Changing Bollywood lyrics.

From black and white to color to three dimensional, from gently uncovering the actress' face to

ripping each others clothes on screen ,the indian cinema has indeed come a long way.

Nearly 60 years back or so the indian film industry was known for potraying the girl next doorimage of its lead actress in most cases,its beautifully crafted music and offcourse the snowy

backgrounds and the chiffon sarees.All this has not completely changed but it has started to

diminsh from the screen.

Script is now the 'king' .Earlier a pretty face used to sell but now script overshadows all the other

aspects like hair and make up and costumes which earlier of utmost importance.A face like

Konkana sen sharma sells more and is taken to be a better and a way natural actress as compared

to the daughter in law of bollywood's first family. Aishwarya rai is a mere object of beauty and is

casted in films which either have a strong male prescene and is needed to add the lamour

quotient or when the director very well knows that the film can not survive alone on the script, soa pretty face becomes important save the sinking ship.

Harman baweja couldn't make a mark in the industry even though coming from a powerful

bollywood background.His movies' Whats your rashee' and 'Love Story 2050' has everything

except a script and acting skills.

The change in the story department has also invited unwanted controversy, the filmmakers are

not afraid of taking up bold issues like human trafficking ,prostitution, child labor, terrorism,

reservation, honour killing, etc.

Dev d for instance wasnt afraid to show on celluloid any sort of intimates scenes and the publiceven appluaded the movie. Many have credited the success the intimate scenes as sex sells but

many did not look at the at the social issues the director took up. He very carefully captured the

infamous delhi school mms scandal and prostitution apart from the epic love story of devdas

being the base of the story.

A movie like fashion according to me helped us youngsters realise that you make your own

rules and things cant be forced upon you unless and until you allow them to.

The industry is also not afraid from pointing a finger at the government and the ministers from

criminal backgrounds.Rang De Basanti whose release took months . The controversy

surrounding it infact brought to the fore and spread among the youth the cheapness and

corruptivity of the government.The movie had an impact on the public.There was outrage among

the youth.the movie was a revolution in its self.

In the recent years promotion of film has become as important as the direction of the film. The

movie making process does not end with last cut.Trade analysts also admit that with so many

films releasing every Friday , it becomes necessary to aware the target audience about ones film

and this can be only attained with the help of promotional schemes.

By promotional schemes am not only regarding to going and singing in malls with

fans,distributing cds but also promotional songs being the latest tactic and interviews, delly

belly for example created a rage among the youth with their song bhag D.K Bose before the

film. What drew the audiences to the cinemas was the anxiousness to find out who is DK Bose.

It was the name DK Bose that lead to the success of the film, be it the DK Bose t shirts or the

DK Bose caps, everybody wanted too know who is this DK Bose.

Coming to the producer of the movie Delly Belly is also known for his marketing strategies

.During the release of the movie 3 Idiots the perfectionist disguised himself as different people

and wemt around the country meeting people as an ordinary man .

Controversies surrounding a film also helps in its promotion. Its kind of a fee free promotion.It

helps the movie to gain momentum.
