Within thevillage is the Ardvasar Hotel datingfrom the 19th Century and alsothe famous Armadale Castle withis gardens and museums, set inthe heart of a 20.000 acrehighland estate.

The island is a popular touristdestination for those wishing toexplore the southern peninsula –the ‘Garden of Skye’ - and serveswell for lovers of wildlife, history,geology, hillwalking, and variousother outdoor activities. One ofSyke’s most famous landmarks arethe Cuillin hills which offers peaksvisible from all over the island, andis one of the most impressive siteswithin Scotland. With 20 Munrosin both the Red and Black Cuillin,they are well renowned by walkersand climbers. Restaurants, cafes,shops, and visitors centres are alsoclose at hand.

DirectionsBy road: After crossing the Skye Bridge from Kyle of Lochalsh, from Broadford, take the A851sign-posted for Armadale & Mallaig Ferry. Once in Armadale the hostel is on the left-handside, just past the Castle Gardens.

By ferry: Take the 30-minute ferry crossing from Mallaig to Armadale. Once in Armadalefollow road away from the Pier. The hostel is a 5 minute walk and is well signed all the way.For ferry timetables visit www.calmac.co.uk or call 08000 66 5000.
