Once upon a time, Jules Verne told the story of P. Fogg, a man who decided to do what others thought was impossible: to go around the world in 80 days.

He almost missed the deadline, because of bad scheduling. And poor planning in general. And bad stakeholder management. And horrible risk management. And despicably low levels of control. And for doing almost everything wrong.

So, Phileas’ trip around the world in 80 days was a miracle, not because of the tight deadline, but because he really only made it by chance.

Or maybe not?
