Gauge: 18 sts x 24 rows = 4” To Save Time Check Your Gauge

Abbreviations:

CO = Cast On BO = Bind Off SM = Slip Marker K = Knit P = Purl PU = Pick Up St(s) = Stitch(es) Special Stitches: Seed Stitch (Works on multiples of 2 sts) Row 1: *K1, P1. Repeat from * across. Row 2: *P1, K1. Repeat from * across. Repeat these 2 rows for pattern.

Front:

In Color B, CO 120 (126, 132, 144, 156) sts, join and work in rounds. Work rounds 1-5 in K1, P1 Seed Stitch. Switch to Color C and begin pattern stitch as follows ( multiples of 6).

Pattern Stitch:

Round 1: Knit

Round 2: *P1, K5 repeat from *

Round 3: Knit

Round 4: Knit

Round 5: K3, P1, *K5, P1; rep from *, end K2.

Continue in this pattern until garment measures 10(11, 11.5, 12, 12.5)”.

Divide work into two sections for front 60 (62, 66, 72, 78) sts and back 60 (64, 66, 72, 78) sts.

Place back stitches on holder.

Working with front stitches, you will now be working back and forth across the needle.

A circular needle can still be used.

Continue in pattern stitch until front measures 11(12, 12.5, 13, 13.5)”.

Divide front into two sections to form placket opening.

Join second ball of yarn and work both sides in pattern until front measures 13 (14,15, 15.5, 16)”.

Begin front neck shaping.

Front Neck Shaping: With RS facing you, in Color C, BO first 8 (8, 9, 9, 10)sts at each neck edge.

Continue in pattern stitch, decreasing 1 st at each neck edge, every row, 5 times.

Work remaining 17,(18, 19, 22, 24) sts until front measures 15 (16, 17, 18, 19)”.

BO Shoulders.

Back:

With RS facing you, PU sts from holder and work back same as front omitting the neck shaping.

When garment reassures 15(16, 17,18, 19)” BO 17(18, 19, 22, 24) sts for shoulder.

Place center 26 (28, 28, 28, 30) sts on holder, and BO remaining stitches for second shoulder.

Sew Shoulder seams together.

Sleeves:

Sleeve is knit from the top down. It is not knit in the round but a circular needle can be used.

The same pattern stitch is used as for sweater body.

In Color C, with RS facing you, beginning at one marker, PU 48 (48, 54, 54, 60) sts, dividing evenly around

opening.

When sleeve measures 6(7, 8, 9, 10)” begin decreasing 1 st each edge, every 3rd row 5 times.

On next row, decrease 4(4, 6, 8) sts evenly across row.

Switch to Color B and work cuff in K1 P1 seed stitch for 5 rows.

BO cuff.

Placket:

With RS facing you, in Color B, Pick up sts 15 (15, 17, 19, 21) sts along each edge for placket.

Work in K1 P1 seed stitch for 5 rows, placing 1 button hole in center of right placket .

BO placket.

Collar:

With RS facing you, in Color A, beginning at right edge of placket opening, pick up 72 (74, 74, 78, 84) sts along

neck opening (including those stitches on holder).

Work in K1 P1 seed stitch for 18-20 rows.

BO loosely.

Pockets:

In Color C, CO 21 sts.

Follow graph for right and left pockets.

Make one of each. (See graph)

Finishing:

Sew sleeve seams together.

Lay right placket over left placket and secure bottom of plackets to sweater.

Sew button on left placket.

Secure pockets to front of sweater.

Block garment.

Left Pocket

Background of pocket is in Color C.

Pocket is worked in Stockinette Stitch from bottom up

until top 2 rows which are worked in Seed Stitch in Color B.
