For my media production, the audience I am mainly aiming my thriller film at are females aged 15 to 25, as there tends to be more conflict between female friends of this age. Men of these ages are also members of the target audience but they usually tend to go for horror films with gore, so they are not the main target audience. The style of my film is fast passed to keep the audience attentive and entertained as to all the events occurring in the production. After researching Maslow’s Hierarchy of Needs, it became clear that safety is one of the main needs humans have, followed by love and belonging. This gave me the opportunity to play on both of these needs as the protagonist isn’t safe because of her ‘friend’. People tend to go to watch a thriller film as it plays on their minds and it allows them to feel the tension, fear and stress of the character of the production without actually being in danger themselves, making them feel a sense of security afterwards as they are not in that position. However, as it the villain is a friend, it partly breaks that sense of security as it could happen to anyone. Who would be the
