ABOUT THE SEMINAR Assessment of challenges and opportunities that exist in higher education needs to be ascertained in the context of present times. The seminar aims to provide a platform for discussion on identification, sustenance, promotion and institutionalization of best practices that are integral to improving the academic and administrative performance of the institution. Practices that aim to facilitate the creation of a learner-centric environment are a must for quality education and faculty evolvement. These include innovative use of ICT in higher education to facilitate the teaching-learning process. Similarly the establishment and nurturing of research culture at college level is a measure to create knowledge and develop independent, innovative thinking minds. Competencies in academics need to be supported with developing skill sets with global relevance creating young citizens who can contribute in nation development at large. It is also important to adopt practices that foster value systems pertaining to social and moral resonsibilities in students. The seminar hopes to enrich its participants by exposing them to knowledge and expertise of eminent speakers and discussions on relevant issues.
