Player All projects should utilize the EPRI|U Player to ensure consistent branding. The player is provided using the file EPRIU_Presenter_player.xml. Features

The following modifications should be made for each new project:

1. Ensure that the EPRI|U signature graphic is used in the Logo control. It is provided separately on the Welcome / Course Title slide in the template for inclusion if needed.

2. Enter the actual course title into the Title Feature 3. A glossary can be included using the player glossary and/or as a link on the Topbar Right that opens a PDF

glossary or an Engage Interaction glossary 4. Deselect Resources and/or Glossary if not in use and select Notes if they are provided 5. Deselect Volume, Seekbar, and /or Play / Pause if there is no audio narration or any of these options do not

apply to the course structure

Menu Standard EPRI|U Menu settings:

• Make sure that Section titles are removed if not relevant to the structure of the course. For example, do not leave “Untitled Scene” showing on the menu.

• Verify that slides are in the desired order and named appropriately. Specifically make sure no layout titles are still showing.

Options (gear icon below the menu) are typically set as follows but can be adjusted as appropriate for any given course.

Other From the Player, go to Other

The following options should be selected before publishing:

• Browser size = Resize browser to optimal size • Player size = Scale player to fill browser window • Do NOT select – Launch player in new window • Resume / On restart = Prompt to resume

Theme The EPRI|U theme is provided through the file EPRIU-PPT-Theme.thmx. This theme enables all default master slides, fonts, and colors. You may use this theme or any other color theme for your course as long as you ensure that color contrast meets WCAG 2.1 Level A requirements for accessibility. Template Standard slides, including a title slide and a closing thank you slide, are provided through 2021EPRIU-Presenter 4x3.pptx and 2021EPRIU-Presenter 4x3.ppta if you are using the 4x3 version or 2021EPRIU-Presenter 16x9.pptx and 2021EPRIU-Presenter 16x9.ppta if you are using the 16x9 version. Make sure that both files are in the same folder, depending on if you are using the 16x9 or 4x3 version, and open the .pptx file. This template also includes a wide variety of predefined slide layouts including interactives and quizzes for content that can be used in any course. Developers are not limited to these layouts but are encouraged to use them where appropriate and to change details such as cutout characters to fit the project. Standard Slides The following slides must be used in all projects. All other slides are optional templates.

• Title/Welcome – see below for modifications • About This Course – see below for modifications • Navigating This Course – This is designed so that it does not need modification and fits most courses. Edit if

needed. • Thank you – All courses should end with this slide. Remove the music if the course does not contain audio.

The following slides should be used in all projects, but are not required

• Objectives – All courses should contain learning objectives. Any of the instruction or objective layouts can be used, but no specific design is required.

• Summary or Conclusion – Most courses should end by revisiting the learning objectives and summarizing what has been presented. Any layout can be used. This slide is often a duplicate of the learning objectives slide with wording modified.

Title Slide

The title slide is provided in the template. This slide is typically labeled “Welcome” for the menu. Link the “Start Course” text and bar to the “About this Course” slide.

The Welcome/Title slide must:

• Contain the exact title of the EPRI Product as shown in SAP. Please get the actual product title from the Project Manager and ask them to update SAP (through their POC) if it is not accurate.

• Have the correct copyright year. • Use the EPRI|U signature graphic (provided in the template) on the slide prominently displayed.

Optional Features:

• There is a section for the title of the series or group of courses to which this course or module belongs. If not needed, delete this section.

• Background can be changed as long as it includes the EPRI|U Signature Graphic. • Colors can be changed. • Music can be removed for courses that do not otherwise contain audio. Different music can be used if desired.

This is another possible way to unify a series of courses or modules. • Information on recommended or required prerequisites can be added to the Welcome slide or added as a

separate slide early in the course.

About and Navigation EPRI|U is providing two slides that shall be used in each course. The About and Navigation slides are all within Presenter360 with each button hyperlinked to a different slide containing information for the learner. These can be edited with course specific details for the project. If desired, links can also be added to the player topbar right to launch the slides as lightbox slides. This will enable easy access to navigation help during the course. Note: These slides do not contain audio. If a course will contain audio narration, audio could be added in the same voice if desired. About The about interaction is provided in the 2021 EPRI U Presenter360 file on slide 2 of the Welcome, About, and Navigation section. The hyperlinked About slides are in the About section, slides 4-7. The following edits should be made in Presenter360.

• Update the Course Details layer

1. Enter the exact course name the Project Manager has in EPRI’s SAP database and the EPRI Product ID #. 2. Verify that the copyright year is correct for the course’s completion and publication date. Update if needed. 3. If the course does not contain audio, change the icon and audio statement.

• Update the Acknowledgment slide with appropriate information about the people and/or reports you wish to recognize. Delete the report section at the bottom if it is not used. You may display information in a different format on this layer if needed.

• If there are no Acknowledgments, delete the acknowledgements slide (7), the button on slide 2, and redistribute the remaining three buttons.

Navigation The navigating slide can be found on slide 3 and the hyperlinked navigating slides (8-13) can be found in the Navigating section. The buttons on slide 3 reveals the hyperlinked navigating slides. This slide was designed to cover most variations of the player including courses that do and do not contain audio narration. In most cases, alterations or edits to this slide will not be necessary but use discretion to edit as appropriate for each course.

Engage Interactions EPRI|U is providing two interactions built in Articulate Engage that can be used as optional interactives in a course. These can be edited with the content and inserted into the project. After insertion, the triggers for the buttons on the title slide should be adjusted to launch them. This will enable easy access to navigation help during the course. Use of these templates is optional.

Quizmaster EPRI|U is providing branded Quizmaster templates to use for assessing knowledge within a course. Characters may be swapped out when using the template. You may use other templates and question types. Use of these templates is optional.

Thank You All courses should end with a Thank You slide.

• This slide must be included in all courses. • This slide must contain the course title, the

EPRI|U graphic, instructions for properly closing the course.

• The background image and other features can be changed to fit each course.

• Remove the music if the course does not contain audio or change the music if desired.

Publishing Publishing guidelines are provided in the document PublishingPresenter-JobAid.pdf and should be followed to ensure compatibility with the EPRI|U Learning Management System. It is recommended that all course be published in SCORM 2004 3rd edition.
