Assignment Sheet No. 5 (Projection of Solids I)

Solve all the problems on one page (right hand side) of your sketch book using normal

drawing tools. These problems shall then be done using AutoCAD and the print out of the

same shall be pasted on one page (left hand side) opposite the solutions done by hand.

    1. Draw projections of a hexagonal prism of side 25 mm and height 75 mm when the axis of theprism is perpendicular to the VP.

    2. Draw projections of a hexagonal pyramid of side 25 mm and height 75 mm when the axis ofthe prism is perpendicular to the VP.

    3. Draw projections of a hexagonal pyramid of side 25 mm and slant height 75 mm when theaxis of the prism is perpendicular to the VP and one side of base is parallel to the VP.

    4. Draw projections of a hexagonal prism of side 25 mm and height 75 mm when the axis of theprism is perpendicular to the HP and one side of base is inclined at 35o to the VP.

    5. Axis of a pentagonal pyramid of side 25 mm and height 100 mm is inclined at 40 o to the HP.Draw its projections when one corner of the pyramid is on HP and 25 mm from VP.

    6. One side of an octagonal prism of side 20 mm and axis height 100 mm is in VP while theaxis of prism is inclined at 75

oto the VP. Draw its projections.

    7. Base of a pentagonal pyramid is inclined at 25o to the HP and one side of base in inclined at40

oto the VP. Draw projections of pyramid if side of base is 30 mm and height is 120 mm.

    8. One face of a hexagonal prism is on the HP while the axis of the prism is inclined at 35o tothe VP. Draw its projections.

Assignment Sheet No. 6 (Projection of Solids II)

Solve all the problems on one page (right hand side) of your sketch book using normal

drawing tools. These problems shall then be done using AutoCAD and the print out of the

same shall be pasted on one page (left hand side) opposite the solutions done by hand.

    1. A pentagonal prism, side of base 30 mm and height 75 mm, rests on one of its base cornerson HP such that its long edge containing the corner is inclined to the HP at 60

    oand the side

of base, opposite the corner, inclined at 30o

to the VP. Draw its projections keeping the base

    towards the VP.

    2. A hexagonal pyramid, side of base 30 mm and axis 60 mm long, has one of its slant edges inHP. A plane containing that edge and the axis is perpendicular to HP and inclined at 40

    oto

VP. Draw the projections of the pyramid when the base corner contained by the slant edge is

50 mm from VP. Its vertex is nearer to VP than its base.

    3. Draw projections of a hexagonal prism, base edge 30 mm and length of axis 75 mm, is lyingon one of its longer edges in VP and the axis inclined at 40

oto the HP. The rectangular face

containing the longer edge, on which the prism rests, is inclined at 30o

    to the VP.

    4. A hexagonal pyramid, edge of base 30 mm and axis 65 mm long, is held on VP on one of itsslant edges. A plane containing the edge and axis of the pyramid is perpendicular to the VP

    and inclined at 45o

to the HP. Draw the front and top views of the pyramid when its vertex is

    kept towards the HP.

    5. A right circular cone, diameter of base 50 mm and height 65 mm, rests on its base rim on HPwith its axis inclined at 45o to HP and inclined at 30o to VP. Draw its projections.

    6. A hexagonal prism, edge of base 30 mm and axis 70 mm long, is held so that an edge of itsbase is parallel to HP. Top vies of this base is inclined at 45

oto the XY line, while its axis

    makes an angle of 60o

to the HP. Draw its projections.

    7. Draw projection of a right circular cylinder of base diameter 50 mm and length of axis 70mm. Its axis is inclined at 45

oto the HP and top view of the axis is inclined at 60

    oto the VP.

    8. A right circular cylinder, 34 mm diameter and 54 mm long, is fixed centrally on top of ahexagonal prism of 30 mm side and 30 mm height. Draw projections of the combination

when the prim is resting on one of its base edges on HP such that the base edge is

perpendicular to VP and axis is inclined at 30o

to the HP. Corner of prism is 20 mm from VP.
