My dear Brothers in Islam

Subject:

The letter of appeal for financial assistance 2.6 million Sri Lankan rupees

for surgery for Scoliosis F.M. Arkam aged 16 years old.

His case warrants immediate surgery. This is a disease effecting the spinal

column which starts slanting progressively to one side constricting his lungs

causing breathing difficulty. Despite his wearing a specially made jacket as

recommended by the specialist Dr. Wasantha Perera (one and only doctor for

this disease in Sri Lanka) for last four months tilting has increased by 80

from

to 460. Before further deterioration we are asked by Dr. K. Sridhar of Global

Health City of Chennai, India to take immediate steps to undergo the surgery to

prop up the spinal column. The approximate cost of the surgery only will be

around 1.1 million Indian rupees. (2.6 million Sri Lanka rupees)

We are in a position to meet the pre-operative and post-operative expenses but

the cost of the surgery is beyond our means. Attached herewith you find the

letter of estimate for this surgery from Global Health City.

This is our humble appeal on behalf of our son Arkam seeking your

contribution In the name of Allah towards this fund for which we have opened

an account in the Bank of Ceylon , Mawanella branch.
