Units shown are examples of unit types and may not depict actual units. Stated square footages are ranges for a particular unit type and are measured to the exterior boundaries of the exterior walls and the centerline of interior demising walls and in fact vary from the area that would be determined by using the description and definition of the Unit set forth in the Decla-ration (which generally only includes the interior airspace between the perimeter walls and excludes interior structural components).

ello and welcome to the tropical art world frenzy of Miami Art Week with this golden resource book plenty

of news, a guide to a Miami growing in art hubs, private and public museums and exquisite architecture. Celebrating the 100 year anniversary of Miami Beach, art critic Elisa Turner acknowledges the pleasure for design that brings Design Miami to its 10 year edition. In her ArtCentric column Miami Beach City of Design & Architecture, Celebrating 100th Anniversary (pages 12 - 13) you will find the addresses of the most important architecture celebrities new buildings.

Its taken Wynwood Arts District less time to become an important world class open museum, a mustsee to international curators, collectors and visitors, and the favorite backing for local quinceaeras and brides. Thats why Margery Gordon, art critic, journalist and founder of Art Encounters, devoted her new column Urban Canvas to the Art in the Streets: A Hit List of the Top Ten Sites (pages 16 18): The not-to-be-missed 10 street art murals that you should visit and photograph with your Art Circuits copy on hand, as locals do, since street art is fragile and prone to disappear.

The art fairs map in pages 36 - 43 gives a clear view of 23 art fairs what, when, and where! The

score this year is: 9 art fairs in Miami Beach, 6 in Midtown, 5 in Downtown and 3 in Wynwood. Parking is such a problem that creative solutions include Uber, and buying the art fairs tickets on line.

Many of these art fairs and art galleries show different visions of the art that sprouts from the multicultural world where we live, particularly in Miami - a crossroad South to North. Specifically on pages 58 - 60 youll find a broad circuit of Art in Black Miami, a great initiative of our Greater Miami Convention & Visitors Bureau for Multicultural Tourism.

And last but so Miami is the Miami model, the fact that private museums have superior collections than those in public museums. Dennis Scholl VP from the Knight Foundation told the press recently that Miami is a hotbed for museums, private and public, and on pages 44 - 56 youll find the 4 private museums/collections open to the public and the 17 public museums. A Latin American Art Museum, two Cuban Museums, one Black Museum and a private museum created around the James Turrell light conical installation are in agenda for very soon.

This is your art guide for here and now, also digital and tablet/devices friendly. Subscribe to

Hailed as the billion dollar sandbar, Miami Beach has weathered its share of Florida real estate cycles of

boom and bust. But thanks to its reputation for superb design and architecture, the city can prevail over these changing tides. Now more than ever: in 2015 Miami Beach celebrates its Centennial.

Its billion-dollar boom time for Miami Beach. This high-end sandbar bedazzles residents and visitors with the current wave of internationally famed design and architecture. An international roster of starchitects are building here or have recently built iconic structures, transforming the citys skyline with 21st century Only in Miami glamour.

Consider: Arata Isozaki is now designing an expansion to Bass Museum of Art, Frank Gehry designed New World Symphony concert hall, and Herzog & de Meuron transformed search for parking into an architectural adventure with the extraordinary 1111 Lincoln Road parking garage. Currently underway is Faena Arts Center by Rem Koolhaas. Commissioned but not yet built is Zaha Hadids landmark parking

structure for Collins Avenue.Design + Architecture + Art + Music + Transportation becomes a sure-fire combination delivering unique cosmopolitan cachet.

The Wolfsonian/FIU museum, in Miami Beachs Art Deco district, is a not-to-be missed partner to this cachet. Its peerless collection assembles approximately 120,000 objects from 1885 to 1945, exploring how design shapes and reflects the modern world. The ongoing Art and Design in the Modern Age exhibit presents distinctive objects from the museums collection, from architectural models and decorative arts to books and paintings.

Miami Beach has always been a city in search of design and through design its identity. A spit of sand separated by Biscayne Bay without history or narrative, Miami Beach was primed for imposed structure and ornamentation. Its buildings, parks and even its beaches are a modern invention. First came an Hispano-Moorish style followed by an Art Deco/Moderne impulse. Morris Lapidus made his mark, and now new eyes with new narratives will continue the story, says Wolfsonian museum founder Mitchell Wolfson, Jr.

On Miami Beach, the fair Design Miami/ turns ten this year. Its the foremost fair for collectible design, coinciding with Art Basel Miami Beach in December and Art Basel in

Switzerland in June. The revitalization of Miami Beach, which heralded a new and exciting era for all of Miami, our Citys renaissance, was contrary to most new development in the United States at the time. It was all about architecture, design, art and style. The beautiful Art Deco structures, when adaptively used for our time, were all developed in a boutique style. They were distinct from mainstream commercial projects. This South Beach movement laid a foundation for how our city is perceived as a center for discourse on design today, says Craig Robins, Dacra President and Principal of Design Miami/, which he owns in partnership with Art Basel producers.

Robins was a leader in revitalizing the Art Deco District in the 1980s, which had dwindled into shadows of its former 1930s glory. Its widely considered that the genesis for todays boom in architecture and design is rooted in that prescient move to preserve Art Deco.

From the blocks of restored Deco buildings in South Beach to the incomparable Herzog & de Meuron parking garage on Lincoln Road, says Design Miami/ Executive Director Rodman Primack, Miami Beach is a wonderful place to present a fair about architecture and design, given that both Miami Beach and Miami have amazing examples of both in the built environment.

New this year to Design Miami/ is Design Visionary award, celebrating someone with lasting influence in the field. Inaugural Design Visionary is Peter Marino, renowned architect and designer, also collector of design, visual art, and decorative arts.

In December, Bass Museum of Art presents One Way: Peter Marino. Marino pioneers the nexus of art, architecture, fashion, and design, commissioning artists to create artworks for his projects. The Bass

exhibit will include installations by Jean-Michel Othoniel and Erwin Wurm. Therell also be contemporary art from Marinos personal collection, with works by Keith Haring and Andy Warhol.

In May 2015, Miami Beach gets another international dose of design, with the arrival of Paris-based design trade show Maison&Objet, aiming to reach North and South America.

We chose Miami Beach for Maison&Objet Americas not only for its strategic positioning with quick access to some very important geographic areas, but also for the vibrancy and energy of the city. The Art Deco architecture coexisting so beautifully with the numerous starchitect projects has created a dynamic environment in which these creative endeavors can thrive, says Philippe Brocart, Managing Director of SAFI, which owns Maison&Objet.

Theres no end to bedazzling design on the Beach. Happy 100th Birthday, Miami Beach!

Mark-making on walls is the oldest known art form, with indelible cave paintings and hand

stencils in Europe and Asia dated back at least 40,000 years. The human impulse to inscribe ones name on a permanent surface has been traced to Pompeii, where volcanic ash preserved graffiti, Italian for little scratches. Graffiti was also an early artistic presence in Wynwood, in the 90s when daredevils could get away with tagging abandoned buildings in the gritty Puerto Rican enclave.

Some of those young vandals have since graduated to full-time professions as fine artists and graphic designers. Brandon Opalka exhibits his canvases with Emerson Dorsch (151 NW 24th St.), where his tree mural distinguishes the neighborhoods first gallery, opened in 2000 by co-owner Brook Dorsch.

The Wynwood Arts District now counts more than 70 galleries. Restaurants and bars catering to the influx of hipsters have commissioned homegrown talents like Danny Krave Fila, whose floral initials line the new lounge Brick House (187 NW 28th St.) and trompe loeil caf scene brightens the parking lot of Wynwood Brewing Company (565 NW 24th St.).

Camera crews shoot in front of the artists work, usually in exchange for a credit and licensing fee. But

American Eagle Outfitters plastered the sea of eyeballs at 2701 NW 2nd Ave. on its spring 2014 billboards and store displays without approaching Ahol Sniffs Glue. David Anasagasti a local fixture whose hardworking neighbors inspire his trademark drowsy peepers sued the retail

giant in the U.S. District Court of New York for intellectual property infringement in what could be a landmark case.

Camera-toting tourists and graffiti fans flock daily to one of the worlds largest outdoor installations of urban art. Eight years ago BooksIIII Bischof and Typoe launched Primary Flight to elevate this concrete canvas. They invited 35 artists to walls throughout Wynwood and the Design District, then circulated maps during Miami Art Week that facilitated navigation of an underground art world. Word

quickly spread through the global graffiti circuit, attracting 150 renowned and rising stars until Primary Flight stopped spearheading the annual pilgrimage in 2012.

Among Primary Flights most iconic commissions are repeat performances by Los Angeles-based artists El Mac and RETNA. Their 2008 pairing on NW 24th St. between NW 2nd Ave. and N. Miami Ave. produced the unforgettable black-and-white image of a crouching boy surrounded by cryptic calligraphy. RETNA returned for Primarys fifth anniversary with a towering tribute to Miamis artists on the Wynwood Arts Complex (250 NW 23rd St.).

The endurance of such works is a sign of respect in the precarious terrain of street art. Yet growing sponsors of murals up the ante with fresh paint each December to impress professionals who cross the water from Art Basel Miami Beach.

Every year we look to push the boundaries of imagination and creativity, says Jessica Goldman-Srebnick, chief curator of Wynwood Walls. This open-air museum on NW 2nd Ave. between 25th and 26th Streets has become an epicenter for street art since 2009, when Tony Goldman set out to refine this industrial grid while retaining its edgy aesthetic. After revitalizing South Beach and New Yorks SoHo

through historic preservation and cultural development, Goldman recognized Wynwoods potential in 2004 and bought many warehouses. He and art impresario Jeffrey Deitch co-curated the initial year of murals, importing renowned street artists from Central and South America, Europe and Asia to create original works alongside top national and local talents.

One of the first works they commissioned is an unusual fusion by three New York-based artists. David Elliss psychedelic patchwork laps the sidewalks of NW 22nd St. and NW 1st Place, cresting at the corner where Ben Wolfs construction detritus surges like flotsam from the unmoored palaces printmaker Swoon adhered with wheat-paste.

The growth of Wynwood into an international mecca for the arts is very much the result of great collaborations, says Goldman-Srebnick, promoted to CEO of Goldman Properties in September 2012 when her father died. The Art of Collaboration, this seasons thematic program, honors those combined efforts and showcases artists working together.

Hahn, who have been painting entire favelas in Brazil, is enhancing 295 NW 26th St.

Cleon Peterson is creating his first Miami mural with fellow Los Angeles-based graphic designer Shepard Fairey, infamous for his 25-year stealth campaign OBEY. Faireys collage of cult figures (including Goldman) faces Wynwood Walls entrance.

Kenny Scharfs memorial garden, Tonys Oasis at 2229 NW 2nd Ave., is adding a fountain by the artist from developer Craig Robins collection. In a more traditional public tribute, Wynwoods main drag of NW 2nd Ave. is being renamed Tony Goldman Way in a ceremony at NW 29th St. on Tues., Dec. 2 at 5 pm.

Goldman didnt just open doors for street artists; he erected 15 roll-down gates for them to bomb with smaller compositions, expanding the Walls range in 2010. Some artists entering through the Wynwood Doors go on to more elaborate projects.

Enigmatic Capetown artists DALeast and Faith47 individually adorned doors with animals in November 2012, as well as nearby murals sponsored by the independent organization WorldOpenWalls. The China-born DALeast wound a skydiver suspended on 23rd St. at N. Miami Court in his signature metallic ribbons that appear three-dimensional.

Faith47s golden Multum in Parvo (Latin for Much in Little), part of Goldman-Srebnicks 2013 Women on the Walls program, illuminates a woman offering up a rosary on NW 2nd Ave. at 22nd St. This season at the Walls, Faith47 joins forces with Puerto Rican Alexis Diaz, and DALeast with Angeleno Cryptik.

The Kiev-based collective Interesni Kazki (meaning interesting stories or colors) started on a strip of three doors before AEC (Aleksei Bordusov) and WAONE (Vladimir Manzhos) wrapped Goldman Properties new Wynwood House (331 NW 26th St.) in animated greenery.

Another Ukrainian artist influenced by Russian folklore, Aleksey Kanunnikov a.k.a. Kislow (sour in Slavic), planted Sleeping Forest this spring on Miami Ad Schools new campus at 571 NW 28th St., where his human-bird hybrids have migrated across a pink wall since last fall. He returns from Crimea for the grand opening Dec. 5 that also unveils work by Dome, Morik & Aber, NYCHOS, Omen, Seth GlobePainter, Sheryo & The Yok, Alex Senna and Louis Masai.

The schools first pieces by Kislow, Senna and Masai were among 20 murals Chiara Poderi curated for the 2013 premiere of her organization Wynwood Embassy (W.E) with a pop-up gallery of 45 artists at Mana Production Village. W.Es sophomore outing, staged independently Dec. 4-6 in a tent at 318 NW 2nd Ave., focuses on Herakut, whose massive murals meld expressionistic strokes by Hera (Jasmin Siddiqui) with photorealistic details by Akut (Falk Lehmann).

Poderi selected examples in diverse media, including the German couples recent collaborations with Syrian refugee children in Jordan and recovering teen addicts in Miami. VOICE also unites The Giant Storybook Project, serialized in distant cities with chapters like the wide-eyed waif and monkey huddling against the Downtown Miami skyline since 2012 above NE 14th St. at N. Miami Ave. Stay tuned to see if W.Es 2014 commissions on Manas exteriors advance Herakuts unfolding narrative.
