Comparison

The two music videos have different targeted demographics and therefore contrasting functions. Blank Space is used to promote Taylor Swift by making an extravagant and therefore memorable music videos using aspects that would appeal to her mainstream, mostly female audience such as the use of a famous male model and expensive clothes. Stolen Dance on the other hand is a lot more simplistic and focuses more on the artistry of Milky Chance’s music by using projections that simply add a visual pleasure to his singing. This artist is appealing to a more niche audience however as his music is less mainstream than Taylor Swift’s and due to the fact he is not as well known, there the function of the video is to promote his music and the authenticity of the artist.
