One: That which was from the beginning, which we have heard and seen with our eyes concerning the word of life, we proclaim to you. All: God of light, in whom there is no darkness, we praise you. One: The life was made manifest, and we testify to it. All: God of light, in whom there is no darkness, we praise you. One: If we say we have fellowship with God while we walk in darkness, we lie and do not live according to the truth. All: God of light, in whom there is no darkness, we praise you. One: If we confess our sins, Jesus Christ is faithful and just, and will forgive our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. All: Jesus is the expiation for our sins, and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.

Words cannot express our gratitude for all who have so graciously helped our mother Cathy Tartaglia and ourselves during the past few months. Your presence in our lives at this difficult time has been such a gift to us. Many thanks to Emily Campbell for her incredible kindness, support, and guidance, as well as the loving care she put into Cathy's memorial arrangements and service. Many thanks also to the Presbyterian Women who honored Cathy with a beauti-ful tea after the service, and who have arranged meals to be brought to us during especially difficult times. Sharon Holcomb, Peggy Kmieciak, Kiki Farrow, Nancy Sullivan, Debra MacGregor, Orlean Heidel, Joyce Holmes and so many others have been steadfast in supporting us in myriad ways through these past few months. To all who have offered support and prayed for us throughout Cathy’s illness: you have filled our hearts and enriched our lives. Amy and Anne Tartaglia.

“ADOPT A BED” PROGRAM Well, it’s that time of year; if you are interested in gardening and wish to make our Church a garden spot, think about volunteering. Last year volunteers have already had the opportunity to select their previous beds. The remaining beds still need a caring person(s) to adopt them. Personal creativity and loving care will be the only requirements of your effort. Please contact Mike or Rhonda Bode at 734-455-7048 if you are interested in having a garden. To kick off the volunteer effort, we are designating Saturday May 6 as our annual
All Church Outside Clean-up Day…Saturday, May 6 at 9:00am Everyone in the congregation is invited to help clean-up the grounds after winter. Bring your gloves, shovels, rakes and trimming tools and share fellowship in working to make God’s house look neat and clean.

Plymouth National Day of Prayer in Kellogg Park
Thursday May 4
The Heartbeat of Plymouth is hosting the Fourth Annual Plymouth National Day of Prayer Event in Kellogg
Park on Thursday, May 4. Please stop by the park in downtown Plymouth any time from 8am-5pm that day to
pray for our nation with pastors from local churches. Also, there will be a National Day of Prayer Service in
the park at 6:30pm-7:30pm. If it rains, we will meet at Woodside Bible Church (42021 E. Ann Arbor Trail) in
Plymouth for the service. If you are interested in singing in the multi-church choir for the service, please
come at 6pm to rehearse some well-known patriotic hymns.
FPCP FEASIBILITY STUDY TASK FORCE In response to needs identified by the FPCP Building and Grounds Committee, our Session has voted to explore what is feasible to do for repairs and upgrades to our church building. The FPCP Feasibility Study Task Force was formed to do this. In the next week, you will get a mailing from the church explaining what repairs and upgrades are considered most important to do at this time. It also includes cost estimates. We are looking for your feedback! We have hired a consultant to do face-to-face interviews and focus group meetings with a representative sample of our church membership. This will happen in the first week of May. A written survey will also be mailed to all FPCP families. This is your opportunity to tell our Session if we should move for-ward with these repairs and upgrades, and how should we pay for them. Please understand that the FPCP Session will not move forward with any of these repairs and upgrades until they have heard from you, the members of FPCP.

Earth Day is on Saturday, April 22. As Christians, we know that every day is an opportunity to care for God’s good earth. FPCP’s Presbyterians for Earth Care is doing all sorts of good things helping this church in caring for God’s creation. As a potentially-certified PC (USA) Earth Care Congregation, we are a church that cares for God’s earth in the ways we worship, educate, do mission/outreach, and care for our own building/property. Presbyterians for Earth Care will be celebrating Earth Day on Sunday, April 23rd. We will praise God’s goodness and consider ways in which we can continue to care well for God’s amazing and delightful gift of creation. Join us in learning, inspiring, and caring by visiting our table in the Narthex.
If you’re looking for some ideas to do for Earth Day (this month and every day!) in your own home, at church and elsewhere, check out these resources:
Walk, bike or take public transportation to work, town and/or church this month.
Think about what you eat and how it impacts our community as well as the earth. Some food for thought: http://www.sustainabletable.org/.
Get a “Green Tip” each day in your email: http://www.epa.gov/earthday.
Take your hazardous waste to your local municipality on their annual recycling day (information available in Narthex.)
Consider taking the Water Bottle Pledge to no longer use disposable water bottles that fill our landfills and take over 100 years to decompose (information available in Narthex.)
Do you love the blue of the sky? Is watermelon your favorite summer food? Have your family write a “love note” to God’s Creation (available in the Narthex) expressing what you love about His world.
Visit Barson’s Greenhouse in Westland and while there see “Brenda’s Butterfly House” https://www.barsons.com/ or visit Willow Greenhouse in Salem Township for your spring and summer flower and plant needs. http://willowgreenhouse.com/
Join the Presbyterians for Earth Care team for its next meeting, Tuesday, April 25th, at 7:00 p.m. in the Hearth Room
