SCENARIO: Spanish-speaking gentleman goes to a pharmacy to have medicine
transferred from another pharmacy.Associate: I have a customer here and I dont know what he needs, ask him how the
pharmacy can help him.
Customer: Yo necesito este medicamento, me dijo el doctor que le diera su nmero de telfono
para que lo llamen y me entreguen la medicina aqu, su nmero es 323-562-1567.
Associate: Youre a brand new customer here so we need you to fill out paperwork and
also we need your insurance information. Also when do you need this
medication by because it takes 24 hours to get this medicine transferred to us?
Customer: Me dijo el mdico que solamente tena que entregar este papel y que ustedes puedenllamarlo porque yo necesito que enven este medicamento para ac. Es por eso que
le estoy dando este papel porque no quiero tener problemas.
Associate: First, I need you to fill out some paperwork here so we can setup an account so
we can put you in our system, second, we need your insurance information and
thirdly it takes up to 24 hours to get that medication transferred from the
other pharmacy.
Customer: No me pueden dar el nmero de esta farmacia para drselo a mi mdico para que el
los llame?
Associate: No, first, you need to fill out an application so I can enter it in the system
because we dont have any information about you, also, we need your
insurance information as well, thats just the way it works. When you come to
a new pharmacy you need to fill out paperwork so we can create an account
for you and put your insurance information in our system, after that, the next
time, itseasy its just because its the first time youre using this pharmacy.
Customer: Mire yo creo que voy a regresar con alguien que habla ingls para hablar con ella
porque no s, yo prefiero que me den el nmero para que el mdico llame. Puedo
llevarme esta hoja a casa para llenarlo all?
Associate: Im sorry but we have to call the doctor, do you have your insurance
information?
Customer: Puedo llevar los papales para llenarlos en casa ya que tengo esa informacin all?
Associate: Ok I will get the medication information and transfer everything over, then
youll come back and bring your..

Customer: 10 de octubre del 71 y el telfono es 650-679-4589.
Associate: OK, you need to come back tomorrow after 2:00, bring the completed forms
back and Ill have everything ready.
Customer: Pero yo no tengo seguro.
Associate: No problem well see you tomorrow.
