Company.WHEN. Nel 1987 a Civita Castellana nasce Artceram. WHAT. L’attivitá inizia con la produzione di lavabi per il mercato dei mobilieri del settore bagno per poi svilupparsi, nel 2000, con la creazione di un'identitá propria attraverso la collaborazione di designers internazionali. Nel corso degli anni, la specializzazione porta l’azienda ad orientarsi verso altri elementi tipici dell’area bagno. L’evoluzione strategica si ha nel 2006 con la collezione La Fontana che prevede per la prima volta una linea completa di sanitari ed elementi d’arredo con colonne-lavabo.

WHEN. In 1987 Artceram began its activity in Civita Castellana. WHAT. At the beginning the company focused on the production of basins for the bathroom furnishing industry. In 2000 Artceram developed its own brand identity through the collaboration of international designers. Along these years the company, achieving more and more specialization, began the production of new furnishing elements for the bathroom. The strategic evolution occurs in 2006 with the brand new collection La Fontana featuring a complete collection of sanitaryware and furnishing pieces such as a column-basin structure.

"The Artceram" é uno studio, in continua evoluzione, su prodotti originali, freschi e ambiziosi, accomunati da spirito di innovazione. Move into The Artceram! «All the good 60s bands started with a "the"» (The Commitments, Roddy Doyle, 1987)"The Artceram" is a new program started in 2007 that proposes a selection of products already present into the Artceram catalogue together with new collections developed by young designers, with that particular "the": rewording Roddy Doyle «all the good products start with a "the"». Showroom.Il nuovo showroom Artceram occupa gli spazi di una chiesa costruita nel 1577 dai frati cappuccini; un luogo suggestivo e adiacente agli stabilimenti Artceram, dove coesistono in un equilibrio perfetto la tradizione e l’innovazione, la storia di Civita Castellana e la sperimentazione nella produzione ceramica. Da chiesa a distaccamento degli allievi ufficiali nel 1882, fino a trasformarsi in una fabbrica di sanitari nel 900. Nel 2004, una profonda opera di restauro fa rivivere questi spazi storici che Artceram utilizza per raccontare le proprie collezioni e la propria storia. The new showroom projected by Artceram is based in a church built in 1577 by cappuccini friars; a charming place next to the company where tradition and innovation as well as the history of Civita Castellana and the experiece in the production of ceramics mingle together in a perfect balance. From church to distaccamento degli allievi ufficiali in 1882 till the turning into a factory producing sanitaryware in 1900. In 2004 after a deep restoration the church returns to life and Artceram decides to use this space in order to present its collection and tell about its history.

Artceram negli ultimi anni ha fatto della zona lavabo il suo focus strategico, sperimentando modi originali per integrare le varie funzioni che caratterizzano quest’area: lavabo, rubinetteria, piano d’appoggio, contenitori, mensole, luce, specchio. Con Il Cavalletto assistiamo ad una piccola rivoluzione del mobile bagno. Fino ad ora il piano del lavabo é sempre stato concepito come un’area bidimensionale, base d’appoggio per lavabo, rubinetti ed accessori vari. Il Cavalletto mette in linea tutti gli elementi, disponendoli in fila indiana su di una barra di ceramica sorretta da due cavalletti di legno. Un vero e proprio banco da lavoro all’interno della zona bagno, sia per lui che per lei, quindi una zona dedicata alla pulizia del corpo, ma anche una zona lavora dedicata al make-up, con luce direzionabile tramite lampada a braccio. Tutti gli elementi in linea si possono muovere e, volendo, anche intercambiare a piacimento. Il lavabo scelto é La Ciotola 46, che viene posizionata al centro, sulla sua destra o sulla sua sinistra puó essere posizionato il rubinetto a canna alta (in alternativa puó essere fissato a parete), negli estremi della trave alloggiano indifferentemente un piccolo ripiano di ceramica e la lampada da tavolo Kelvin Led venduta in co-branding con Flos.

Artceram always experiments original solutions to expand the functionality of the washbasin area, mixing in different ways the different functions (basin, taps and fittings, shelves, towel rails, light, mirror, ...). Il Cavalletto represent a small revolution in bathroom furniture, expanding the functionality of bathroom furnishing elements, re-arranging them into a small space. All the elements are aligned along a 16 cm deep ceramic bar supported by two wooden trestles. The elements can be moved along this line. The washbasin is placed at the center, with the faucet that can be placed on the right or the left (or on the wall). The ends of the bar contain a small ceramic shelf and Kelvin LED table lamp, co-branded with Flos with adjustable head and the switch located in the head.

Naked System.Designed by Meneghello Paolelli Associati

Naked é un lavabo a bordo fino che nasce come estremizzazione e virtuosismo nella lavorazione della ceramica. Un lavabo utilizzato come vasca di grandi dimensioni in cui tutta l’ampia superficie diventa catino contenitivo. Per Naked sono stati creati Slitta e Trapezio due mobili bagno “nudi”, che lasciano a vista il telaio realizzato in legno rovere, rovere sbiancato e wengé. Un progetto che richiama la linearitá, l’eleganza e l’essenzialitá del design scandinavo. I due telai hanno un ampio piano di appoggio e una barra portasalviette in legno.

Naked is a washbasin which represents an extreme result in the ceramic process, thanks to its thin rim. It can be used as a sink of wide dimensions for its large basin.For this item, we have created two “naked” bathroom furnitures Slitta and Trapezio with an “open” frame in oak, whitewash oak and wengé. A project which reminds the essentiality, the elegance and the simplicity of the Scandinavian design.The two frames have a wide shelf and a wooden towel bar.

Compatto e di profonditá davvero minima, il nuovo lavabo Back é presentato nelle due versioni da parete, a terra o sospesa. La rubinetteria puó essere a parete oppure appoggiata a destra del lavabo. Realizzato in Livingtec, nelle finiture bianca lucida o bicolore bianco e nero.

Compact with a very little depth from the wall, the new washbasin Back is presented in two versions: back to wall or wall-hung. The faucet can be placed on the wall or to the right of the basin. Back is made of Livingtec, available in white or in black&white gloss finish.

Una citazione leggera, il lavabo centrostanza Cup é un ironico omaggio alla tazzina da caffé, icona italiana per eccellenza, espressione di un quotidiano normale dove il manico della tazza diventa un “utile” porta salviette. Un chiaro riferimento alla Pop Art che attinge provocatoriamente i propri soggetti dall’universo dell’uso e del consumismo quotidiano. Realizzato in Livingtec, nelle finiture bianca lucida o bicolore bianco&nero.

A light citation, Cup is a freestandig washbasin, an ironic tribute to the coffee cup, the Italian icon for excellence. The handle of the cup becomes a “useful” towel rail. A clear allusion to Pop Art, which taps into its provocative subject from the universe of consumerism. Cup is made of Livingtec in white colour, or in black and white gloss finish.

Hall: non un lavabo centrostanza, ma una reinterpretazione del lavabo a colonna. Nel proprio ventre un foro morbido e sinuoso scalfisce la matericitá della ceramica, violata e risucchiata al proprio interno come una grossa goccia d’acqua che si infrange su di una superficie. Hall si appoggia a muro nascondendo i flessibili dell’acqua e lo scarico e mantenendo cosí una perfetta pulizia formale.

Hall: is not a freestanding washbasin, but a reinterpretation of the column washbasin. In its belly a soft, sinuous hole scratch the materiality of ceramics, violated and sucked their numbers as a big drop of water that breaks on a surface. Hall relies on hiding the flexible wall and the discharge of water and so keeping a clean form.

Sharp nasce come elemento architettonico, una colonna estrusa, messa in torsione e sfaccettata. É un progetto formalmente rigoroso, freddo e tagliente. La rotazione del catino rispetto alla base crea una rete di punti attraverso i quali vengono costruite le otto superfici triangolari che compongono la struttura. Sharp puó essere utilizzato sia freestanding, con scarico a terra che appoggiato a parete, con scarico a muro. Il lavabo é infatti studiato in modo tale che la sfaccettatura posteriore sia complanare alla parete, consentendo cosí il perfetto accoppiamento lavabo-parete. La vasca completa le sfaccettature delle pareti, facendole convogliare verso lo scarico dell’acqua. Sharp é realizzato in Livingtec nella finitura bianca lucida.

Sharp is an architectural element, an extruded column that makes a twist and splits into faces. It is a rigorous, cold and sharp washbasin. The rotation of the basin from the base creates a network of points through which the eight triangular surfaces that compose the structure are created. Sharp may be used free-standing, with the drain on the ground, and back to wall, with the drain on the wall. The design of the basin allows the back face to be parallel to the wall. Sharp is made of Livingtec available in white gloss finish..

Avete mai visto dei sanitari con quattro gambe? Cow é una nuova linea di sanitari e lavabi diversa da tutte le altre, caratterizzata da quattro piedi di appoggio. La primaria fonte d’ispirazione é il mondo neoclassico in cui le gambe del mobile sono l’elemento caratterizzante il design. Nell’evoluzione stilistica i sanitari Cow assumono una struttura ibrida tra sospeso e a terra, una forma ammiccante e giocosa dalle linee morbide che ricordano la sagoma di una mucca: da qui il nome della collezione. Cow include i sanitari, il lavabo centrostanza, la semicolonna sospesa ed infine i lavabi d’appoggio e sospesi in due misure. Eccetto il lavabo centrostanza in Livingtec, il resto della collezione é in ceramica.

Have you ever seen a sanitaryware range with 4 legs? Artceram has made it for the first time with Meneghello Paolelli Associati who amaze again with the Cow project: a new sanitaryware range very different from any other, characterized by a 4 legs support. The main source of inspiration is the neoclassical world in which the furniture is characterized by the 4 legs. In the evolution of style, the Cow collection has a hybrid structure between wall-hung and back to wall sanitaryware; an amazing and playful shape whose soft lines remind the shape of a cow: here’s the name of the collection. Cow includes sanitarywares, the freestanding washbasin, the wall-hung/countertop semi column washbasin and the wall-hung/countertop washbasins in two different sizes (60 and 80). Except for the freestanding washbasin which is in Livingtec, the whole collection is in ceramic. "Dual" é il primo sistema bivalente che permette di adattare le quote cantiere dettate dalla normativa EN38 per i vasi sospesi anche all'istallazione del vaso terra. "Dual" is the first system that allows to adapt the fixing dimentions for the wall-hung toilet (EN38) also to the back to wall installation

Sintesi tra classico e contemporaneo, tra linee morbide e segni decisi, la collezione Jazz interpreta sanitari e lavabi d’arredamento che occupano lo spazio abitativo occhieggiando agli elementi degli anni ’60 - il lavabo a colonna - ai tagli diamante dell’art decó, alla leggerezza minimal dei sanitari sospesi di ultima generazione. Fortemente contrastati dalle ombre dei tagli e dai bianchi e neri, gli elementi e gli ambienti rimandano alle atmosfere evocate. Con questo fortunato mix, Artceram propone una visione contemporanea del bagno, ricca di stratificazioni e molteplicitá. La collezione comprende elementi in ceramica il lavabo colonna in due misure (60 e 70 cm), il lavabo da appoggio, i sanitari sia sospesi che a terra, il vaso monoblocco. Il lavabo centro stanza é in Livingtec. La serie si arricchisce ulterirmente con gli ultimi arrivati: il lavabo sospeso 70, la consolle con gambe in ceramica e le nuove consolle in due misure (74 e 100 cm) con stuttura cromata.

A compendium of the traditional and the contemporary, soft lines and strong signs: the Jazz collection interprets sanitaryware and washbasins with an eye on the Sixties - the column washbasin - the diamond shapes of art deco, the minimal lightness of last generation suspended sanitaryware. The elements and ambients are filled with references to the atmospheres evoked, strongly contrasted by the shadows of the shapes and the blacks / whites. This exciting mixture makes it possible for Artceram to propose a contemporary vision of the bathroom which is multi-layered and filled with variety. The collection includes ceramic elements, a column washbasin in two sizes (60 and 70 cm), a countertop washbasin, wall-hung and back to wall sanitaryware, a close-coupled wc and freestanding washbasin in Livingtec. The series is further enriched with the latest arrivals: a wall-hung washbasin 70, a consolle with ceramic legs and the new consolle in two sizes (74 and 100 cm) with chromed structures.

La Fontana si pone all’interno del suo settore merceologico come un sistema/prodotto in grado di arredare in modo autonomo l’ambiente bagno; é un piccolo sistema/bagno che include al suo interno tutto quello che di solito viene fornito da oggetti diversi: il lavabo, la luce, lo specchio e l’armadietto. L’innovazione estetica e funzionale é il focus del progetto, insieme alla volontá di fornire un sistema autosufficiente, adatto sia per lo spazio pubblico che privato, libero dagli stereotipi del classico arredo bagno contemporaneo.

La Fontana is a complete contained space bathroom system which includes in itself all that is usually made of four distinct items. It consists of washbasin, lighting, mirror and cabinet. Una collezione completa di lavabi e sanitari animati da una fascia in ceramica che avvolge le superfici. Un prodotto contemporaneamente dinamico e rilassante, femminile e maschile, freddo e caldo come l’acqua che scorre. Blend é una fascia di 4 centimetri che descrive la mappa superiore e divide due elementi distinti del sanitario: il catino e le fiancate. Un movimento sinuoso che nasce e muore a parete e accoglie al proprio interno il catino e il piano della rubinetteria, uniti da una superficie continua ed armonica. Le fiancate sono composte da superfici morbide ed avvolgenti che delimitano il sanitario seguendo il movimento della fascia superiore. Le superfici dolci delle fiancate vengono segnate da un taglio deciso nella parte inferiore, che conferisce vigore e mascolinitá al prodotto e nel contempo lo alleggerisce e lo slancia.

Blend sanitaryware range is designed to be soft and light, shaped on the human body: is dynamic and relaxing, feminine and masculine at the same time, cold and hot like water flowing. Blend: “A surface added to two or more other surfaces to provide a continuous join between them”. The icon that best represents the blend project is the 4 centimeter band that describes the upper map and splits two distinct elements of the fixture: the bowl and the sides. A sinuous movement beginning and ending at the wall and enclosing the bowl and the taps and fittings, “blended” by an unbroken, harmonious surface. The sides are gently curving and enveloping surfaces that delimit the fixture, following the rhythm set by the upper band.

La collezione Postit é caratterizzata dal materiale, la ceramica, e dal mimentismo delle linee con le pareti: una parte dell’accessorio sembra infatti scomparire nel muro lasciando la sensazione che sia incassata al suo interno. Gli accessori non sono piú oramai un semplice complemento “accessorio” da aggiungere alla fine, ma sempre piú sono parte integrante del progetto, inglobati perfettamente con la struttura architettonica del bagno. Postit si integra perfettamente con l’architettura della stanza, diventandone estensione nello spazio, ma contemporaneamente si monta come un normale accessorio senza interventi nella struttura muraria. Inoltre é una linea finalmente realizzata in ceramica, cioé con lo stesso materiale comunemente utilizzato per gli altri elementi di arredo bagno.

The collection is characterized by material, ceramics, and mimecry line with the wall: one part accessory seems to disappear into the wall leaving the impression that it is recessed inside. The accessories are not now a simple addition “incidental” to be added at the end, but more and more are part of the project, incorporated seamlessly with the architectural structure of the bath. Postit integrates perfectly with the architecture of the room, becoming spatial extent, but at the same mount as a standard accessory structure without walls. Moreover, it is finally a line of ceramic, in with the same material commonly used for other elements bathrooms.
