Low Carbon Green Growth Expo 2011, ANMC 21—Asia Zone: Overview
As part of our efforts to promote economic exchange among member cities, the “Asian Network of
Major Cities 21—Asia Zone” (hereafter “Asia Zone”) was set up within the Low Carbon Green
Growth Expo 2011, which was convened concurrently with the10th Plenary Meeting in Seoul.
This Expo is considered one of the largest environmental exhibitions in South Korea. Exhibitors
in the ASIA Zone included Tokyo-based small- and medium-sized businesses with state-of-the-art
proprietary environmental technologies looking to expand into the Korean market as well as
businesses and trade promotion authorities from other parts of Asia. The ASIA Zone exhibition
represented a great opportunity to learn about a broad mix of innovative products and technologies
with great future potential. A summary of the exhibitors and an overview of the Expo are provided
below.
■ Overview of the Low Carbon Green Growth Expo 2011
Hosted by South Korea’s Ministry of Environment under the slogan of achieving a 30% reduction in
greenhouse gas emission by year 2029 through fostering green industry development and
environmental living practices, this trade show will showcase a wide range of eco-friendly and low
carbon sectors and technologies.
