Art & Healing: the Intersection of Practice Exhibit, Special Viewing Thursday, February 24, 6-8pm RISD Carr Haus, 210 Benefit Street Showcasing various work inspired by RISD’s course, “Art as a Source of Healing.” Exhibit will run February 22-25th, in Carr Haus at 210 Benefit St. Open Mon-Thurs 8:30am-midnight and Friday 8:30am-9pm. Symposium Friday, February 25, 10am-2:30pm Chapel at Brown RISD Hillel (80 Brown St) For the past ten years, RISD and Brown students have intervened in the lives of patients at Bradley Hospital as a part of RISD’s course, “Art as a Source of Healing”. By bringing together cre- ative and medical practitioners, the process of healing has been redefined as creative and collaborative, generating beautiful art alongside meaningful relationships. We will explore the intersec- tions of the artistic and medical worlds, along with the lasting effect that the healing arts can have on patients and facilitators. Brown and RISD alumni, professional practitioners, and keynote presenter Lily Yeh will give various perspectives on integrating the two fields into one’s work, life, and practice.
