Finally, I would like to congratulate 5/6S who performed at Ashcroft High School as part of an Arts showcase. 5/6S performed ‘Hard Knock Life” from the musical Annie. All students looked magnificent and their performance was fantastic. 3-6 Sports Gala Day On Thursday 1st December our 3-6 students will be participating in the Term 4 Sports Gala Day. We will be competing against our local schools. All 3-6 students are required to participate. Each school will host a different sport: Cartwright PS Senior and Junior Netball Busby PS Senior and Junior Newcombeball Miller PS Senior and Junior Frisbee Heckenberg PS Senior Cricket Ashcroft PS Junior Cricket

V8 Students on Track Friday 2nd December 2016 selected students will be attending the V8 Supercars Students on Track excursion. Please remember to wear full school uniform including a school hat and bring your lunch, recess, lots of drinks and sunscreen. We will be leaving school at 8.30am and are hoping to return to school by 3.00pm

NSW Cricket – World Record Attempt On Friday 2nd December selected students from our school have been invited to participate in an exciting initiative by Cricket NSW. They are attempting to break a world record for having the largest number of children take part in a cricket coaching lesson, which will be hosted by Australian Men’s Team Coach Darren Lehmann, along with some Australian Cricketers. Their aim is to have 600 participants. Students will be leaving school at 8.30am by bus, travelling to the SCG and returning by 3.00pm.

Stage 2 Fun Day – Trolls Movie Monday 12th December all of our Stage 2 students will be attending the end of year Fun Day excursion to “TROLLS the Movie” (PG).

Please remember to wear full school uniform including a school hat and bring your lunch, recess and drinks. We will be leaving school at 9.00am and returning before 3.00pm.

K-2 Fun Day This year our K-2 students will be celebrating the end of the year with a ‘BIG FUN’ picnic day at school on Monday 12th December. All students will be rotating between an awesome 14m obstacle course, picnic lunch and a (PG) movie including popcorn. Everyone will have a fantastic time darting through the treacherous tunnel, squishing through squeeze tubes, scrambling over the challenging hill and racing their friends down the giant slide to the finish.

Year 6 Camp This year our Stage 3 students will be attending Wedderburn Campsite in Wedderburn, on Tuesday 13th and Wednesday 14th December. Students will be participating in archery, rock wall climbing, flying fox, H20 skirmish and night-time program which includes a campfire. These activities may be subject to change, there are wet weather contingency plans in place. A note will be coming home later in the week with information regarding items your child will need to take and also requesting additional medical information. Please ensure all outstanding payments are made by Friday 9th December.

Celebration of Learning Parents, Carers, Family and Friends, You are invited to attend our Celebration of Learning presentation for 2016. Class Awards, Achievement, Academic and Sports awards will be presented at the ceremony. School medals will also be presented to qualifying students and our new Student Leaders for 2017 will be announced. WHEN: Wednesday 7th December 2016 WHERE: The School Hall TIME: 9.15am We hope you are able to join us for this special occasion as we celebrate the success and achievements of our students at Ashcroft Public School.

Year 6 Farewell Thursday 8th December Our Year 6 students and teachers will be celebrating the final year of their schooling at Ashcroft Public School before moving onto High School next year. The Year 6 Farewell is being held at Liverpool Catholic Club from 6.00pm to 9.00pm. Students will receive their graduation certificates and enjoy dinner and dancing with their fellow students. Parents and family members are welcome to attend and see their child receive their graduation certificates from 8.30pm.

Congratulations Girls…

Preschool Graduation On Wednesday 14th December our Preschool students will be celebrating their 2016 Graduation. Family and friends are invited to attend the Graduation celebrations in our Hall from 9.00am. Students will perform a range of songs and will also receive their graduation certificates followed by a party and fun activities including a visit from someone special. A number of our Preschool students will be attending Kindergarten in 2017 at Ashcroft. We congratulate them on their wonderful time this year at Preschool and look forward to welcoming them to our fantastic school next year.

Our P&C is known as the ‘Friends of Ashcroft’. If you are interested in getting involved in our ‘Friends of Ashcroft’ group we will be meeting at 9.15am in the Community Room on the following dates:

Thursday 8th December 9.15am Our ‘Friends of Ashcroft’ group (P&C) brings the school community together. They also raise funds that help provide additional resources for our students. Parents, teachers and community members can help meet the needs of the school community and contribute to decisions about the school. Everyone is invited to come along. We hope to see you there. Morning tea is provided and younger siblings are always welcome.

Counsellor Days at Ashcroft Just a reminder our School Counsellors Jenny & Adrian are available on Tuesday and Thursday each week. If you would like to make an appointment or you would like your child to see the counsellor please contact the office.

Clinician Community Nurse Our Clinician Leanne Stap is also available every Thursday in the Community Room. If you have any concerns about your child’s health or you would like information regarding a health condition or service in our community please contact the office to make an appointment.

Change of contact details

Please remember to notify the office of any recent changes to your contact details including change of address, home telephone and mobile numbers. It is also important to update the contact details of other people nominated as emergency contacts.

If you have a child who is turning 4 before 31st July 2017 they are ready to enrol in Preschool for 2017. Just drop into the office and pick up an application pack. Please note: We will need to sight and take a copy of your child’s original birth certificate, immunisation certificate from Medicare and your proof of address before your child can enrol.

2017 Important Planning Information We are starting to plan our classes for 2017. Please let us know if you will be moving or if your child will be changing schools next year. We also need to know if your child will be returning after the start of the school year. Please complete the tear off section below and return it to the office as soon as possible.

Buy Uniforms NOW for 2017

Our school uniform is required to be worn on a daily basis. Our Uniform Shop is open on Tuesday and Thursday mornings from 8.30am to 9.30am. If you are unable to attend during these times you can pre-order through the office.

Our uniform price list is available from the Office or you can download it from our website www.ashcroft-p.schools.nsw.edu.au in the ‘Our School’ section and then just click on the Uniform tab.

REMINDER: When paying with cash, please write your child’s full name, class, what the payment is for and the amount you are paying on the envelope.
