Notre congrès est le plus important rassemblement annuel d’exploitants com-merciaux de l’industrie canadienne du transport aérien et de la for-mation au pilotage. Our AGM and Trade Show is the premier annual event for commercial aviation and flight training in Canada. It is meant to be informative, offer a forum to discuss issues, and provide a unique opportunity for networking, meeting old friends and making new acquaintances.

James C. Cherry, FCAPresident and Chief Executive Officer, Aéroports de MontréalJames Cherry is a Montréal native and graduate of McGill University. He is a chartered accountant who has over 30 years of experience in general management, project management and financial man-agement in the International Aerospace, Defence and Rail sectors.

Over this period he has worked in senior executive positions with Bombardier Inc., Oerlikon Aerospace Inc., CAE Inc. and ALSTOM

Canada Inc. He joined Aéroports de Montréal as President and Chief Executive Officer in June 2001, and is a member of the Board of Directors of Aéroports de Montréal.

Nick MulderConsultant and Senior Associate, Global Public AffairsDuring his 32-year career in the public service, Nick Mulder served as the Economic Advisor to the Premier of New Brunswick and as the Deputy Minister of various federal departments including Transport Canada, Environment Canada, Employment and Immi-gration, and Supply and Services.

He worked for 15 years at Transport Canada, including as the Deputy Minister where he was a principal architect of a broad commercialization agen-da which included the privatization of CN Rail, the development of the authority model governing ports and airports, the creation of NAV CANADA, and regulatory and subsidy changes. From 1997-1999, he was the President of Stentor Telecom Policy Inc., the poli-cy development, communications and government relations corporation firm represent-ing the Canada-wide Stentor Telecommunications Alliance.

Michael TrethewayExecutive Vice President, InterVISTAS Consulting Inc.Mike Tretheway is Executive Vice President and Chief Economist with InterVISTAS Group and President of InterVISTAS Consulting Inc. (Canada).

Dr. Tretheway earned a Ph.D. in economics from the University of Wisconsin and served for 14 years as Associate Professor in the Fac-ulty of Commerce and Business Administration at the University of

British Columbia, where he continues as an Adjunct Professor. He has served as an advisor to governments, industry and consumer groups in the U.S., Canada, Australia, New Zea-land, Africa, and the European Union. Before co-founding InterVISTAS Consulting in 1997, Dr. Tretheway served as Special Advisor to the President & CEO of the Vancouver International Airport Authority, and was responsible for the marketing of the airport.

Isabelle Dostaler, Ph.DAssociate Professor, Management Studies, Concordia UniversityDr. Isabelle Dostaler is an Associate Professor, Management, John Molson School of Business, Concordia University. She holds a Ph.D in Management Studies from the University of Cambridge, was Di-rector of the Aviation MBA Program at Concordia University (2005-2007), and has research interests in airline competitive strategies, in the management of global aerospace supply chain as well as the

management of aerospace product development. Dr. Dostaler has published in scholarly journals such as Journal of Air Transport

Management, Journal of Aviation/Aerospace Education & Research, and Journal of High Technology Management Research. She has presented in a large number of academic and practitioners conferences and is frequently asked by various media to comment on aviation and aerospace business news.

Frederick (Ted) LarkinPrincipal, LarkinvestFor nearly thirty years, Ted Larkin advised institutional investors across North America, Europe and Asia on their interests in Cana-dian companies that provided transportation services and/or manu-factured transportation equipment. These companies included Air Canada, Bombardier, CAE, Canadian Airlines, Canadian National, Canadian Pacific, Laidlaw, Magna, Wardair and WestJet, as well

as many smaller enterprises. He also participated in the initial public offerings of Air Canada (1989), Canadian National Railway (1995), WestJet Airlines (1999), Canada 3000 (2000), ACE Aviation Holdings (2005) and Jazz Air (2006).

During his career in the investment business, he was the top ranked Canadian trans-portation analyst in institutional investor surveys performed by Greenwich, Brendan Wood and Reuters/Tempest. Larkin contributed the chapter on Airlines in the investment industry textbook “Handbook of Canadian Security Analysis” and has spoken at numer-ous aviation and investment-related conferences.

Aviation has been a life-long passion for Larkin. He obtained his private pilot licence with the Royal Canadian Air Cadets in 1970, had freelance writing published in Cana-dian Aviation magazine during university and has been a keen observer of the global aerospace industry for more than 40 years. He has been writing a series of corporate profiles/business model critiques on Canadian aviation companies for WINGS and HE-LICOPTERS magazines.

Martin EleyDirector General, Civil Aviation, Transport CanadaMartin Eley was appointed to the position of Director General (DG), Civil Aviation on May 4, 2009.

Martin started his aviation career in 1972 as an undergraduate with the British Aerospace Civil Division at Weybridge, Surrey, Eng-land. He graduated in 1977 with a B.Sc (Hon) in Aeronautical Engi-neering from the Imperial College of the University of London. He

then moved to work on the application of composite materials to Jaguar and Tornado Aircraft with the British Aerospace Military Division at Warton, Lancashire, England.

In 1982, Martin moved to Canada to join Transport Canada (TC) as a structures en-gineer in the Airworthiness Branch. As a Senior Engineering Program Manager from 1985 to 1994, he was responsible for the Type Certification of many Canadair/Bombar-dier aircraft and various foreign products. He re-joined the Structures Section in Aircraft Certification Branch as Superintendent from 1994 to 1999. He was appointed Chief of the Engineering Division in 1999 and Director, National Aircraft Certification Branch in 2001.

Martin is a Professional Engineer and an Associate Fellow of the Canadian Aeronau-tics and Space Institute (CASI).

Donald E. Baldwin President & CEO, Baldwin Aviation Inc. Donald E. Baldwin has more than 30 years of general and busi-ness aviation experience. He started Baldwin Aviation in 2004 to help smaller flight organizations implement safety management systems and standards. Baldwin was Chairman of the National Business Aviation Association, where he served as acting president and CEO, guiding the organization through a leadership transition.

Prior to that, Baldwin spent 27 years at Texaco working his way up from copilot to man-ager of aviation transport services, and as director of corporate aviation for Coca-Cola. Baldwin received the Business & Commercial Aviation magazine Visionary Award for his participation on the FAA Fractional Ownership Aviation Rulemaking Committee and numerous NBAA Flying Safety Awards for his 9,000 hours of accident and incident-free flying career.

Baldwin is a native of New Jersey with a Bachelor’s Degree in aviation management from Wilmington College in Delaware.
