3._____GEOLOGY
3.1 REGIONAL GEOLOGY
The area is underlain by intermediate and mafic metavolcanics, sediments of
Gowganda Formation (Coleman Members) and diabase dykes.

3.2 PROPERTY GEOLOGY
The property is primarily underlain by mafic volcanics with scattered amphibolite and
syenite dykes. Two large quartz vein systems were uncovered on the central part of
the property (see Figure 2). Vein No. l trends approximately 35 0 NE while vein No. 2
runs about 42 0 NE. The veins are generally barren of mineralization with minor
sulphides in some of the wall rock.
4. LINE CUTTING
Three separate crews completed the line cutting on the Hyde claims amounting to
36. 1 79 kilometres. Line cutting took place between October 25 and November 21,
1987 with the majority of the cutting (25.37 kilometres) being completed by Laforest-
Hlava Exploration Services Ltd. (Appendix 3). Lines were established at b 00 foot
intervals with pickets every 100 feet.
5. _____ SAMPLING
M ____ SOIL SAMPLING
A total of 218 soil samples were taken between October 18 and 25, 1987. Sampling
was done at 25 foot spacings and at a depth of approximately l foot. The area of
primary sampling was between lines 1200 W and 800 E and up to 600 feet north and
south of the baseline. Results were disappointing with little consistency between
values (Appendix I).
5.2 ROCK SAMPLING
A total of 68 rock samples were taken between September 21 and November 3, 1987.
The bulk of the samples were from the 2 main quartz veins (see Figure 2). All samples
were tested for Au with 4 samples being run for multi-element analysis. Again results
were poor with only one isolated sample returning 0.24 oz gold/ton (Appendix H).

6._____STRIPPING
A program of mechanical stripping was carried out between October l and 20, 1987.
From October l to 10, a bulldozer (D7) was used for a total of 54 hours. Between
October 10 and 20, the bulldozer was replaced by a backhoe to get at trouble areas,
amounting to 65 hours of work. After this, 21.5 man days were spent spraying down
and clearing the outcrop of all debris. The stripping revealed 2 large quartz veins,
extending several hundred feet averaging 2 feet in thickness but up to 6 feet in a few
locations.
7._____MAPPING
Detailed mapping was carried out on the 2 main veins at a scale of l" to 12'.
Approximately 8 man days were spent setting up a grid and mapping the vein systems.
Two maps were produced as a result.
A generalized map, at a scale of l" to 200', shows vein locations and bulldozer trails
relative to grid (Figure 2).
8._____GEOPHYSICS
The geophysical work on the Hyde claims was carried out by Laforest-Hlava
Exploration Services Ltd. of Timmins (Appendix III). Both ground magnetometer and
VLF-EM 16 electromagnetic surveys were conducted on the grid.
The magnetometer survey was completed over 38.52 kilometres and over
1,200 readings were taken. Results indicate the probable presence of 3 varieties of
rock units underlying the grid (Appendix III).
The electromagnetic survey totalled almost 1,200 readings over 35.6 kilometres.
Thirty-two individual anomalies were interpreted to warrant further evaluation
(Appendix III).

9. CONCLUSIONS
Overall results were not encouraging. In order to fully evaluate the potential of the
property, further geological mapping and sampling will be necessary. At present
however further work is not anticipated.

REGIONAL GEOLOGY (FIGURE 3)
The regional geology shown on Figure 3 is a portion of the Ontario Department of Natural Resources Map No. 2205. The area is underlain by intermediate and mafic metavolcanics, sediments of Gowganda Formation (Coleman Member) and diabase dikes.
PROPERTY GEOLOGY
The details regarding the property geology were not available to the author at the time of writing of this report. The geophysical crew noted the presence of 71 out crops within the property.
LINE CUTTING
The grid was chained utilizing the Imperial System. The grid lines were established in a true north-south direc tion at 400 feet (121.92 m) intervals with pickets at 100 ft. (30.48 m) intervals. The main base line and two tie lines (TL 24 * 00 N and TL 20 * 00 S) were established on the property.
GROUND MAGNETOMETER SURVEY
The ground magnetometer survey was completed utilizing a proton magnetometer capable of reading total field values to an accuracy of ±1 gamma. The main base station was established at BL O * 00 with the value of 59787 gammas. Secondary base stations were established at 100' (30.48 m) intervals along the base line and along the tie line to provide data for diurnal corrections. Diurnal variation was corrected by tieing in to the base stations at the time intervals less than 60 minutes. Maximum misclosure was 22 gammas. A total of 1,266 readings were taken.

VLF-EM 16 ELECTROMAGNETIC SURVEY
The electromagnetic survey was carried out utilizing a Geonics EM-16, VLF-EM receiver. The unit measures the vertical In-phase component (tangent of the tilt angle of the polarization ellipsoid) and vertical Out-of-phase component (the short axis of the polarization ellipsoid compared to the long axis) of the secondary field generated in the vicinity of conductors.
The transmitter station used for the survey was NAA Cutler Maine with the frequency of 24.0 kHz. The azimuth to the station (NAA) is 140 0 . All the readings were taken with the operator facing north.
A total of 1,170 readings were taken within the property.
SURVEY RESULTS - MAGNETOMETER
The results of the ground magnetometer survey are presented on Map 1 in a back pocket. The maximum magnetic relief within the property is 12,263 gammas in the north western portion of the property.
The prominent magnetic linear magnetic high between L 16 W 8 * 0 0 N and Line 8 E 5 t 00 S is probably due to the presence of ultramafic sill. The northwestern portion of the property is underlain by volcanics and the remainder of the property is probably underlain by felsic intrusive and/or sediments.
SURVEY RESULTS - VLF EM
The survey results are presented on maps in back pocket as follows:
Map 2 - Fraser Filter NAA station
Map 3 - Profiles - In-Phase and Quadrature NAA station
A total of 32 individual anomalies were interpreted and are labeled numerically from 1 to 32 on Map 2 in a back pocket. The following table is a summary and brief descrip tion of all anomalies detected by the present survey.

A total of 32 VLF-EM 16 conductors were located during the present survey.
Anomalies 2, 13, 18, 30 and 32 display direct magnetic correlation and probably are at least partly due to the pre sence of pyrrhotite.
Anomalies 1, 9 and 24 display negative magnetic cor relation which could indicate the presence of alteration.
All of the conductors detected by the present survey deserve further evaluation.
Prior to evaluating the anomalies as potential drill targets, Watts, Griffis McOuat should complete detailed
CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS (Cont'd)
geological mapping and geophysical surveys. Grid lines at- 100' spacing should be established over the target areas and magnetometer and VLF-EM surveys should be conducted at 25' intervals.
Once this data is available, a meaningful decision can be made regarding the anomalies that may require further evaluation by trenching or drilling.
