It has grown so strong and dependable that newcomers who flock to eat mooncakes assume it has always been.” – Philadelphia Inquirer, 9/21/2007 About Asian Americans United Founded in 1985, AAU has worked in Phila- delphia’s Asian American communies and in broader mulracial coalions around quality educaon, youth leadership, community safe- ty, and folk arts and cultural resilience. About Asian Americans UnitedFounded in 1985, AAU has worked in Phila-delphia’s Asian American communities and in broader multiracial coalitions around quality education, youth leadership, community safe-ty, and folk arts and cultural resilience.

Now in its 18th year, the Mid-Autumn Festival attracts thousands to Philadelphia’s Chinatown to celebrate old traditions and establish new ones to mark the Harvest Moon. Youth give a day of service, restaurants donate food, artists offer their talents, businesses and orga-nizations chip in money – hundreds of people work together to make the festival our own.

Previous sponsors have included HSBC Bank, PNC Bank, Health Partners, Dish TV, the Philadelphia Corporation for the Aging, and others, including Chinatown’s robust business community. The Festival is also supported by the National Endowment for the Arts, the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, the Philadelphia Cultural Fund, and the Greater Philadelphia Traditions Fund
