4.2 Learn CycleUpon restoration of power to the control unit, the door must go through a learncycle, this enables the processor to calculate the variables (refer to note 1)required for normal operation over the full travel distance of the door.

The learning cycle will start from whichever position the door is at when powerwas disconnected. After an activate signal from the inner sensor the learn cyclewill start, the cycle consists of:

a) The door travels to the open position at size speed, no information isgathered during this time.

b) In the full open position the full cycle count is set to zero.

c) The door starts travelling in the close direction at size speed, during thistime the count is incrementing.

d) The door arrives at the closed position, count is saved and from thisvalue all the variables are calculated.

e) The door is now ready to operate as normal.

Note]: Thevariables that are calculated include:

a) Size speed

b) Back checkposition

c) Latch position

d) Full travel distance of door

e) Summerwinter open position

9 Main Features (Battery pack)

9.1.1 Microprocessor conlrol of battery funclions(a) charge voltage 13.5 valls(b) Fast charge >250mA on very low battery & trickle charge of

<30mA on full battery Load test every 20 minutes for 20 seconds(load = 15Q).

9.1.2 Sounder on battery faull sounds for short lime every 15 mlnulesThe battery board will test the battery as soon as the mains power is applied,a short beep at the end of this 10 second test will indicating that the battery isOK. If the battery fails this lest lhen 3 long beeps will sound & the processorwill suspend battery load testing for B hours allowing the battery to charge.During this time the LED will flash to indicate a battery fault. Failsafe contactswill remain open allowing the doors to work normally and the sounder will notbleep to indicate a battery fault. After B hours the battery board will thencommence load testing every 15 minutes. In the event of the battery failingthis tesl, the fail safe contacts will close to hold lhe doors open, the LED willflash to indicate a battery fault. The sounder will now only bleep 5 times at 2-second intervals for a total of 10 seconds every 15-minute interval.

9.1.3 Lock release for fail secure• Failsafe relay/contacts switching to hold the doors open in the event of

a battery fault• Battery monitoring continuously checks the battery line voltage every

250mS (during load test checking the battery voltage and off testchecking the charge voltage)

• Battery load test lowers the charge voitage from 13.5 (.:!: 0.5) to 9 (.:!: 0.5)volts and applies a load (15Q) for 10 seconds every 15 minutes
