The ASV SolutionWith the changing nature o war are andthe elevation in asymmetric con icts, extreme survivability, mobility, anddeployability are paramount. Textrons

ASV flls the capability gap that existedbetween larger armored systems andsmaller bolt-on armor type o vehicles. The ASV provides the required mixo protection rom small arms freand mines, as well as quick insertioncapability and maneuverability in urbanareas. The ASV is now recognizedas one o the best-in-class wheeledarmored combat vehicles.

Advanced SurvivabilityEnhanced ballistic protection withIBDs Modular Expandable ArmorSystem (MEXAS) provides 360-degreeprotection against direct and indirect

weapons, mines, and improvisedexplosive devices (IEDs).

Because the armor is designed to bolton, additional protection can be addeddepending on the level o ballisticde ense required. Special run- at tireswith central tire in ation o er the crewadded essential mobility under fre.

    When aced with nuclear, biological

and chemical threats, ASVs gasparticulate air fltration system, used in tandem with aventilated acepiece,o ers additionalprotection. Withmore than six yearso continuous combatexperience, the ASVhas demonstratedu n p a r a l l e l e dprotection or crewmembers not oundin other vehicles othis class. While othervehicles may protectthe crew, they canalso be disabled; the

ASV not only protectsthe crew but allowssuccess ul completiono the mission.

Superior MobilityTo maximize crew e ectiveness, the

ASV provides superior ride qualityon highways and o -road terrain. The ASV travels at highway speedsover 60 mph while o ering excellenthandling, ride quality and mobility, based upon independent suspensionwith unmatched range o well over 440miles on a basic load o uel. Its o -roadper ormance includes the capability toord water depths o fve eet, climbgradients o 60 percent, and overcomevertical obstacles two eet high.

Selectable Firepower ASV is equipped with the dependablefrepower o the Cadillac Gage-developed 40mm/.50 caliber upgunnedweapon station, battle-proven bythe U.S. Army in Operation EnduringFreedom and Operation Iraqi Freedom.Combat experience has shown thesurvivability advantages o turrets with

their inherent capability to reloadunder armor or both weaponswhile in contact with the

    protection. Theincreased

survivability coupled with M36 E3 day/ night sight and 360-degree vision blocks provides outstanding lethality andprotection on the non-linear battlefeld otoday and the uture.

Excellent DeployabilityThe turrets at hatch reduces thesilhouette o the vehicle, providing theoccupants with greater protection, whileenabling C-130 compatibility. The ASV isthe only combat vehicle that can roll onand roll o combat loaded with lessthan 20 minutes o preparation. As manyas six ASVs ft into a C-17.

Maximum Crew E fciencyThe ASV eatures interior climate control, acoustics enhancements or reducednoise, and independent suspension undereach wheel to maximize crew readinessand enhance mission e ectiveness. Thecommander, driver and crew stations allaccommodate 5th percentile emale to95th percentile male occupants.
