Step 1: On top of the canvas, stick the masking tape horizontally, maintaining at least 1 inch between the strips. Paint the canvas portion between the tape with the colour black. Masking tape is applied for precision and so it doesn’t matter if you paint on the tape.

Step 2: Once painted, remove the tape slowly.

Step 3: Turn the canvas in a way that the black lines are at the bottom. Now paste the tapes vertically on the right as well as on the left hand side.
Step 4: Paint the canvas portion between the tapes black and wait till it dries.

Step 5: Carefully remove the tape after the paint has dried without spoiling the rest of the white portion.

Step 6: Now stick two masking tapes on the top side of the canvas with a distance of ½ inch between them. Paint the canvas in between the tapes black, but only the sides, leaving the centre blank.

Step 7: Paint the centre white part of the canvas (on the left side) yellow.

Step 8: Paint the top portion on the right side red.

Step 9: Stick the masking tape and paint it with cobalt blue.

Step 10: Remove the masking tape once the paint dries.
Step 11: Paint the small portion below red only after the cobalt blue has dried completely.
