Art Activity Easy and Intermediate
Fun things to make and do with paper No.2 (Card making- Ripping, curling, making textures.)
All you need is coloured paper, glue, scissors and/or a craft knife and a pencil.
Tips
• If you do not have any glue at home, you can use the white of an egg instead of glue.
• If you don’t have a paintbrush to spread the egg white, you can use a piece of stiff cardboard
instead.
Paste/glue 2 sheets of
different coloured paper
together.
Fold in half to make a card. Push the pencil from the
back to the front of the card.
Grip the paper and pull downwards, stop before you
reach the bottom of your card. Try curling the paper back
with a pencil.
Push the pencil through and
leave it to look like a bullet
hole!
Why not try different patterns and
colours.
You could just have fun pushing a pencil through and listening to the sounds it makes and enjoy the lovely textures,
patterns and colours you make.

Art Activity Intermediate and Challenging
Fun things to make and do with paper No.2 (Card making- Weaving/Slit and Slot)
All you need is coloured paper, glue, a pencil, scissors or a craft knife.
Tips
• If you do not have any glue at home, you can use the white of an egg instead of glue.
• If you don’t have a paintbrush to spread the egg white, you can use a piece of
• stiff cardboard instead.
• Add sellotape to one end of strip to make it easier to push the paper through the slit.
Fold your
paper/card in half
to make a card.
Intermediate: Draw 4 lines.
Challenging: draw 8 lines
Leave a boarder of at least 2.5cm all-round the card. Cut
along the lines with a craft knife or scissors. Ask for help
with this.
Look around
your house
for some
interesting
paper.
Cut the paper into strips,
some thin some thicker.
Intermediate level: best to
use thicker strips and stick
sellotape on one end of
each strip.
Push the paper through
a slit at one side from
the back of the card.
Work the paper in
and out of the slits. Cut off the excess strip and glue it down.
Push the next strip through from the front of the
card. Alternate pushing strips through from back
and front of card. Glue all the ends down.
Try using different
coloured card and
different
patterned paper.
You could try
weaving through
some ribbon or
wool too.
