We welcome actor, singer, educator and member of the Arm in Arm in Africa board of directors, T Mychael Rambo to inspire today's Gym liturgies with his music. Thank you as always!

Today, Maddie Lenarz-Hooymam, from Youth Frontiers talks to us about bullying and the importance of kindness and empathy. All are welcome at our Masses designed for children and their families! The Sunday Morning Registration and Information Office is located in the Parish Center. In the office you may register to become a SJA parishioner, get program information, sign up for a program, and register to volunteer. The office is open after both of our Sunday morning liturgies.

Cabaret, Advent, Christmas, Lent and Easter - the seasons of our SJA Church year – are each unique but they all share one thing - people coming together to rejoice and have fun.

The Cabaret season is just about over with nothing left but to count up the receipts, debrief and start planning for next year. I heard the possible theme next year is How Much is that Doggie in the Window? - songs with “windows” in them. (Just kidding.)

I am afraid to start thanking people for this year’s Cabaret for fear of leaving someone out. Certainly thanks go to chairpersons, Paul and Lynne Hempe; the three musical Johnnies - George Maurer, Tommy Barbarella and Dan Chouinard; SJA’s own Anna Vagle; the large number of musicians who appear at Cabaret every year, especially the SJA musicians; Todd Delabroux for his Cabaret artwork; Jeff and Rita Nohner for a great video; hundreds of SJA volunteers; the SJA staff, especially the maintenance staff. If we had to pay all these people I’ve mentioned their real worth, we’d be broke. Instead, thanks to your support, this is our biggest fund raiser of the year. Special kudos to the committee that took the risk and planned a Sunday show. Last minute sales brought out a very large crowd. Thank you, thank you all!

Last Sunday the children at Family Mass embarked on a new project. For years the Finance Committee has looked for ways to instill a sense of stewardship in our youngest members. They have many possibilities for contributing time and talent but what about treasure? Last year we tried personal envelopes but only a couple of families took them. Like adults, boilers provide very little glamour to children, but, then again, a few had never thought about the fact they pay my salary.

So this year, to make giving more concrete and even fun, we decided that the children’s col-lection would be used for the Heifer Fund (http://www.heifer.org) to help subsistence farmers around the world. The money our SJA children raise could buy farm animals - from chicks to water buffaloes. Maybe we can raise enough between now and Easter ($5000.00), to buy an ark for two of each of the animals the Heifer Project has to offer. Almost all the envelopes were taken last Sunday. Good luck, kids. We will not record the envelopes individually but we will count them separately from the general collection and regularly report to the kids so they can keep track of their progress.

We are nearing the end of the Church year. Next week is the feast of Christ the King, the last Sunday of this Church year. Then comes the first Sunday of Advent. Our liturgical imagina-tion sees the completion of the kingdom with Christ in power and then we start again - the journey into kingdom with the call of John the Baptist.

Today’s readings warn of an end that could creep up on us. Be careful.

a service to members of the parish community. Because of the large number of weddings, it is not possible to provide the services of a Presider or our facilities for people who are not registered parishioners. For a wedding to take place at SJA, it is necessary that one of the engaged couple be

a registered member of the parish for at least six months before a wedding date can be set. A date can only be scheduled by one of the priests after an initial interview with the engaged couple. A minimum of six months from the time the date is set to the wed-ding is necessary in order to complete requirements. In cases where there has been a previous marriage ending in divorce, it is not possible to set the wedding date until notice of an annulment is in hand. FFI call Mary Ann at the Parish Center.

press our financial commitment to the sixteen year mission of Arm In Arm In Africa, one of our Sustaining Partners. At our weekend Masses, I will be providing an overview of our ongoing ministries and updating you with some of our more urgent challenges. There will be a second collection to support our ministry. Your donation to Arm In Arm In Africa, a 501(C)3, is completely tax deductible. You can donate by a check to AIAIA, or online at www.aiaia.org. Your continued financial support and friendship will empower us to remain "Arm In Arm" to a more compassionate world. I want to personally thank you for choosing Arm In Arm In Africa as one of your end of the year charitable contributions. ~Gratefully, Fr. James Cassidy
