Entries must have been completed within the last 3 years of entry and must not have been previously exhibited at the fair. Entries are limited to 22” X 36” canvas is acceptable. All artwork must be dry at the time of entry. The Columbia County Fair is not responsible for any exhibits broken or damaged during the fair. Drawings without hanging devices will be stapled, or taped to display. Framed or Glass Framed entries without a proper hanging device will not be accepted. No more than 6 entries per exhibitor and no more than 1 entry in each class per exhibitor. Since the fair is family oriented, all entries must be in good taste. Nudes/Nudity and/or Violence will not be accepted. ● All awards given at the Judges’ discretion. General Information: ● Entries will be accepted only on Sunday 7/11 from 11am to 3pm and on Monday 7/12 from 12:00 to 8:00p.m. ● Exhibits may be disqualified if rules are not followed. ● Entries will be released after 5:30p.m on Sunday July 18th. ● 2020 Fair Theme: FROM WAGON WHEELS TO FERRIS WHEELS Entries Allowed: ● Total Amount of entries allowed is 18 per person ● Entries are limited to no more than 2 per exhibitor in each Division, 1 per class. ● Each entry must be titled and the entrants name/address/phone number must be written on the back ONLY. If personal information is on the front, the photograph will be disqualified. ● Entries cannot be a picture of a picture. The Exhibitor must have taken the actual picture. Prints: ● Photography entries must be mounted (matted) on standard mount material. ● NO FRAMED PHOTOGRAPHS WILL BE ACCEPTED. ● Matt and Foam Boards must be BLACK and 2” in width. Foam Boards MUST BE CLEAN CUT! Adults/Teens/Professional: ● Entries are to be a MINIMUM of 8 X 10 or an oval print of 9 ½ X 12”, equaling 80 square inches. ● Entries can be a MAXIMUM of 16X20. Youth/Preschool: ● Children may enter prints with a MINIMUM print size of 4 X 6 and may NOT exceed 8 X 10. Entries NOT ALLOWED: ● Images previously entered in the Columbia County Fair and Rodeo will not be accepted. ● No TWO entries shall be of the same subject. ● Any entry that has been reproduced from an existing photograph, portrait, graphic, or any other artwork produced by another person is a violation of the Fair rules and will not be judged, accepted, or displayed. If any entry, in the good-faith opinion of the jury panel (Fair Board) violates copyright, trademark or another other applicable law, that entry shall be disqualified. ● The Fair is a family-oriented event; all entries must be in good taste.

Baked Goods & Table Setting THERE WILL BE NO BAKED GOODS DISPLAYS THIS YEAR

TABLE SETTINGS GENERAL INFORMATION: ● Entries will be shown for all 5 days of the Fair. ● Tables may be set up on Monday, July 12th from 1p.m-7p.m. only. ● Entries will be released AFTER 5:30p.m. and before 7p.m. on Sunday, July 18, 2021. ● Entries are limited to Columbia County Residents only. ● Table Setting entries will be judged Tuesday, July 13th, 2021. ● Entrants will supply their own table for the display, standard size of 34” X 34” will be used. ● No food permitted on table, with the exception of non-perishable fruits, vegetables, or other food items. ● No purchased disposable paper or plastic plates, cups or flatware is permitted in the table. ● Linen, China, Glassware, Flatware, and other accessories should be marked with the owner’s name, but markings will not show when the accessories are in place. ● Reasonable precaution will be taken to ensure the safety of the exhibits by the exhibitor, the Fair Board assumes no responsibility for lost or damaged items. ● Any tableware used on an award-winning table may not be used again for 2 years. ● Limit of 1 entry per exhibitor ● The menu and the table setting must be written on a card left for display on the table to help the judge in the correctness of the setting. ● The Entertainment of “Joy of Cooking” by Rombauer & Becker, and “Standard of Entertaining in the West!” are suggested references for Table Decoration. ● Please be sure that each entry is a SINGLE PLACE SETTING ONLY. ● 2020 Fair Theme: FROM WAGON WHEELS TO FERRIS WHEELS Table Setting Scorecard: ★ Beauty of Design and Correctness ★ Color Harmony and Appropriateness ★ Originality

★ If you have multiple entries, please pick up or download an entry form at the Fair Office or online at www.columbiacountyeventcomplex.com and fill them out at home. ★ PLEASE COME EARLY IF YOU HAVE A LOT OF ENTRIES. ★ NO ENTRIES WILL BE ACCEPTED AFTER 11a.m. TUESDAY JULY 13th. ★ Judging will be done Tuesday, July 13th at 2p.m. ★ No entry shall be of such size or be divided for judging. ★ Classes with few entries may be combined if necessary. ★ Potted plants must be grown by exhibitor at least 3 months prior to Fair. ★ State Conservation laws must be observed. NO NOXIOUS WEEDS ALLOWED. ★ Space for non -competitive displays must be reserved no later than July 9, 2021 ★ Non-Conforming entries will be disqualified. ★ Artistic Arrangements (no plastic flowers/plant material!) ★ Fresh flowers need to be PROPERLY CONDITIONED to last the length of the show/fair. ★ Please De-Bud all entries if possible ★ Fair Theme: FROM WAGON WHEELS TO FERRIS WHEELS FLOWER HINTS: ● Cut your flowers late in the afternoon the day before they are exhibited. Immediately place in deep lukewarm water treated with floral preserved, keeping out of drafts and dark places. ● Select material in its prime, pest-free, cutting stem as long as possible. Specimens should be as uniform in size and quality as possible. ● Foliage and stems count in judging as well as blossoms. Groom plants well. Foliage should not extend into water. ● Remove all wilted flowers at check-in. Do not remove stamens from lilies. ● Flowers must carry own attached foliage. All stems should be on proportion to flowers. Container should be in proportion to flowers. ● Unless otherwise specified, when more than 1 spray/stem is required by an exhibit, the exhibit shall have all the same variety/color. ● Flower shows are meant to be educational as well as beautiful. Please NAME VARIETIES if possible, it increases the value of the exhibit and adds points. HORTICULTURE DIVISION RULES: ● Flowers in Divisions 1-16 MUST BE GROWN BY EXHIBITOR ● Container/Vases Provided. ● Locally grown plants only. ❖ Judging is based on creativity, uniqueness, artistic arrangement and quality of produce used Grange Booth Display Requirements: ● Granges wanting to enter a booth are requested to notify the Fair Office no later than 20 days prior to Fair Opening. ● Booths are to be completed by MONDAY, July 12, 2021 - end of day. ● Groups may start setting up on SATURDAY, July 10, 2021. ● The display must showcase Fair Theme, FROM WAGON WHEELS TO FERRIS WHEELS, in some way. ● Furthermore, the display must represent the community by way of crops, products, community activities or way of life. ● Artificial produce is highly discouraged, but if used, please follow fire codes. ● Due to growing season, products are not required to be groan by the group. However, if products start to spoil please replace them for the enjoyability of the Fair attendees. ● Granges having shown at previous Fair have priority, with spaces thereafter allocated on the basis of earliest entries received. ● Display must be a completely new design than previous years. ● No commercially labeled products will be permitted. ● All displays must be removed at the close of Fair, Monday July 19, 2021. Timely cleanup, including the removal of tape, staples, and debris is expected.
