July 6, 2012 Week 1 & Week 2 Artology 2012 Camp Newsletter Week 1’s theme: Our 5 Senses Artologists examined their natural surroundings using all 5 senses. Some things they spotted: a decomposing snake, a fawn, and miniature berries. Created ‘en plein air’ watercolor paintings Wrote haikus about the outdoors Made origami fire balls and ice cubes Recreated the history of the 1 st 600 million years of earth Performed a climate change experiment- creating and cooling or heating their own greenhouses Went on an “Art Hunt” throughout the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
