Three local residents areartistic and musical examples of the
importance of lifelong learning in thearts.
Bennie Brewer McDonald, who took her first art lesson fouryears ago at age 91, loves to paintand plans to keep painting as longas she can. She has brought herwork into ARRACs Gallery to sell, and to inspire us with her passion forpaint.
Mary Wolfe, an ARRACBluegrass jammer, took up the
violin when she retired. She relayedthat it was difficult to find a teacherwho would take her on, but she
finally found an instructor with whom shestudied for three months. Everything Ivelearned, since then, has come fromplaying together with other people.

why we are here to enhance community life through a supportive artsenvironment.

Pump the TumpPromoting businesses in Wetumpka is the goal of the Pumpthe Tump campaign. Last week we saw our numbers jumpsubstantially on the social media Facebook, due largely in partto this campaign. The concept is simple: One business helpspromote another. All of Wetumpka benefits if we help eachother.
How do we do this? When you havean opportunity to say show apprec-iation for another business here inthe river regionjust do it! On line,on Facebook, it is easy to say some-thing positive.
ARRAC wants to make a differenceIn our community.
Julie Andrews sang, Feed the Birds, in the Sound of Music .

Genie Kline , ARRAC member and HSECthrift store volunteer thought some of ourartists could decorate and paint them sothey would be extra special to auction attheir Bone-a-fit silent auction, July 29 th.
Plain, hand-made bird houses are awaitingyour artistic touch. You may pick one up atthe ARRAC. Try to get it done and back to theARRAC as soon as possible as they are photo-graphing and listing all of their silent auctionofferings online. (Free advertising of yourtalents.) All proceeds will go to the HSEC.We will link the pictures of the bird housesto our web site and Facebook page.
The HSEC also will be allowing us to set upa table to distribute Classes & Workshopinformation at their Annual Bark in the Park,Sept 25 th. Watch for more information aswe make plans.
