Arunachal Pradesh has two highways: the 336 km National Highway 52, which connects Jonai with Dirak, and another highway, which

connects Tezpur in Assam withTawang. Every small town has its own bus station and daily bus services are available. All places are

connected to Assam, which has increased trading activity. An additional National Highway is being constructed following the famous Stillwell Ledo Road, which connects Ledo in Assam to

Jairampur in Arunachal.

Bhalukpong is the entry point to Arunachal. It is famous for Archaeological

ruins of King Bhaluka, an ancient ruler of the region. A historical fort of 10th-12th Century AD is situated in the foothills of the region.The stone remains of the fort can be seen. Some of the important remains of the capital of King Bhaluka and

his grandson Bana of Mahabharata fame have been preserved which speak of its earlier glory.

The mighty river Kameng after completing all turbulent courses enters Bhalukpong in a

serene flow which provides rare opportunity of adventure tourism and a beautiful picnic spot.

Sessa A natural orchid sanctuary amidst chirping birds spread over 10sqKm. Over

2600 Orchids representing 80 species have been cultivated in natural surroundings.It is an exemplary effort of natural resource conservation. The department of

Environment & Forests has developed trekking routes for visitors to enjoy the natural habitats of orchids. There are deep gorges and valleys, high peaks and rugged terrain

that are rewarding for nature lovers and adventure tourists

Bomdila is a beautiful small town situated at a height of about 8000 ft. above

the sea level from where one can see the brilliant landscape and snow-clad mountains of the Himalayan Range. The Buddhist monastery of Bomdila is the

repository of culture and is among primary attractions of the area.

This place has a craft centre displaying local crafts and a shopping centre where the visitors gets first feel of the local version of Himalayan Buddhist life.

It has a lot of attractions for the tourists with its cool climate, Apple orchards, artistic people, snow-capped Himalayan peaks and Buddhist Gompas.

Parasuram Kund is situated within the Kamlang Reserve Forest area. The

Kund is surrounded by dense forest of Ruddhraksha trees, the fruit of which is considered sacred to Hindu ascetics as well as general believers of the faith.

Each year thousands of pilgrims from all over the country congregate onMakarSankranti day, to wash away their sins. A fair (mela) is held during this period.

Tawang monastery is the largest of its kind in the country and

is one of the largest monasteries in Asia.This monastery is the fountain-head of the spiritual life of the people of this region.

Dirang Hot water springs where people take bath for curing skin

ailments, Apple and Kiwi orchards, National Yak Research and Breeding Centre at Nigmadung, Sheep Breeding Farm and Sangti Valley

where Siberian black necked storks visit during winter are the places worth visiting.

Sela Pass On the way to Tawang, Sela Pass is the world’s second

highest motorable pass at 14000 ft with a high altitude serene crystal blue water natural lake. The natural beauty of the surrounding

landscape is a dream come true.
