KS2 includes the most important years in primary school, SATs can set the standard for your child’s next 5 years of learning. In fact 1 in 4 children leave primary school unable to read or write to a good standard, reducing their chances to succeed in their GCSE’s and A-levels. This is the time where pupils will begin to fall behind or excel in their core subjects.

In a class of 30 it is incredibly hard for pupils to receive the 1-1 attention that can help them to unlock their abilities and raise academic attainment.

The Tutors United At Home Tutoring Programme aims for all participants to make as much progress as possible and start secondary school with the confidence they need to succeed. We achieve this by providing tuition that is:

Affordable tuitionIt’s no secret that private tuition is expensive - in fact, you could pay as much as £140 a month for a regular private tutor!

At Tutors United we strive to provide quality tuition at affordable rates, that’s why our bespoke service will only ever cost parents £45 per pupil a month.

Reinvesting in our pupilsAs a non-profit organisation, we are proud to reinvest in our pupils. At the end of each academic year, we aim to provide extra tuition and resources for participants who could benefit from additional help and support.

Consistently high quality and enjoyablePupils will work with their tutors weekly, including summer and half-term, throughout Years 5 and 6.

Tutors are fully trained in our purpose built curriculum and are committed to helping your child progress from week to week. Tutors United know that every child is different, that is why our lessons are structured to both support and challenge pupils based on their individual abilities.

Our pupils find an inspiring role model in their tutorsOur tutors are passionate about their subjects and trained to teach with a gentle, fun and youthful approach, which enables your child to enjoy studying and excel stress-free.Still in studies themselves, our tutors find it easy to relate to younger pupils – knowing how to engage them in difficult subjects and pass on up-to-date exam techniques.

All of our tutors are current university students who are enhanced DBS checked and fully trained before they begin tutoring with us.

Involving you in your

ProgressionEvaluationsWe want to make sure you are included in your child’s progress.

All parents and guardians receive feedback following every lesson and are regularly updated with assessment results.

Tutors United are happy to help parents understand more about the topics we cover and work with them to identify specific problem areas.

SupportEach learning pair will have a dedicated member of staff assigned to them for support, to answer queries, reschedule lessons and to make sure your child is receiving all the help possible to enable them to succeed.

All parents are guaranteed to receive a check-up visit at least once a year to ensure their child is happy and progressing.

Discover the benefits ofhome learningAt Tutors United, we believe in bringing education back home, which is why all of our tutoring lessons are delivered at the home of the pupil.

We find that our pupils benefit from studying in an environment where they are comfortable, relaxed and open. We also find that parents enjoy meeting with tutors and can actively engage in their child’s education.

Our ResultsTutors United has helped over 250 primary school pupils in London to achieve outstanding results and make major progress through private tuition.

The results of our private tuition are displayed in our pupils through a rise in their attainment levels, increased confidence in their ability to learn and a surge in their engagement and participation in the classroom.

How to ApplyWhen registering you will need to find a learning partner in the same school Year (5/6) for your child to work with during lessons. Working with a partner will help both pupils to develop their skills and communication as they support each other’s learning.

So that we can fulfill our social mission, we are looking for applicants who meet 2 or more of the following criteria:

- Eligible for free school meals - 1st or 2nd generation migrant- Eligible for housing benefit, council tax support or working tax credit- Household income under £30,000 a year- BME pupil

If the primary applicant meets our criteria, then their learning partner is guaranteed a place.

To apply, complete the simple application form and return it to your school. Alternatively, you can apply online at www.tutorsunited.org/athometutoringprogramme.

Places are limited, so it is best to apply as soon as possible. If you require further information, do not hesitate to contact us via: [email protected]

If your application is successful, you and the parent/guardian of your child’s learning partner will be contacted for a short telephone call to discuss your children’s tutoring schedules, your availability and answer any questions you may have about the programme.

80% of our pupils jumped from a level 3 to 4 in English and Maths within seven months of tuition!
