ABOUT THE SEMINAR
Assessment of challenges and opportunities that exist in higher
education needs to be ascertained in the context of present
times. The seminar aims to provide a platform for discussion
on identification, sustenance, promotion and
institutionalization of best practices that are integral to
improving the academic and administrative performance of
the institution. Practices that aim to facilitate the creation of a
learner-centric environment are a must for quality education
and faculty evolvement. These include innovative use of ICT
in higher education to facilitate the teaching-learning process.
Similarly the establishment and nurturing of research culture at
college level is a measure to create knowledge and develop
independent, innovative thinking minds. Competencies in
academics need to be supported with developing skill sets with
global relevance creating young citizens who can contribute in
nation development at large. It is also important to adopt
practices that foster value systems pertaining to social and
moral resonsibilities in students. The seminar hopes to enrich
its participants by exposing them to knowledge and expertise
of eminent speakers and discussions on relevant issues.
