c) Business practices for promoting 'Green Economy' and sustainable production and consumption post Rio+20

The objective is to create a thematic knowledge base that would feed the discussion on sustainable consumption and production at international level as a contribution to the global green economy research agenda. Activities should focus on developing and supporting a network for global exchange of best practices between EU and non-EU actors involved in sustainable consumption and production.

Securing the Green Economy in ‘ordinary cities’: private, public and civic strategies for economic performance in developed city regions.

• Generate a typology of strategies for securing the green economy in cities

• Wider international focus in developed cities: Baltimore, Hull and Humber Region, Bremerhaven, perhaps Japanese or South Korean examples.

• Including public private finance, role of local, regional and national state, role of civic participation and actors.

• Retaining focus on post industrial cities, maybe ports, cities with non global aspirations.
