WHAT IS DATAFLOW?

Business plan

Integration layer

Infrastructure layer

Data Flow actually flows through the business ecosystem, from consumers through various integrations into data base and infrastructure services and

back.

It’s essential that attention is put to data quality, data availability and supporting documentation to ensure that the data usage does not become a

limiting factor in the whole business processes execution and further digitalization.

CASE VAPO, DATAFLOW MANAGEMENT

Vapo was in a situation where it had a partner for data integrations and another partner for MDM. No one was ultimately responsible of the quality, integrity and usability of data.

Co-operation started with maturity assessment and performing current state – target state analysis. With this information roadmap with clearly defined next steps was created.

CGI is responsible for ensuring connections needed for business development between different systems are in place and function and that the data flow between different systems is coherent, unified, available and up-to-date.

• Data Management (MDM) layer ensures data is of high quality and accessible by right people and systems

• Integration service layer connects background service and business information to electrical channels and takes care of integrations and performance of dataflow between applications

• Digital Experience layer offers an agile and flexible way to develop e-services by using for example Microservices and API Management technologies

• Competence Center combines the above mentioned layers into Data Flow by creating an efficient and reliable platform to manage company’s business critical information.
