TENTATIVE PROGRAM/CONTENT

Easter weekend: 13 - 16 April, 2017 (optional*) - SeoulParticipants could spend their Easter weekend in Seoul, If we are lucky this will coincide with the amazing cherry blossoms. Seoul has a population of over 25.4 million people. It’s absolutely ginormous and the third largest metropolitan area in the world, behind only Tokyo and Jakarta. In just 50 years Seoul has grown to one of the world’s most modern and vibrant megacities and one of the hottest tourist destinations in Asia.

Monday 17 April, 2017 - SeoulThe program starts Gangnam style in the area by the same name in Seoul, with a visit Maru180 amongst others with matchmaking and pitching sessions. Naturally Samsung is on the VR-screen in Korea. Furthermore we will tune into why K-pop relevant and learn why Kakao is still the talk in town! Ever heard of Jeju the flying bike? Advertising/content agencies will give us more VR-cases to be inspired by.

Tuesday 18 April, 2017 - BeijingCheck out from hotel. Early flight over to Beijing and THE #beiarea, to be updated about where the future lies! We land at co-working place for an inspirational lunch with speakers from TechInAsia, the no 1 source of tech news and then entrepreneurial stories to learn and be inspired of. Then a visit to 87870, which is the No.1 VR platform for both news and products to dig deeper and find out more about launching in China. Evening meetup to explore more what makes the heart and minds of Chinese millennials tick.

Wednesday 19 April, 2017 - BeijingNordic networking breakfast with speakers from our own embassies, trade associations and other local supporting teams. Then more about BAIDUs newly opened AR-lab to envision what the google of China is searching for. Thereafter different tracks to suit the agenda of the visit in China with optional pitching and matchmaking activities. Before we’re too tired we leave with an early evening flight to wake up in the Silicon Valley of hardware, Shenzhen, the new innovation engine of China. Late arrival and hotel check-in.

Thursday 20 April, 2017 - ShenzhenChina is quite successfully leading the business model for VR-arcades, therefore a visit and intro to HTC’s VIVE café in Shenzhen is a must during the tour. In the afternoon companies can choose between programs and visit either mobile firms, studios, DJI (drones), IOT-accelerators or simply the largest electronics market in the world Huaqiangbei! Later on we will host a joint VR-event with the local StartupGrind community and Chinapreneurs to share knowledge/demo and network with local entrepreneurs and investors.

Friday 21 April, 2017 - Hong KongWe start early with a cross border bus from Shenzhen. After a must have Dim Sum lunch, we visit Facebook to learn more about WeChat-ification and their Asia plans. Hotel check-in to freshen up for a packed afternoon and evening event where participants can showcase, meet and mingle with the movers and shakers in town at METTA, to sign the final (licensing-, VC-…) deals before rooftop drinks and farewells!

Saturday & Sunday 22 - 23 April, 2017 (optional*) - Hong KongHong Kong is the mecca of Fun so stay over the weekend for additional meetings, sightseeing, shopping & partying! We recommend you to have this extra day for follow up or spontaneous meetings arranged during the trip.

*Depending on arrival and departure dates, participants may want to stay longer.

PRACTICAL INFORMATION

FlightsAll flights are booked and payed individually by the participants.

We recommend you to fly with SAS or Finnair departing and returning to Stockholm/Oslo/Helsinki, choose multiple destinations and Hong Kong as your returning city back home. For ease, we strongly recommend all participants to book the same flights as the organizers between Seoul - Beijing - Shenzhen.

PassportPlease check your passport, it has to be valid for 6 months after entry in China (minimum until Oct 17, 2017). Note that it takes 5-10 business days to get a new passport and you also need to drop it off at the Chinese VISA centre during 4-7 business days.

VISAAll participants need to arrange a Chinese Tourist VISA for the visits to Beijing and Shenzhen. It takes normally 4 - 7 business days to get a visa, so please apply no later than April 3rd. The visa must be obtained prior to entry. Tourist visa allows a foreign citizen to cross the Chinese state border once on entry and once on departure. The visa is valid for 30 days.

1. You need to book your flights and hotel in Beijing and Shenzhen before being able to apply for visa.

3. When you are ready with the online application, please print the application and sign it.

4. Go to the Chinese visa centre in your city:

Stockholm: Karlavägen 108, Stockholm Office Hours: 9:00 - 15:00 (Monday - Friday) Closed due to holidays April 4th and 14th.

Olso: Holmenveien 5, Vinderen, Oslo Office Hours: 9:00 - 11:30am (Monday to Friday, excluding holidays)

Helsinki: Vanha Kelkkamaki 9, Kulosaari, 00570, Helsinki Office Hours: 9:00 - 11:30am (Monday to Friday, excluding holidays)

If you cannot come in person, you may entrust someone else or a travel/visa agent to drop off your application at the visa centre. (Please call the visa centre beforehand and inform them).

5. Please bring all the required documents below to the Visa Centre:

Printed copy of application form, completed and signed

Printed copy of flight tickets to and from Beijing and Hong Kong. All bookings must be confirmed and payed and show the name of the traveller. Flight booking must show both outbound and return flight.

Printed copy of your hotel booking in Beijing and Shenzhen. All bookings must be confirmed and payed and show the name of the traveller.

Passport with at least two continuous unstamped pages, valid for 6 months from the application date. Note that damaged passports may be rejected at the embassy or when you arrive in the country.

Passport photo of you in size 3.5 x 4.5 cm (taken no longer than 6 months prior to the application submission). There are photo automates at the visa centre as well.

6. After 4-7 business days you can go to the Visa Centre again and pick up your tourist visa together with your passport. You pay for the VISA at the pickup (approximately 780 SEK / 600 NOK / 60€)

NORDIC VR TOUR 2017The VR Tour aims to connect the best Nordic start-ups, supporting ecosystems and companies and organizations wanting to explore, learn and network with the the VR-industry in Seoul, Beijing, Shenzhen and Hong Kong. Furthermore introduce companies to studios, investors, distribution channels and relevant companies for licensing. Participants will meet both big corporations as well as entrepreneurs and spokespeople from tech-media and local startup hubs and organizations.

The program and activities are planned together with input from participants, suggestions from the supporting organizations in relevant industries and in partnership with people from the local ecosystems and sponsors. We aim to give everyone an unforgettable trip with inspiration and new insights that will result in new business opportunities and ideas to stay ahead and be successful internationally.
