Lots of people love usingFacebook, Twitter and chatrooms. There is nothing wrongwith chatting to your friends inthis way. However, it’s reallyimportant that you keep yourselfsafe, so we asked our students togive us their safeguarding tips:

1 If ever meeting up withsomebody who is alien toyou or your friends makesure that you meet them ina group of at least 2-3 andin a public, well lit andpopulated area.

2 Inform somebody of whereyou are going and what timeyou should be back, alsothe name of who you aremeeting.

3 Don’t accept anyone onsocial networking sites thatyou don’t know.

4 Remember never to trustanyone who you have metonline, you don’t know whatthey are capable of doing.

5 Never tell a stranger onnetwork sites or chat roomsanything personal aboutyourself, eg. Where you live,date of birth etc.

6 Never meet anyone youdon’t know, simple as!
