Last August, student government associations from the Mountain West

Conference met at TCU for the first annual Mountain West Conference Leadership

Summit to exchange ideas, share information, and build stronger relationships

across the region.

As student governments, our goal is to better serve students in new and innovative

ways. Frequently, the best ideas come from each other.

We, the Associated Students of the University of Utah, are excited to host the 2nd

Annual Mountain West Student Leadership Summit at the University of Utah

August 6-8, 2009 in Salt Lake City, Utah!

This year’s conference theme is “Mountains of Possibilities.” Throughout the conference

we will provide student leaders with informative sessions, interactive activities, and

highlights of the many attractions of Salt Lake City.

The Leadership Summit goals are as follows:

• Create conference unity among student leaders

• Provide an environment where ideas can be shared

• Give the students a voice within the Mountain West Conference

Our student governments will be faced with many challenges in the future, and it is

essential that our institutions be on the front lines of advancement in order to adapt to

the ever-changing landscape of higher education. We look forward to August!

street from some of the best coffeehouses, art galleries, restaurants, and shopping that Salt

Lake City has to offer. Light rail, dubbed “Trax”, connects the University with downtown

and surrounding areas, and runs every 15 minutes – providing convenient and
