austria. Dipinge lingotti in ceramica con una

speciale tecnica tradizionale, inoltre combina la ceramica con legno, vetro, tessuto ed

elementi in metallo. In questo modo riesce a produrre oggetti d’uso quotidiano davvero unici,

caratterizzati dalla semplicità nell’aspetto e nell’utilizzo, realizzati con humor e attenzione

ai dettagli. Molti dei suoi lavori possono essere personalizzati su richiesta del cliente.

Mr. Wong è un vaso ideato in particolare per le orchidee, con un supporto rettangolare

realizzato in ottone, rame o argento che ha due funzioni: sostiene il vaso all’interno del

coprivaso e garantisce il deflusso dell’eventuale acqua in eccesso, poiché le orchidee soffrono

il ristagno idrico. La parte superiore della struttura in metallo, intanto, sorregge i delicati

germogli della pianta. Il supporto può essere sistemato e bloccato in numerosi modi diversi,

per evitare che si rovesci e per facilitare le manovre di inserimento del vaso con la pianta

all’interno del coprivaso.

Under the company name eL Be, Lena Bauernberger designs patterns for pottery and produces

them in small series in Lower Austria. She paints on ceramic ingots in a special traditional

technique and she also combines ceramic with leather, wood, glass, textile and metal

elements. Unique everyday objects are thus produced, characterised by simplicity in

appearance and use, made with humour and attention to detail. Many works can be

personalised to customers request.

Mr. Wong is a pot designed especially for orchids with a built-in rectangular frame made of

bent brass, copper or silver bars. This frame has two functions. It supports and holds the plant

pot within the pot to ensure that any extra water drains away, since orchids cannot tolerate

waterlogging. The upper part of the metal frame, meanwhile, supports the delicate plant

shoots. The frame can also be locked in an infinitely variable manner, which prevents the

frame from toppling over and makes it easier to place the plant pot into the ceramic pot.

ertl.novak

crystallight CL 1

ertl.novak crea prodotti innovativi, sollevando questioni che riguardano sia la produzione sia

l’aspetto sociale, laddove l’arte incontra il design. Le risposte ai quesiti si svelano attraverso

un meticoloso lavoro nello studio e in laboratorio e in collaborazione con professionisti dei

diversi campi. Vengono offerti prodotti finiti, ma anche servizi legati al design e grazie

all’ampia gamma di prodotti e ai requisiti di infrastruttura, l’offerta raggiunge sia privati che

aziende. ertl.novak vive e lavora a Vienna.

Crystallight CL1 è un lampadario che abbina la naturale cristallizzazione con il perfetto

artigianato per creare un oggetto che emana luce brillante. ertl.novak ha sviluppato una

procedura per coltivare in laboratorio i dischi di cristallo per il lampadario CL1. Poiché il

processo di crescita è soggetto alle leggi della natura, si vanno a creare cristalli diversi che,

Design studio ertl.novak creates solutions to technical and social issues at the interface of art

and design. It produces answers to these questions by working in its test laboratory and

collaborating with professional partners. Both finished products and design-oriented services

are on offer to private individuals and companies alike. The ertl.novak team lives and works

in Vienna.

The crystallight CL 1 lamp combines natural crystal growth and perfect craftsmanship to

produce a brilliant entity. ertl.novak developed a procedure to grow the crystal discs for CL 1

in its in-house laboratory. Since the growing process is subject to the laws of nature, during

the process unique crystals that make each and every lamp a one-of-a-kind product are

created. The semi-transparent crystals scatter the light emitted by the integrated LED

modules and produce atmospheric, concentrated light that can be used to illuminate

everything from living rooms to restaurants.

Nel corso degli anni di attività, grazie all’intensa collaborazione con designer di tutto il

mondo, LEITNER LEINEN si è trasformata in un marchio di richiamo internazionale. Ciò

nonostante l’azienda non ha mai perso di vista le sue radici. Oggigiorno, LEITNER è sinonimo

di filati nobili e naturali e pone particolare attenzione all’impatto che possono avere i colori.

Delicate sfumature di una vasta gamma di colori permettono di combinare in modo armonioso

fra loro tutti gli articoli della collezione.

Con il design Friuli, LEITNER sta riportando in vita un vero tesoro dell’arte tessile. Questo

jacquard in puro lino prende spunto da una stola liturgica realizzata tra il 1730 e il 1740 che,

al momento, si trova nella Chiesa di Ognissanti a Sutrio (Udine).

Le sue decorazioni artistiche, nel dettaglio viticci dalle forme sinuose, fiori e foglie a spirale,

sono molto tipiche del design di epoca barocca. LEITNER ne ha creato una copia perfetta per

la sua collezione: i suoi tessuti rendono ancora più raffinato l’aspetto di una tavola elegante o

l’ambiente in un soggiorno.

Intense development work and collaboration with designers from around the world has

enabled LEITNER LEINEN to transform into an international brand over the years. But the

company has never lost sight of returning to its roots. Nowadays, LEITNER is synonymous with

natural and the finest yarns and pays particular attention to the impact that colours have.

Subtle shades in a wide variety of colours mean all the pieces in the collection can be

harmoniously combined with one another.

With the Friuli design, LEITNER is reviving a true textile art treasure. This pure-linen jacquard

is based on a sacred linen stole that was made between 1730 and 1740 and is today owned by

the Chiesa di Ognissanti church in Sutrio, Italy. Its artistically curved embellishment,

consisting of tendrils, flowers and spiralling foliage, is very typical of baroque design. LEITNER

has created a perfect replica for its collection that will visually enhance the appearance of

any stylish table or the ambience in any living room.

Franz West Privatstiftung

Sinnlos

La Franz West Privatstiftung (Fondazione privata Franz West) è stata fondata nel 2012. Dal

2014 produce una serie di mobili-scultura in edizioni annuali limitate. Le sculture sono

realizzate a mano su richiesta nell’ex studio dell’artista sotto la direzione di quelli che un

tempo erano i suoi dipendenti. I singoli pezzi vengono numerati e certificati per poi essere

venduti solo in determinate gallerie.

Traendo ispirazione dalle opere filosofiche di Ludwig Wittgenstein, Franz West non ha

sviluppato solo enormi sculture da esterno, ma anche il design di un semplice attaccapanni.

The Franz West Privatstiftung was founded in 2012. Since 2014, it has been producing a select

group of furniture sculptures by Franz West in annually limited editions. The sculptures are

handcrafted upon request in the artist’s former studio under the direction of Franz West’s

former employees. The individual pieces are numbered and certified. They are sold by

selected galleries.

Inspired by Ludwig Wittgenstein’s senseless loop, Franz West developed not only oversized

outdoor sculptures, but the design of a coat rack too.

Gabriel Forcher Tischlerei

Fondata nel lontano 1928 da Gabriel Forcher Senior, da oltre 85 anni l’azienda Forcher si

dedica all’artigianato del legno. Quando la cultura dell’abitare deve soddisfare le esigenze di

spazio personale, facendo incontrare l’artigianato tradizionale e la tecnologia più avanzata e

mettendo l’estetica al servizio del design funzionale, ecco che nascono i mobili Forcher. La

bellezza racchiusa nella forma e nella funzione diventa il simbolo dello spazio libero

personale e, contemporaneamente, contribuisce a creare un senso di sicurezza. Emozione,

creatività, stile e perfezionismo, per qualcuno, possono essere solo parole: ma per Forcher

rappresentano una filosofia.

Il tipico design scandinavo incontra l’artigianato tirolese. Forme ludiche sono affidate alle

mani esperte degli artigiani e presentano un equilibrato mix di materiali. Grazie alla sua

imbottitura bombata e dall’aspetto delicato, Veith sembra essere una struttura molto

leggera; le gambe sottili ma con un’angolazione rivolta all’esterno, conferiscono un senso di

stabilità “tirolese” alla struttura.

For 85 years (the company was founded in 1928 by Gabriel Forcher Senior), Forcher has been

practising joinery. Where home decor is coupled with personal space, where traditional

craftsmanship is combined with cutting-edge technology and aesthetics combines with

functional design, the product is Forcher furniture. Beauty in form and function is an

indication of personal space that at the same time creates a haven of security. Emotion,

creativity, style and perfectionism may be buzzwords elsewhere but with Forcher they are

the philosophy.

Scandinavian design meets Tyrolean craftsmanship. Playful shapes meet expert handicraft and

an honest mix of materials. Due to the cambered and thus very delicate-looking upholstery,

Veith appears very light-footed, but never loses its Tyrolean stability due to the outward

angle of its legs.

Georg Oehler Design

Arts on Crafts / Arts on Crafts #1

Dal 2006 Georg Œhler si occupa di design d’interni e d’arredo a livello internazionale. Dopo

aver completato il corso di laurea in architettura, ha acquisito una notevole fama attraverso

l’esposizione dei suoi progetti d’arredo. Nel 2013 ha fondato lo studio a Londra, il “Georg

Œhler Design”. Il suo approccio al design combina materiali naturali e profonde storie. I suoi

progetti di design d’interni comprendono arredi per abitazioni, ristoranti e uffici a Londra, in

Austria e a Singapore. Direttore artistico di MK Illumination, fornisce ispirazione a un team di

20 designer.

Arts on Crafts è una serie di oggetti nati dalla collaborazione fra artisti e designer. Il dialogo

fra le due discipline è una parte molto importante del processo. Il primo pezzo della serie è

un mobile bar che associa il lavoro artigianale del legno con la fotografia di Mads Perch, un

fotografo danese che vive a Londra. I dettagli in legno di quercia e ottone permettono al

Georg Œhler has worked internationally in interior and furniture design since 2006. After

completing his degree in Architecture, he built up an excellent reputation for himself by

exhibiting his furniture designs. In 2013, he founded his London-based studio, Georg Œhler

Design. His design approach combines natural materials and deep stories. His interior design

projects include furnishings, restaurants and offices in London, Austria and Singapore. He is

Artistic Director of MK Illumination, where he inspires a team of 20 designers.

Arts on Crafts is a series of objects created from the collaboration between artists and

designers. The dialogue between the two disciplines is an important part of the process. The

first piece in the series is a bar cabinet that combines woodworking and photography by Mads

Perch, a London-based Danish photographer. Details in oak and brass allow the cabinet to

open up into a large canvas for the photography.

glass-inspiration sviluppa e produce vetri di design, caratterizzati dal fatto che fra le lastre di

vetro vengono laminati numerosi materiali diversi (attualmente oltre 300, anche in diverse

combinazioni). Inoltre, glass-inspiration sviluppa lampade, radiatori in vetro, fontane a parete

d’acqua, immagini su tela e fotografiche con retroilluminazione e altri prodotti di design. I

materiali laminati tra i vetri sono, tra gli altri, erba naturale, foglie, madreperla,

impiallacciature e trucioli di legno, tessuti, trucioli di metallo e carbone, pellicole stampate,

schiuma di alluminio, cristalli Swarovski, pellicola acrilica dicroica, pellicola privaglass e

molto altro.

eccentric è un corpo di forma circolare composto da strati multipli di anelli interni in vetro

laminato, trasparente e sagomato. È dotato di un pannello d’illuminazione e strisce LED ed è

circondato da un bordo in acciaio inossidabile verniciato a polvere o placcato oro con appositi

dispositivi di sospensione.

glass-inspiration develops and produces laminated designer glasses, where a variety of

materials (currently more than 300, in combinations too) are laminated between the glass. In

addition, glass-inspiration develops lamps, glass with integrated heating, waterwalls, canvas

and photo images with backlighting and other designer products. The materials laminated

between the glass include natural grass, leaves, mother-of-pearl, wooden veneers, spongy

metal, wooden meshwork, fabrics, metal and carbon meshwork, printed films, aluminium

foam, Swarovski crystals, dichroic foils, privaglass films and much more besides.

eccentric is a round body consisting of multiple layers of laminated, plotted and transparent

rings inside. It is equipped with an appropriate light panel and all-round LED strips and is

surrounded by a powder-coated or gold-plated stainless steel rim with suspension attachment.

GRETL è uno studio di architettura, interior design e design con sede a Vienna, fondato da Kai

Merkert.

vassoio Sunday Morning è perfetto per reggere anche oggetti pesanti, dando un aspetto

splendido a quelli più leggeri. La superficie e i manici del vassoio sono realizzati usando una

singola tavola di legno massiccio, lavorata e sagomata in modo che consapevolmente gioca

con la direzione delle venature del legno e con le presunte contraddizioni costruttive. La

naturale posizione delle mani che trasportano il vassoio è ciò che maggiormente influenza la

geometria dei manici. Si appoggiano perfettamente nel palmo della mano in tutta la loro

profondità, distribuiscono equamente il peso e vengono valorizzati dalle superfici lisce e

oliate.

Do you enjoy Sunday morning breakfast or a cup of tea while reading the newspaper? The

Sunday Morning is perfect for serving heavy items and making light ones look great. The tray’s

surface and handles are made of a single piece of solid wood board and are shaped in a way

that consciously plays with fibre direction and apparent constructive contradiction. The

natural position of the hands when carrying a tray is what influences the geometry of the

handles. They sit perfectly in the palms of the hand across their entire depth, distribute the

weight evenly and cut a flattering figure with their smoothed and oiled surfaces.

Appoggiare le chiavi, appendere la borsa e togliersi la giacca sono normali gesti che fanno

parte dei rituali quotidiani. Steckn accoglie gli inquilini e gli ospiti dando loro il benvenuto e

permette di appendere oggetti a ogni altezza e, di conseguenza, a ogni età. Quando non è

utilizzato, sembra una scultura minimalista.

Solo una volta aperto ci si rende conto di quanta capacità offra questo appendiabiti in uno

spazio ridottissimo. Può essere posizionato vicino alla parete oppure essere utilizzato come

fosse una sorta di divisorio semi-trasparente. Steckn, puntone a compressione, è realizzato in

legno e prodotto su misura in base all’altezza della stanza. Viene messo in tensione fra il

pavimento e il soffitto grazie a un sistema di filettatura integrato in legno di pero, fino a

quando il morbido sistema di blocco scatta tenendolo in posizione.

Putting down your keys, hanging up your bag and taking off your jacket are part of the daily

ritual of coming home. The Steckn welcomes occupants home and enables hanging at any

height and for any age. When it is not being used, it looks like a minimalist sculpture. When in

use, it reveals extensive storage capacity in the smallest of spaces. It can be positioned near

to the wall or as a semi-transparent room divider. Being a compression strut, the Steckn is

made of wood and manufactured for room height. Between the floor and the ceiling, it is

turned in a tense state using the integrated pear wood thread until the soft lock system snaps

into place.

This elegant armchair with soft curves and feminine details has a tender, or “soferl” (so they

say in Vienna), appearance about it: the front legs that carry and surround the seat, the

distinctively light cut-outs in the back and the seat shell’s curves and tapers make for a

stylish and enjoyable sitting experience.

The modern interpretation of grandpa’s wing chair provided the starting point for the Alpin

Tischlerei Josef Prödl is a family-run joinery company based in Styria and managed by the

second and third generations. Prödl was founded in 1956 and employs 50 exceptional

members of staff. The company has specialised in producing furniture – both for the private

and the professional sector. It has a growing presence abroad, particularly in London. Since

Prödl only does a mere 30% of planning by itself, it is increasingly working together with

designers and architects. The company also refers to itself as being a “partner of architecture”

for this very reason, because its objective is to cater to the space and the people living in it

and to find the perfect solution.

Jürgen Steineder studia Design industriale presso l’Università di Arti Applicate a Vienna.

Focalizza la sua attenzione e il suo lavoro sull’influenza che dispositivi e manufatti tecnologici

hanno sulla nostra quotidianità. Dopo aver esplorato diversi approcci al design alla Facoltà di

Arte a Berlino e alla Design Academy di Eindhoven, attualmente è impegnato nel

conseguimento del Master. Inoltre è coinvolto in diversi progetti individuali e partecipa a una

collettiva di design.

Aquaponics è il risultato della simbiosi fra piante e pesci in un ciclo idrologico chiuso.

Permette di coltivare piante aromatiche, insalata e verdure tutto l’anno. Le piante utilizzano

gli escrementi dei pesci come sostanza fertilizzante e nutriente; l’acqua viene ripulita

attraverso l’assorbimento dei nutrienti e viene arricchita di ossigeno. Questo crea un ciclo

chiuso che, praticamente, non necessita di energia aggiuntiva e che è auto-pulente. Habitat è

il primo sistema aquaponics realizzato esclusivamente con materiali di alta qualità quali

ceramica, vetro e sughero.

Jürgen Steineder studies Industrial Design at the University of Applied Arts Vienna. Within his

artistic practice he focuses on the influence of technical devices and artifacts on our daily

lives. After exploring different design approaches at the University of the Arts in Berlin and

the Design Academy Eindhoven, he is currently graduating from his master's degree. He is also

working on various individual projects and is part of a design collective.

Aquaponics is the symbiosis of plants and fish in a closed water cycle. It allows us to grow

herbs, lettuce and vegetables all year round. The plants use the fish’s excrement as a

fertilizer and nutrient. The water is cleaned due to the plants taking up the nutrients and is

oxygenated too. This creates a closed cycle that requires next to no additional energy and is

self-cleaning. Habitat is the first aquaponics system made exclusively of high-quality

materials such as ceramic, glass and cork.

KA MA INTERIOR DESIGN / 3D LIGHT DESIGNED BY KARIN BINDER / PRODUCED BY KA MA INTERIOR DESIGN Lo Studio ka.ma interior design è stato fondato da Karin Binder dopo aver concluso il suo

percorso di studi di architettura di interni alla New Design University di St. Pölten.

Lo studio si occupa principalmente di progettazione di oggetti funzionali e utili e

d’illuminazione, collauda e utilizza materiali re-interpretati.

Durante la fase di progettazione della lampada 3D, la designer ha giocato con la composizione

di oggetti tridimensionali. Tre diverse forme a diamante creano il profilo di un “cubo di luce”.

L’aspetto del cubo cambia in base al punto di vista e si va a creare un’illusione ottica di

forma tridimensionale. Ogni singola luce può essere ruotata e sistemata in singoli gruppi ed è

espandibile. Grazie alla grande varietà di colori delle calde luci a LED, ogni lampada, in

sostanza, è unica. È disponibile in ottone lucido o, su richiesta, in acciaio verniciato a polvere

o in legno.

Studio ka.ma interior design was founded by Karin Binder after she completed her degree in

Interior Design at the New Design University St. Poelten. The studio primarily focuses on

designing functional, usable objects and individual lighting. It both tests and implements the

use of re-interpreted materials.

3D Light combines three-dimensional objects in a playful way. Three separate diamond shapes

form the outline of a “cube of light”. The appearance of this cube changes as you move

around, creating an optical illusion of a three-dimensional form. Each individual light can be

rotated and arranged in individual groups, and can be extended however you see fit. The

warm LED lights in a wide array of different colours make the lamp highly unique. It is

available in polished brass or, optionally, powder-coated steel or wood.

Tension Mirror

Le opere di Katharina Eisenkoeck’s, in qualche modo, recuperano le antiche tecniche di

artigianato e le riportano in un contesto moderno. Per la designer, i processi produttivi degli

oggetti di design, la lavorazione e la nobilitazione dei materiali sono caratteristiche di

importanza fondamentale. Attraverso la sperimentazione con materiali e forme, crea oggetti

non solo belli, ma anche di lunga durata. Nel suo studio “EKDESIGN” a Londra, Katharina

Eisenkoeck progetta e realizza a mano tutti i suoi prodotti.

Tension Mirror mostra la relazione fra i materiali naturali e artificiali. Lo specchio è

materials processing and refinement, are crucially important to her. By experimenting with

materials and shapes, she creates objects that are both one of a kind and long lasting. Ms

Eisenkoeck’s studio, EKDESIGN, is located in London, where she hand-makes all her products.

The Tension Mirror illustrates the relationship between natural and machine-made materials.

The mirror sits on the edge of an alabaster base and is only held in place by a brass hinge.

The three materials create an interplay of tension, gravity and a variety of surface textures.

The Tension Mirror is an investigation into machine-based production and traditional manual

production. The mirror, held in place with a thin brass hinge, seemingly carves itself into the

stone, just before it might be pulled down by gravity.

The design of the 3-Fold Mirror is based on the shape of a traditional handheld mirror. The

piece consists of a concrete base, the mirror and a leather sleeve. Ms Eisenkoeck’s recurring

multifunctional design concept is illustrated in the folding, standing and hanging positions.

The arm allows the mirror to be positioned in three possible ways: standing upright, folded in

and leaning back, or hanging on the wall. The design was developed from the idea of creating

a versatile handheld mirror. A simple rotating system transforms the mirror in line with the

user’s needs.

Klemens Schillinger

Pac Tables

Le opere di Klemens Schillinger rispecchiano la cultura della „riduzione dei materiali”.

Attraverso il semplice uso di elementi costruttivi ed estetici, crea oggetti che colpiscono per

l’austero charm, per l’uso di materiali ridotto al minimo e per l’enfasi poetica.

Klemens Schillinger ha studiato alla Facoltà di Scienze applicate Joanneum di Graz e al Royal

College of Art di Londra. Dopo la laurea ha lavorato a progetti per aziende internazionali tra

le quali, solo per citarne alcune, Kvadrat e Hem, ma anche per la più tradizionale azienda

viennese A.E. Köchert.

PAC è una collezione composta da tre tavolini di dimensioni diverse. Ogni tavolino è formato

da un corpo in MDF laccato opaco con una sezione inferiore, dove viene inserita una lastra di

granito che serve per dare stabilità e mantenerlo in sede. Sono disponibili tre dimensioni

diverse in modo tale che il prodotto possa essere inserito perfettamente in ogni soggiorno.

Inoltre, la parte inferiore, può essere utilizzata anche per contenere libri e riviste.

Klemens Schillinger’s works are synonymous with a product culture of frugality. By simply

handling constructive and aesthetic components, he creates objects that are virtually self-

evident in their austere charm, minimal material usage and poetic emphasis. Mr Schillinger

studied at the Joanneum University of Applied Sciences in Graz and at the Royal College of

Art in London. Since graduating, he has worked on projects for international companies such

as Kvadrat and Hem, to name but a few examples, but also for the traditional Viennese

company A.E. Köchert.

The Pac Tables are a collection of three differently sized coffee and side tables. The tables

consist of a matt lacquered MDF body with a lowered section, where a granite slab is

inserted. This is used to keep the tables sturdy. The tables come in three different sizes so

that they fit in well in the living room. Books and magazines can be stored in the lowered

section too.

KLOMFAR aqua wave Klomfar è una tradizionale azienda familiare austriaca che da oltre 55 anni si occupa di

commercio internazionale all’ingrosso e al dettaglio di sanitari. È specializzata in accessori

esclusivi, sanitari e rubinetterie e tessili per bagno.

Con l’arrivo di Martin Klomfar, figlio del fondatore Helmut, per l’azienda ha avuto inizio una

nuova era. Da qualche tempo, Klomfar sviluppa anche prodotti propri, tra i quali la

nuovissima serie da bagno aquawave.

Il designer Philipp Aduatz ha utilizzato la filosofia Panta Rhei per creare mobili che, nelle

idee di base, ricordano molto i suoi lavori precedenti, pur avendo una natura propria

completamente unica. “Il concept alle spalle di questa serie di mobili per bagno si basa sulla

visualizzazione del fenomeno dell’acqua che forma le onde. Le onde sono create dal vento e

sono influenzate dall’inerzia e dalla gravità”, spiega Aduatz. Martin Klomfar aggiunge: “Il

nostro intento era quello di creare un nesso tra l’acqua, elemento primario del bagno, e i

mobili ad esso destinati”.

KLOMFAR has specialised in the international retail and wholesale of sanitary equipment for

more than 55 years and is rich in tradition. The company is a specialist when it comes to

bathroom accessories, fittings and textiles. A new era was ushered in when Martin Klomfar,

the son of founder Helmut, joined the company. Recently, KLOMFAR has been designing its

own products, including the panta rhei series of bathroom furnishings.

Designer Philipp Aduatz used the Panta Rhei philosophy to create pieces of furniture with

fundamental ideas reminiscent of many of his previous works, that yet have their own unique

nature. “The concept behind this series of bathroom furnishings is based on the visualisation

of the phenomenon of water forming waves. Waves are created by the wind and influenced by

inertia and gravity,” explains Aduatz. Martin Klomfar adds: “What we wanted to do was

create an associative concept within the design between both the primary element that

everything revolves around in the bathroom and the bathroom furnishings.”

Garnitur is an innovative sofa system for living rooms and public lounge areas made using solid

larch wood with leather and fabric upholstery. The full range comprises an armchair, a sofa

and a coffee table – available in an appealing range of colours. Both the stained hardwood

and upholstery can be individually tailored to any customer preference.

Nel lontano 1823, Josef Lobmeyr aprì la sua prima, piccola bottega nel cuore di Vienna. Da

allora si sono succedute ben sei generazioni che hanno avvicinato il pubblico ai prodigi del

vetro. Designer di altissimo livello come Josef Hoffmann, Adolf Loos, Ted Muehling e Max

Lamb hanno collaborato alla creazione di lampade e lampadari in cristallo, fatti a mano,

apprezzati da intenditori di tutto il mondo. Il cristallo Lobmeyr si trova anche in importanti

collezioni come, ad esempio, nel MOMA di New York, nel V&A di Londra e al MAK di Vienna.

Le creazioni della collezione JellySeries di Talia Radford sono, al contempo, gioielli e filtri

ottici. La special edition Jellyseries di Lobmayer, creata nelle officine Lobmeyr con tecniche

tradizionali, trae ispirazione dai classici lampadari. La lente è realizzata in cristallo senza

piombo levigato e lucidato a mano. Sia la struttura sia la catena sono realizzate in argento

In 1823, master glazier Josef Lobmeyr opened his first little glass business in the heart of

Vienna. Since then, six generations have unveiled the miracle of glass. Together with

designers like Josef Hoffmann, Adolf Loos, Ted Muehling, Marco Dessí, POLKA, Sebastian

Menschhorn and Formafantasma, classic pieces of handmade crystal and chandeliers emerged,

Talia Radford’s JellySeries products are both jewellery and analogue photo filters at the same

time. CrystalJellies, a special Lobmeyr edition, are inspired by chandelier pendants and are

cut using traditional techniques in Lobmeyr’s workshops. The looking glass is made of lead-

free crystal, hand-cut and hand-polished. Both the frame and the chain are made of 925

Both the delicate workmanship and the cut base emphasize the perfectly balanced tumbler

shapes of the drinking set no. 282 very well. The diamond cut, which irresistibly invites you to

touch the glass, is something of a challenge for the glass cutter. With this sensitive masculine

design, Ted Muehling is creating a counterpoint to the first series he made for Lobmeyr.

queste qualità. La collezione è composta da tazza con coperchio, tazzina e tazza da caffè,

ciotola per cereali/insalata, piatti e vasi di dimensione diversa. Un’altra peculiarità di questi

oggetti, è il fatto che si possa scrivere con un gesso sulla superficie opaca.

With her label mano design, Hedwig Rotter is giving out a clear sign in favour of combining

craftsmanship and design. All the products are hand-made in the company’s in-house

porcelain factory in Vienna. The product range includes tableware, home accessories and

lighting. Products are being re-interpreted from long-standing tradition and implemented

with a modern, functional design language. They tell new stories.

SHADES of NATURE plays with the diverse range of colours found in nature. 20 delicate hues

reflect the natural colour spectrum. The outer surface is matt, polished and boasts excellent

tactile qualities. A beautiful contrast is also created between the glossy and matt surfaces.

The reduced design language really does bring these qualities into their own. The collection

consists of a cup with lid, a coffee cup, a mocha cup, a cereal / salad bowl, plates and vases

in different sizes. And as an additional feature, the matt surface can be written on with

chalk.

MARCH GUT

LEO

Christoph March e Marek Gut hanno studiato Industrial Design alla Facoltà di Arte e Design di

Linz, in Austria. Nel 2010 hanno fondato lo studio di design MARCH GUT. Con un metodo

analitico, sempre alla ricerca di nuove sfide, il lavoro dei due designer è sempre orientato

alla funzione. Conoscenze ed esperienze acquisite permettono loro di sviluppare nuovi

progetti con un altissimo senso estetico. MARCH GUT lavora nell’ambito del design di prodotto

e d’arredo, oltre a creare e curare diverse esposizioni e spazi interni.

Per “Leonart”, festival artistico/culturale che si tiene ogni due anni a Leonding, in Austria,

MARCH GUT ha creato uno sgabello – LEO – in collaborazione con Schinko, produttore di

involucri in metallo. Lo sgabello è realizzato con un unico pezzo di lamiera di acciaio piegata,

profilata e saldata. LEO risalta particolarmente quando viene usato all’aperto, infatti, grazie

al suo rivestimento, può resistere alle intemperie e le sue gambe sono in grado di forare un

terreno morbido, creando l’impressione di forma conica. LEO è facilmente impilabile e può

essere utilizzato anche in ambienti interni.

Christoph March and Marek Gut studied Industrial Design at the University of Art and Design

Linz. In 2010, they founded the design studio MARCH GUT. Analytical in its methodology and

keen to seek out new ventures, the studio’s work is functionally oriented at all times. The

ensuing insights and experience give rise to new developments of high aesthetic appeal.

MARCH GUT works in the fields of product and furniture design, and also creates and curates

exhibition and interior spaces.

For “Leonart”, Leonding’s biennial open-air art festival, MARCH GUT created a stool – LEO –

working in collaboration with metal housing manufacturer Schinko. The stool is made of a

single piece of sheet steel that is bent, edged and welded. LEO cuts a particularly impressive

figure when used outdoors. Its durable powder coating makes it resistant to the elements and

its legs can be driven into soft soil as a result of their conical shape. LEO is simple to stack

and can be used indoors too.

MARTIN BREUER BONO ha studiato Ingegneria meccanica all‘Università tecnica di Vienna e ha

conseguito un master in Design industriale al Royal College of Art di Londra. Al di là delle

considerazioni estetiche formali, il suo lavoro si focalizza su contenuti concettuali spesso

associati ad aspetti tecnologici. Proprio per questo ha coniato il termine “sviluppo di design”.

Nel corso degli ultimi anni, Martin ha lavorato ad alcuni suoi progetti nei settori mobile,

arredo tavola e complementi d’arredo, creando il marchio MARTIN BREUER BONO. I suoi

progetti sono stati esposti sia in Austria sia all’estero e hanno ricevuto premi internazionali di

design e per l’innovazione.

Penthaus è un’opera architettonica, una struttura torreggiante, sottile e verticale. Tutto ciò

che realmente conta è in cima alla struttura stessa: luce, aria e vista! Gli scaffali inferiori non

sono stati volutamente inseriti, perché Penthouse è destinato ai libri più importanti della

vostra vita o ai documenti di cui ci si sta occupando in un preciso momento. Infatti, proprio

per questo può essere sistemato accanto al proprio posto preferito. Grazie ai piedini

regolabili è possibile garantire la perfetta verticalità della struttura, indipendentemente dal

tipo di superficie su cui appoggia.

Martin Breuer-Bono studied Mechanical Engineering at the Vienna University of Technology

and Industrial Design at the Royal College of Art in London. His work not only focuses on

formal design components, but also conceptual content and technological aspects. He coined

the phrase “design development” for this purpose. Over the last few years, Martin has worked

on self-started projects in the furniture, tableware and domestic objects segments, which he

recently edited by himself under the MARTIN BREUER BONO label. His projects have been

showcased both within Austria and abroad and have won international design and innovation

awards.

Penthaus is a piece of architecture: towering, slim and vertically oriented. All that really

counts is the top. Light! Air! View! The lower shelves have been deliberately faded out. For

the most important books in your life. Or for your current work in progress. It can be located

right next to your favourite spot. Adjustable feet ensure precise vertical alignment,

regardless of the floor surface.

Maya Pindeus & Johanna Pichlbauer A Play of Dependencies

Ogni oggetto nasconde qualcosa di vivo: a volte è il modo in cui si muove, altre volte è

radicato nella sua evoluzione. E poi ci sono oggetti che prendono vita quando interagiscono

con gli esseri umani. Per Maya Pindeus e Johanna Pichlbauer è questo aspetto che rende il

design un’arte ricca di fascino, ma anche di sfide. Le due designer viennesi sperimentano

proprio con il punto di incontro fra tecniche di produzione digitale e artigianato, fra uomo e

tecnologia. Insieme cercano di dare vita ad ogni loro singola creazione.

Il progresso tecnologico ci rende indipendenti e autonomi, a volte a costo di isolarci gli uni

dagli altri. Le lampade realizzate da Pindeus e Pichlbauer riportano un tocco d’interazione

umana sul luogo di lavoro: immaginiamo due persone che si trovano a dover condividere la

sola lampada sulla scrivania.

In base al modello di lampada saranno necessari spirito di collaborazione, capacità di trovare

un accordo o determinazione: i tre modelli raccontano il “gioco delle dipendenze” in tre

atti…

Every object has something lifelike about it. Sometimes it’s the way in which an object moves;

sometimes it's rooted in its evolutionary history - and then there are objects that come to life

during interaction with humans. For Maya Pindeus and Johanna Pichlbauer, it’s this aspect

that makes design fascinating but also challenging. The design duo from Vienna experiment at

the interface between digital production techniques and craftsmanship, between man and

machine. Together, they attempt to bring every single one of their creations to life.

Technological progress makes us self-reliant and independent, often at the cost of isolation

from one another. The lamps designed by Ms Pindeus and Ms Pichlbauer bring a touch of

human interaction back into the workplace: two people share one table lamp and have to

operate it together. Depending on the lamp model, either cooperation, agreement or

assertiveness are necessary - so the three models tell the “story of dependencies” in three

acts…

Collezione Heritage

La Zecca nazionale austriaca ha un passato di oltre 800 anni. È nella sua sede di Vienna che

viene prodotta una vasta gamma di monete e medaglie. Inoltre fornisce dischetti realizzati in

metalli preziosi e monete a molti paesi del mondo, anche se la produzione di monete per la

risalenti agli albori dell’epoca asburgica. Si tratta davvero di un pezzo di eredità storica

austriaca. Lo scopo della Collezione Heritage è quello di “ridare vita” a questo design di

grande valore sotto forma di collane e braccialetti, creando una linea di gioielli che sarà

disponibile in oro 14Kt e in argento 925. Inoltre, intende lanciare una serie di medaglie

commemorative per occasioni speciali, quali nascite, battesimi e matrimoni. Le piccole

placchette metalliche vengono prodotte in base alle più nobili e tradizionali tecniche

artigianali di coniazione, contando anche sull’esperienza unica degli austriaci nella finitura e

fregiatura delle superfici.

The history of the Austrian Mint dates back more than 800 years. A wide range of coins and

medals are made in-house at the Austrian Mint in Vienna. The Austrian Mint also supplies

circular blanks made of precious metals and circulation coins to numerous countries around

the world. But one of its main jobs is producing circulation coins for the Republic of Austria.

The Austrian Mint has a very old stamping archive that contains coin designs dating back to

the early Habsburg era. It’s a true piece of Austria’s historical heritage. The aim of the

Heritage Collection is to revive this valuable design. It will do so in the form of necklaces and

bracelets; the line of jewellery will be available in 14-carat gold and 925 sterling silver. On

the other hand, it will be launching medals to commemorate special occasions such as births,

marriages and christenings. The metal plates are manufactured in line with highly traditional

minting craftsmanship, coupled with the Austrian Mint’s unique expertise in surface finishing

and reliefing.

I Felt Oak – Christian Lutz

Il percorso di laurea triennale “Design, cultura manuale e materiale” presso la facoltà New

Design University St. Pölten è incentrato sulla questione di come l’artigianato, il design e la

produzione siano cambiati nell’era post-industriale. Quali modelli di vita e di lavoro sono stati

creati come conseguenza della digitalizzazione del design, della produzione e dei metodi di

distribuzione? Come si può far diventare realtà nuovi costumi o nuove etiche del consumo e

come si può trasformare la conoscenza interiore di arti e commercio nella base per questi

sviluppi?

Nel contesto del progetto “Ri-scoprire. Arredamento adattabile per progetti GEA”, gli

studenti del corso di laurea progettano prototipi in collaborazione con GEA, azienda

manifatturiera di scarpe e arredamento. Il progetto di Christian Lutz “I Felt Oak” affronta la

questione di quanto spazio di “parete” effettivamente serva perché si possa definire

“paravento”. La modularità ibrida, che prevede barriere di feltro da un lato e apertura delle

scaffalature di quercia dall’altro, aggiunge un tocco di diversità. Il materiale e il design

contribuiscono inoltre a dare un senso di ordine.

The Bachelor degree course in “Manual & Material Culture” at the New Design University St.

Pölten addresses the question of how craftsmanship, design and production have changed in

the post-industrial era. What working and life models are being created as a result of design,

production and distribution methods going digital? How can alternative customs or new

consumption ethics be turned into reality, and how can the insider knowledge of skilled crafts

and trades be used as a basis for these developments?

In the context of the “Un-Folding. Adaptable Furniture for GEA” project, students on the

degree course designed prototypes working in collaboration with GEA, a furniture and shoe

manufacturer. Christian Lutz’s Felt Oak project addresses the question of how much “wall” is

needed for something to be called a folding screen. The hybrid modular concept – featuring

felt barriers on one side and the openness of the oak shelf on the other – adds a touch of

diversity. Both the material and the design keep any mess produced in check.

superiore del tavolo può essere rimossa e utilizzata come vassoio. Il delicato disegno crea un

senso di trasparenza e luminosità, nascondendo, al contempo, gli eventuali oggetti riposti nel

contenitore sottostante.

and surprise with precise detail solutions.

The inspiration for Cooper’s design came from Cairo’s colourful city life. Cooper is

reminiscent of the strainers used in Egypt that consist of a round wooden frame surrounding a

built-in lattice structure. The two-part body of the Cooper side table rests on three slim steel

legs made into a ring. The table top can be removed and used as a serving tray. Its delicate

pattern creates a sense of transparency and lightness, hiding the objects in the storage space

underneath.

oggetti dietro alla griglia sono visibili solo quando ci si avvicina molto, ma da una certa

distanza rimangono nascosti. Per questo motivo, nel mobile possono anche essere riposti

oggetti di valore.

In Islamic architecture, “mashrabiya” refers to wooden lattice structures that were used as

window screens or balcony cladding in residential buildings and palaces. This piece of

furniture embodies this architectural element’s underlying principle. Its lattice structure is

used for shading and ventilation purposes. Objects behind the lattice only become visible at

close proximity, but remain hidden from the viewer at greater distances. The dresser thus

becomes a delicate piece of furniture for storing valuable items.

Il marchio “Phil Divi Product Design” appartiene al designer di prodotto austriaco Philipp

Divitschek, che offre idee, progetti e prototipi sviluppati attorno al tema "abitare". La sua

esperienza come falegname e l’amore innato per il design scandinavo si riflettono nel suo

design e nei prototipi nel campo degli ambienti di vita. Durante e dopo il periodo di studi in

Austria e in Svezia, Divitschek ha lavorato per studi di consulenza di design industriale e, in

qualità di designer e sviluppatore di prodotto, per una delle aziende leader a livello mondiale

L’appendiabiti DIY si basa sull’idea di creare autonomamente un oggetto minimalista

La sfida alle spalle del progetto era quella di creare un prodotto moderno e dall’aspetto

professionale pur usando normali tubi e accessori in rame e semplici strumenti idraulici.

The label “Phil Divi Product Design” belongs to Austrian product designer Philipp Divitschek.

His background in carpentry and his love for Scandinavian design are reflected in his designs

and prototypes in the fields of living environments. Throughout and after his studies in Austria

and Sweden, Divitschek has worked for industrial design consultancies as well as for one of

the world’s leading home furnishing companies as an inhouse design and product developer as

part of an international design team.

The DIY coat rack is based on the idea of creating your very own minimalistic coat rack using

only materials you can purchase from regular DIY stores. The challenge in this regard was to

make a modern and professional-looking product despite using conventional copper pipes,

copper fittings and simple sanitary tools.

Pia Bauernberger è la fondatrice del marchio di moda viennese che porta il suo nome.

Progetta e realizza piccole collezioni da donna in serie, andando consapevolmente contro ai

ritmi frenetici imposti dalle stagioni della moda. Lavorando in modo molto concettuale,

ambisce a combinare la moda con altre industrie creative quali, ad esempio, arte e design,

oltre, naturalmente, alla quotidianità. La designer realizza prodotti innovativi che sono, al

contempo, estetici e funzionali.

A Character’s coat è una linea creata da Pia Bauernberger che dà una nuova definizione

dell’abbigliamento da lavoro e, per la prima volta, lo rende accessibile anche all’industria

creativa. La designer ha tratto ispirazione da uno studio approfondito della vita lavorativa di

tutti i giorni e dei creativi austriaci per creare uno stile molto gradevole, dal punto di vista

estetico, ma, al contempo, pratico. Pia Bauernberger crea camici da lavoro personalizzati in

base alle caratteristiche dei singoli destinatari d’uso, fornendo anche un’ottima panoramica

dell’industria creativa austriaca.

Pia Bauernberger is the founder of the Viennese fashion label that goes by the same name.

She designs small-series women’s collections, and deliberately goes about her work in such a

way that she is not rushed by the fast-paced fashion seasons. By working in a highly

conceptual way, she aims to combine fashion with other creative industries such as design

and art, as well as with everyday life. Ms Bauernberger designs innovative products that are

both aesthetic and functional at the same time.

A Character’s Coat is a fashion line by Pia Bauernberger that redefines workwear and also

makes it accessible for the creative industries for the first time ever. Inspired by a thorough

study of the everyday working life and the personalities of Austria’s creative individuals,

fashion that is highly aesthetic as well as practical is created. Ms Bauernberger designs work

coats that are customised to people’s individual characters and also give an extensive insight

into Austria’s creative scene.

Stefan Nessmann, che sembrano avvolgere la superficie formando una sensazione di

The “Stoffenzis” have a soft foam core and are specially designed for indoor use. Being hand-

made, they feature a variety of textile materials. Patterns developed especially by Stefan

Nessmann that wrap seamlessly – and seemingly three-dimensionally – around the surface are

available upon request.

then a tree. As if the tree were growing and growing, leaving the earth and disappearing into

a cloud. As if nature wanted to save itself. An illusion?

La prima funzione di MasquePied è legata al suo uso: si tratta di un contenitore per scarpe. La

seconda funzione, invece, è simbolica: è una sorta di collegamento fra terra (piedi) e cielo

(testa). È perfetto per chi tende a lasciare in giro le scarpe. MasquePied è composto da due

parti fra loro identiche: l’unico dettaglio che le differenzia sono i piccoli fori sui lati che

permettono di appendere il contenitore alla parete. Ogni parte può essere piegata (lo

spessore del metallo è pari a 0,75 mm) a mano. Anche le scarpe possono essere facilmente

sistemate all’interno, se si desidera appendere il contenitore al muro.

The first function of the MasquePied is a practical one: it’s a foot mask. The second function

is symbolic: a mask between earth (feet) and sky (head). For people who tend to leave their

shoes lying around. MasquePied is made of two identical parts: the only difference between

them is the small holes on the sides that allow it to be attached to the wall. Each part can be

bent (metal sheet thickness: 0.75 mm) by hand. The shoes can then easily be adjusted by

hand if you want to arrange them on the wall.

Madre natura è instancabile e genera continuamente diversità e unicità. Stammdesign

racchiude in sé la passione per la bellezza naturale del legno. Il legno per i prodotti viene

selezionato con cura e amore e lavorato con precisione artigianale. I tronchi degli alberi

vengono tagliati in diversi strati e ridotti in solidi pannelli di legno. Ancor prima di procedere

all’abbattimento degli alberi vengono tenute in grande considerazione sia la loro età sia la

struttura. La forma unica, il colore e la struttura di ogni singolo albero determinano il modo

in cui, alla fine, gli strati dell’albero verranno utilizzati. Levigati e trattati a olio, gli elementi

in legno presentano le caratteristiche della natura: vivacità, diversità, forza e resistenza.

Stammdesign conserva nel prodotto l’anima dell’albero.

I tavoli di Stammdesign sono realizzati con solidi pannelli di legno naturale che “galleggiano”

sulla robusta struttura in vetro sottostante. La struttura e il colore sono unici e conferiscono a

ogni tavolo una sorta di aura. Ogni singolo prodotto è realizzato a mano con tecniche

artigianali di altissima qualità.

Nature is the untiring creator of individual diversity and uniqueness. Stammdesign embodies

the passion for wood’s natural beauty. The table manufactory is synonymous with lovingly

selected timber and precise workmanship. Tree trunks are cut into solid wood panels in shifts.

Both the age and the structure of the tree are taken into special consideration, already when

felling trees. The unique shape, colour and structure of each individual tree determines how

the layers of the tree will ultimately be used. Sanded and oiled, the wood elements embody

the liveliness, diversity, strength and endurance of nature. Stammdesign retains the tree’s

very soul.

Tables from Stammdesign are natural, solid wooden panels that “float” on a sturdy glass

substructure. The unique structure and colour lend each table a very special aura. The tables

are individual, hand-made quality products.

rappresentano vere e proprie sfide.

Soda Designers, ora a Vienna, sono stati coinvolti in attività d’insegnamento presso la New

Design University di St. Pölten e in collaborazioni con Sottsass Associati e Paolo Rizzato a

Milano, con Radi Designers a Parigi, con Philips Design a Vienna e Singapore, con Sagem e

Bene Office Furniture.

Attualmente sono coinvolti in diversi progetti di design d’arredamento, elettronica di

The Long Island dining chair offers a special degree of elegance and exemplary comfort

thanks to lavish upholstery and a sturdy backrest. The chair is available with a variety of leg

variants and a multitude of covers. The frame is made of beech or steel tubing.

Due to the combination of a turning mechanism and a slanting mirror surface, the Bellevue

mirror reflects the room’s most diverse and unexpected perspectives.

Strolz Leuchten

PONDUS – serie di lampade

Strolz Leuchten progetta e realizza lampade utlizzando materiali esclusivi. Le lampade

vengono prodotte in collaborazione con gli innovativi artigiani di “Werkraum Bregenzerwald”.

Per l’azienda le lampade non sono una semplice fonte luminosa, quindi, così come accade per

gli arredi di alto livello, unisce la bellezza estetica all’utilità. La luce della lampada viene

riflessa, concentrando il fascio luminoso e creando, in questo modo, l’atmosfera desiderata. Il

sistema modulare che è stato sviluppato permette di creare la grande varietà di prodotto.

PONDUS – peso e forma creano un senso di equilibrio e l’immagine finale acquista raffinatezza

grazie alla combinazione di velluto, ottone e cemento. Lo spazio vuoto della base in ottone

viene riempito con cemento; i due materiali si miscelano in modo armonioso e gradevole dal

punto di vista estetico e, allo stesso tempo, si crea un peso che favorisce la stabilità della

lampada. Non stiamo parlando di una lampada che segue le mode e che, per questo, ha vita

breve. Viene data molta importanza all’uso e alla lavorazione di materiali di alta qualità.

Ancora una volta si riesce a dare un tocco di modernità a un prodotto estremamente

tradizionale – il paralume.

Strolz Leuchten designs and produces lamps made of exclusive materials. They are

manufactured in collaboration with the “Werkraum Bregenzerwald”. Strolz Leuchten believes

that lamps are more than just sources of light. Like high-quality furniture, they combine

beauty with utility. They reflect the light given off by the lamp, focus the light’s projection

and create the desired atmosphere. The modular system developed allows for great deal of

product diversity.

PONDUS - an equilibrium between weight and form is achieved in a down-to-earth way and is

refined by combining velvet, brass and concrete. The hollow space of a brass base is filled

with concrete. This filling material harmonises with the brass in an aesthetically pleasing

manner, while its weight ensures that the floor lamp remains stable. This is not a lamp that

follows short-lived trends. The focus very much lies on the use of high-quality materials and

how they are processed. Once again, it presents that traditional product – the lampshade – in

the proper light.

già divenuto da tempo un marchio innovativo. La vasta gamma di servizi offerti dallo studio

spazia dalla consulenza di design fino ad arrivare allo sviluppo di pacchetti completi nel

campo dell’interior design. Con la convinzione che pilastri portanti del suo concept siano

valore e durata, per il suo lavoro, Irene attinge direttamente dalla sua lunga esperienza con

le diverse trame dei tessuti. Le sue opere non hanno lo scopo di assolvere a un semplice ruolo

funzionale nelle stanze che adornano: si tratta di oggetti senza tempo, la cui USP (Unique

Selling Proposition), “funzione ornamentale”, permette loro di durare per generazioni.

I tavolini della serie albeo sono realizzati in bronzo, ottone o alluminio. L’artista ha preso

spunto da una sezione di ponte in legno di quercia di almeno 100 anni, utilizzandola come

modello per creare un contrasto fra la solida consistenza e la delicatezza dei dettagli e della

superficie rivestita e lucida. I tavolini della serie albeo sono disponibili in altezze diverse e

hanno l’aspetto di sculture, completamente avvolte da una struttura in metallo (20/30 cm) o

con solide basi (43 cm).

value and durability, to which Irene has brought her lifelong experience with cross-grain

textures. Her works don’t serve a merely functional role in the rooms they adorn: they are

also timeless objects with the USP “functional ornamentation” that have been made to last

for generations to come.

The lounge tables from the albeo series are made of solid cast bronze, brass or aluminium.

The artist took the solidity of a piece from a 100-year-old oak bridge as a model in order to

create a contrast with the delicacy of the lacy elements and the coated and polished surfaces.

The side tables from the albeo series are of varying heights and are made as sculptures

encased in metal (20/30 cm) or with a solid table base (43 cm).

In the punto series, Ganser knowingly breaks through the solid metal plate to create a pattern

of light and shadow. The overall effect on the room is determined not just by the light’s

intensity and angle on the table, but also by its two-dimensional shadow. The punto lounge

table is available in a three-leg version with a height of 30 cm.

Studio David Tavcar

Salzgries Menagerie – collezione di tessuti per la casa

David Tavcar lavora nel campo del design di prodotto e d’arredo. Attualmente studia Design

industriale presso l’Università di arti applicate di Vienna e architettura presso l’Accademia di

belle arti di Vienna. Il design di David Tavcar si associa facilmente alla tradizione e

all’artigianato di alta qualità. Tavcar progetta anche soluzioni di prodotto per attività

commerciali e aspira a un futuro di collaborazioni con importanti marchi di design.

“Salzgries Menagerie” è una collezione di tessuti per la casa, di alta qualità e realizzati a

mano, prodotti nello storico “quartiere dei tessuti” di Slazgries a Vienna. Le stoffe vengono

prodotte con pura lana vergine pettinata proveniente dall’Austria, con lino, cotone o con

tessuti misti, per poi essere rifinite manualmente mediante stampa serigrafica e tintura. Sulle

stoffe vengono stampati motivi decorativi di animali che vogliono riportare alla mente la

cultura storica di corte dell’Europa Centrale.

David Tavcar works in the fields of furniture and product design. He is currently studying

Industrial Design at the University of Applied Arts Vienna and Architecture at the Academy of

Fine Arts Vienna. Design by David Tavcar is design that you associate with traditional and

high-quality craftsmanship. Mr Tavcar also designs product solutions for business customers

and aspires to work together with designer brands in future.

The Salzgries Menagerie is a collection of high-quality, handmade household textiles produced

in the historical “textile quarter” of Salzgries in Vienna. The fabrics are either woven from

combed Austrian virgin wool, linen, cotton or as blends. The textiles are then manually

finished by means of screen-printing and dying. The fabrics are printed with patterned animal

motifs, so they should be reminiscent of Central Europe’s historical court culture.

Vasetto per miele “Haus Scheu”

David Tavcar lavora nel campo del design di prodotto e d’arredo. Attualmente studia Design

industriale presso l’Università di arti applicate di Vienna e architettura presso l’Accademia di

belle arti di Vienna. Il design di David Tavcar si associa facilmente alla tradizione e

all’artigianato di alta qualità. Tavcar progetta anche soluzioni di prodotto per attività

commerciali e aspira a un futuro di collaborazioni con importanti marchi di design.

Il design del vasetto per miele “Haus Scheu” trae ispirazione dal linguaggio e dall’ideologia

dell’architetto austriaco Adolf Loos, enfatizza la teoria di “Ornamento e delitto”, il saggio

scritto da Loos, e, nella forma, ricorda molto il forte formalismo della famosa Casa Scheu di

Hietzing, a Vienna. Il vasetto è dotato di tre gradini che servono da alloggio per il cucchiaino,

ingannando elegantemente la forza di gravità. Sia il vasetto sia il suo coperchio sono

realizzati in porcellana cinese smaltata, mentre il cucchiaino è in acciaio inox lucido.

David Tavcar works in the fields of furniture and product design. He is currently studying

Industrial Design at the University of Applied Arts Vienna and Architecture at the Academy of

Fine Arts Vienna. Design by David Tavcar is design that you associate with traditional and

high-quality craftsmanship. Mr Tavcar also designs product solutions for business customers

and aspires to work together with designer brands in future.

The design of the Scheu House honeypot is inspired by the design language and ideology of

the Austrian architect Adolf Loos. The design emphasises the “Ornament and Crime” theory

and is reminiscent of the highly formalistic features of the famous Scheu House in Hietzing,

Vienna. This is reflected by the three steps which serve as a functional storage area for the

honey dripper, allowing it to elegantly overcome the laws of gravity. The honey pot and its lid

are made of glazed bone china, while the honey dripper is made of pressed and polished

stainless steel.

Infinity Lights

Seguendo la filosofia basta sul concetto “il design non è mai arbitrario”, Studio Novo, studio

di design pluripremiato con sede a Vienna, si è specializzato nello sviluppo di prodotti

standard, oltre che di marchi di prodotti e aziendali per numerosi clienti a livello

internazionale. Attraverso il marchio “Studio Novo | Home” la società sviluppa e

commercializza alcuni mobili selezionati dell’ambiente domestico, che, dal punto di vista del

puro design, potrebbero venire trascurati.

Il cuore della serie di lampade “Infinity” è un tessuto che emette luce, una sorta di paralume

usato come fonte illuminante. L’essenza della lampada è determinata dalla tensione tra

l’altissima precisione tecnica e la luce fluttuante. Ed è proprio questa caratteristica a dare

vita a una grande varietà di collezioni di sculture di luce, siano esse singole o collegate. Tra

queste vi sono lampadari, lampade a muro, a stelo e da tavola.

Following the philosophy of “Design is never arbitrary”, Studio Novo – a multiple-award-

winning design company based in Vienna – specialises in the development of standard

products, as well as product and corporate brands, for a large number of international

clients. Under the brand “Studio Novo | Home”, the company devotes its energies to the

development and marketing of selected pieces of furniture from the living area, which are

neglected from a design standpoint.

The centrepiece of the Infinity series of lamps is a light-emitting textile – a kind of lampshade

used as an illuminant. The very essence of the lamps is determined by the tension between

highly technical precision and floating lightness. It’s a circumstance that gives rise to a highly

varied collection of individual or connected light sculptures. These include pendant and wall

lamps as well as floor and table lamps.

Studio WG3 è costantemente impegnato nel cercare soluzioni a sfide architettoniche e al

design d’arredo. Esperti falegnami laureati in un college per arredo di design, gli architetti

Il tagliere “Hyperboard” può essere utilizzato da solo o insieme ad altri taglieri per formare

una superficie di lavoro più ampia in modo tale da suddividere gli alimenti in diverse parti o

come più si desidera. È inoltre possibile presentare piatti diversi in “ambientazioni” diverse.

La speciale scanalatura a “V” su entrambi i lati del tagliere unisce due funzioni essenziali:

permette sia a mancini che a destrimani di utilizzare il tagliere con la massima comodità e

Studio WG3 devotes its energies to creating solutions for architectural challenges and

furniture design. Being skilled carpenters and having graduated from a furniture design

college, the architects value interdisciplinary working as part of their practical experience.

With plenty of prudence, enthusiasm and talent, they create concepts that are well thought-

out right down to the smallest detail and stylistically fulfil their purpose when implemented.

Studio WG3 is based in Graz.

The Hyperboard chopping board can be used as a single board or together with several boards

to form a larger surface, so that food can be divided into portions as desired. Different dishes

can be presented in a special setting too. The specifically developed V groove on both sides of

the board combines two essential functions: it enables both left- and right-handed users to

conveniently use the board and keeps the kitchen neat and tidy too. A 4mm wide groove at

the edge ensures that any juices produced during cutting don’t run off the edge of the board.

superTEX composites è uno spin-off dell’Università di Innsbruck. All’istituto di architettura

sperimentale, Valentine Troi e il suo team hanno sviluppato e brevettato la procedura

“splineTEX” per la produzione di strutture in materiali compositi in fibra curvati con

tecnologia 3D, liberamente modellabili. Con questa procedura, superTEX non produce solo

componenti per architettura e design, ma anche per applicazioni industriali nei settori

automotive e aerospaziale. Per quanto riguarda design e architettura, il team sta sviluppando

un design proprio in collaborazione con designer internazionali.

Greenwall è una struttura reticolare indipendente realizzata mediante tubi in materiali

superTEX composites is a spin-off company of the University of Innsbruck. Valentine Troi and

her team developed the patented splineTEX procedure for manufacturing freely formable

fibre composite structures bent using 3D technology at the Institute for Experimental

Architecture. Based on this manufacturing procedure, superTEX not only produces

components for architecture and design, but also for industrial applications in the automotive

and aerospace segments. In the field of architecture and design, the team is developing their

own designs, but cooperating with international designers as well.

Greenwall is a self-supporting structure made of new, carbon-reinforced natural fibre tubes

with mounted plant pots and integrated watering. The first-ever modular system can be

adapted to suit different sizes and shapes.

TEAM 7 is the market leader when it comes to ecological design furniture. The range’s unique

products combine traditional craftsmanship and innovative technology. TEAM 7 runs its

production operations exclusively in Austria in a sustainable and responsible way, maintaining

control of the value creation process from the tree to the finished piece of furniture. At

flagship stores and over 500 sales outlets worldwide, TEAM 7 maintains a presence on the

international stage. 565 of the company’s 670 members of staff are employed in Austria.

Two coinciding shells made of high-quality leather and fine natural wood combine to create a

harmonious desk. Its technical subtleties remain concealed until the upper shell slides out.

There are three variants: a wall-mounted console, a two-legged version and a free-standing

version. The wood veins on the edge of the leather cover enhance the feminine character, as

do the slightly flared legs and the fine curves. Cross-cut wood edges refer to TEAM 7’s

trademark: its passion for natural wood.

The A-Chair cuts an impressive figure with its consistency: a line made of squared timber

weaves its way around the ends of the seat; the transition from the chair legs to the armrests

and backrests is fluent. They’re clear contours that reduce sitting to the absolute essentials.

The timber joins engage in dialogue for this purpose – they turn necessity into an aesthetic

unique selling point and are a fine example of traditional carpentry. This equilibrium between

the functional and the ornamental makes Feichtner’s A-Chair something special.

ABSOLUT VODKA ha incaricato Thomas Feichtner di realizzare il design del bicchiere ABSOLUT

FEICHTNER. Il bicchiere doveva essere realizzato specificatamente per la vodka top quality

della distilleria svedese, ABSOLUT ELYX, e avrebbe dovuto rispecchiare la grande capacità

artigianale degli esperti distillatori. L’idea di fondo era che questa vodka, distillata a mano e

rettificata nell’originale boccale in rame dal 1921, venisse ulteriormente arricchita con un

bicchiere ideato da Feichtner. Un bicchiere che riesce a tenere un perfetto equilibrio fra

peso, spessore del vetro e altezza.

Thomas Feichtner was commissioned by ABSOLUT VODKA to design a new bar set. This glass

had to be designed specifically for the Swedish distillery’s finest vodka, ABSOLUT ELYX, and

reflect the skilled craft of the most experienced distillers. The vodka, which is hand-distilled

and cleared in an original copper pot that dates back to 1921, was to be complemented by a

bar set designed by Mr Feichtner that underlines the vodka’s concept in both the design

process and the quality workmanship.

Thomas Schiefer ha studiato Interior Design presso l’Istituto HTL di Mödling e Industrial Design

all’Università di Arti applicate di Vienna. Spinto dal costante desiderio di scoperta del nuovo,

per il suo design attinge dalle più disparate influenze che inserisce poi in un processo creativo

“emozionale”, una strada che lo porta spesso a sperimentare. Prendiamo, ad esempio, il

progetto “lufttritt”,attraverso il quale è stata creata una scala sulla base del concept “air”

che poi, in un secondo momento, ha permesso di sviluppare la variante “rock”.

Il primo passo del designer è stato cercare di comprendere il motivo per cui, anche nelle

forme di edifici architettonici moderni, le scale tendano ad essere rigide. Per creare una

scala in grado di auto-sostenersi, Thomas Schiefer ha abolito l’idea di un solido sistema di

supporto e ha unito fra loro i gradini. Per realizzare la sua idea ha si è ispirato ai tipici ponti

sospesi. La sola forma della scala è già di per sé un invito a salirvi; una volta arrivati al piano

superiore ci si sente “sostenuti” ma leggeri. E ci si accorge di questo soprattutto quando i

piedi appoggiano a terra e si crea una sensazione di grande stabilità nonostante l’oscillazione.

Thomas Schiefer studied Interior Design at HTL Mödling and Industrial Design at the University

of Applied Arts Vienna. Motivated to discover new things, he deals with and emotionally

shapes a wide variety of influences into his design process, whereby the path may also lead

him to conduct experiments. Take the “lufttritt” project, for example, where an “air”

concept staircase and, in a subsequent stage, the “rock” variant were developed.

The first step was to explore why, even in contemporary architecture building forms,

staircases have to be rigid. To create a self-supporting staircase, Thomas Schiefer did away

with a solid support system and strung graded profiles to one another. For this, he drew

inspiration from suspension bridges. Elated by the shape, users are warmly invited to climb

the staircase. The way to the next floor appears to be light and supportive. This much is

indeed proven when feet make contact with the landing. The footfall is softened slightly at

all times, creating a sensation of light, steady footing.

Tischlerei Pühringer Guarda la Roba & GUARDA MI pühringer – mobili tradizionali re-interpretati.

I mobili vengono prodotti nell’azienda di famiglia che si trova a Mühlviertel, in Austria. In ogni

oggetto, realizzato in collaborazione con designer e architetti, è evidente la passione per la

materia prima e per la forma.

Un aspetto semplice, un design lineare e un linguaggio non convenzionale: Guarda la Roba

soddisfa tutte le richieste (extra) su un unico, insolito appendiabiti. Composto di sole quattro

sezioni, questo oggetto presenta grande funzionalità e, allo stesso tempo, alti standard

artistici. Guarda la Roba, come dice il termine stesso, ha il compito di sorvegliare gli abiti.

Anche GUARDA MI è un complemento d’arredo unico nel suo genere. Realizzato in quattro

sezioni di legno massiccio, ha un aspetto stabile e fiero, non è mai invadente e si limita

semplicemente a fare il suo lavoro. GUARDA MI è un oggetto di design utile e ambizioso, dal

punto di vista artistico. È semplice e riproducibile, ma conserva un proprio linguaggio di

forma vivo e non convenzionale.

Pühringer - traditional furniture re-interpreted.

Tischlerei Pühringer’s furniture is manufactured in-house in the family-run company in

Mühlviertel. The passion for both the raw material and the shape are what characterise the

company’s work, which it implements in collaboration with designers and architects.

A straightforward appearance, a simple design and an unconventional design language:

Guarda la Roba satisfies all the demands placed on an unusual clothes rack. Consisting of only

four sections, this piece of furniture is a very useful object with high artistic standards.

Guarda la Roba is your clothes’ “keeper”, so to speak, and retains its composure at all times.

GUARDA MI is a striking and unique piece of furniture too. It also consists of just four sections

of solid wood; while it stands in a robust and self-assured manner, it is never obtrusive and

simply does its job. GUARDA MI is a useful and artistically ambitious designer object. It is

simple and reproducible and has its own unconventional, keen design language.

TU GRAZ - Institut für Raumgestaltung Joints

Con il marchio “amm - architekten machen moebel” (letteralmente, “gli architetti fanno

mobili”), l’istituto di architettura d’interni del Politecnico di Graz (TU Graz), sotto la guida di

Irmgard Frank, sviluppa prototipi di mobili in legno massiccio. Componenti dinamici d’arredo

idonei all’uso quotidiano vengono creati sulla base di una reinterpretazione dell’artigianato e

con materie prime locali. Con Matthias Gumhalter, Claudia Gerhaeusser e Rainer Eberl, amm

ha già preso parte esponendo a rinomati eventi di design internazionali come, ad esempio, il

Salone del Mobile di Milano, l’Art Design di Felkirch e la Vienna Design Week.

Il progetto attualmente in corso si focalizza sui dettagli delle giunzioni per legno. Si tratta di

fattori essenziali per forma e funzione nel design, nella produzione di mobili e, nello specifico,

per la lavorazione del legno massiccio. Ed è proprio per questo che l’opera viene mostrata

come processo che ha inizio con lo sviluppo di singoli dettagli di giunzione per poi portare alla

realizzazione di un mobile completo. In pratica, oggetto dell’esposizione sono i diversi aspetti

di un progetto orientato ai dettagli e alla realizzazione di prototipi come approccio al design.

With the “amm – architekten machen moebel” label, the Institute of Spatial Design of the

Graz University of Technology headed up by Irmgard Frank develops solid wood furniture

prototypes. Dynamic pieces of furniture suited to everyday use are created from

reinterpreted craftsmanship and local materials. Guided by Matthias Gumhalter, Claudia

Gerhaeusser and Rainer Eberl, amm has already been exhibited at internationally renowned

design festivals such as Salone del Mobile in Milan, Art Design Feldkirch, Vienna Design Week

and “selected” in Graz.

Detailed joints form the focal point of the current project. They are essential factors for form

and functions in design, in furniture-making and when working with solid wood. It is for this

very reason that the work is shown as a process. The process starts with the development of

individual joining details and leads to complete pieces of furniture. The aspects of a detail-

oriented design and prototyping as a design approach are on show.

Kaffeehaus Tisch 3.0

La designer Ulrike Leitner progetta una grande varietà di prodotti in base al motto “Un design

conoscono e amano. Il Coffeehouse Table 3.0 è la dimostrazione della bellezza della ceramica.

È facilmente prodotta in Austria e riesce sempre a colpire per la grande varietà di

rivestimenti vitrei unici e di grande effetto. La manutenzione e la pulizia di questo tipo di

rivestimento è molto semplice, pertanto risulta perfettamente idoneo per le superfici di un

tavolo, facendo grande “concorrenza” al più classico rivestimento in marmo.

Designer Ulrike Leitner designs a variety of products according to the motto “Better design

for more zest of life”.

Austria is internationally known for a highly sophisticated and internationally esteemed coffee

house culture. The Coffeehouse Table 3.0 is a new interpretation of the traditional

coffeehouse table we all know and love. The Coffeehouse Table 3.0 shows that ceramic is a

wonderful material. It is easy to produce in Austria and cuts an impressive figure due to its

rich variety of wonderful and unique glazes. The ceramic glaze is very easy to clean and is

therefore well-suited to a table surface that gives the marble slab a run for its money. Unlike

marble, which has been formed over millions of years, ceramic has a very long tradition of

craftsmanship but is produced in a sustainable manner.

Designer Ted Muehling (USA) designs sensual objects that are inspired by natural shapes. He

abstracts the multi-faceted shapes found in nature and turns organic structures such as exotic

seed capsules, long-stemmed branches and gently curved leaves into objects for everyday

use. Muehling created spice dishes and a range of vases and candleholders for Wiener Silber

Manufactur. The traces of the hammer blow correspond to Muehling’s desire to emphasise the

living, growing and organic qualities of objects that have been produced by hand.
