1. INTRODUCTION
An organisation is a planned, coordinated and purposeful action of human
beings to achieve certain specific goals through division of labour and hierarchy
of authority.
An organisational study is the systematic study about how people - as
individuals and as groups - act within organisations. It involvesthe study of the
structure and functions of different departments. Almost all the organisationsaredifferent but they have certain common features. All are collection of people,
linked together by formal andinformal relationships. They have hierarchical
orders that are engaged in co-operative activities and they allhave identical
boundaries. So the study of people in organisation is important for future
managers.
Structure of an organisation is very important for its functioning and growth. It
provides the basic frame work for its progress and expansion. For the future
managers it is very important to study the organisational structure and
functioning of a successful organisation so that, as future managers, they may
guide their organisations towards achieving their company goals.

2.INDUSTRY PROFILE
Footwear is no longer just a necessity, but also something that is a fashionstatement. In the present days of high fashion and beauty awareness, a person'simage is defined by the kind of clothes and shoes he/she wears.
Footwear industry is one of the fastest growing industries in the UnionTerritory. The leather industry is a good industry to promote for a number of reasons: it is to a great extent a small-scale industry with considerableemployment potential although it has become much more capital intensive over time. Another major advantage of the leather industry is that it is a major exportearner. Though Pondicherry does not need to promote export activity as such, export markets provide another base for the growth of indigenous industry. Here, the rest of India also offers a large market. The focus will have to be,however, on value addition and not on tanning. As it is an export-orientedindustry, it will have to meet international standards. Another dimension to thisis marketing. In order to capture an increasing share of the market, the leather industry with the help of the government will have to spend considerable effortin promoting leather products so as to compete with goods produced in other countries.
Salary
The growth of the industry has increased the scope for jobs and, consequently, salary. One can expect a starting salary of around Rs. 10,000-12,000 per month.International players offer between Rs. 15,000-20,000 per month. Entrepreneursin this field can get more income depending upon the size of their business.
With India poised to play a key role in global trade and exports, the footwear industry will need a very large manpower. One should be able to work for longhours and meet deadlines. Knowledge of science and an aptitude for workingwith machinery is a must for managers and supervisors.
Research
Marketing is one that differentiates one footwear manufacturer from countlessothers. It involves researching the market, working with advertising agencies toadvertise footwear collections and mapping out strategies for selling footwear inthe discerning domestic market as well as the expanding export market.

Store
Once the stock is stored in the market Goods received note is raised by
the store department in the firm. The material is checked by the store keeper and
production manager. If they approve the material is taken for the production. In
case there is a rejection company sends back and gets replacement. The
expenses will be bored by the dealer himself. If lack of materials arises the
company will go for alternative suppliers.
If only the company receives the raw material, they will make the
payments. Without the material requisition the manager wont buy anything. He
has the direct contact with the suppliers. He has got the power to decide
anything about the purchase. Reduction and discount is there for the raw
materials. Payment is the important aspect of production department.

OPPORTUNITIES: -
Abundant scope to supply finished leather to multinationals setting upshop in India.
Growing fashion consciousness globally. Use of information technology and decision support software to help
eliminate the length of the production cycle for different products Product diversification - There is lot of scope for diversification into
other products, namely, leather garments, goods etc. Growing international and domestic markets. Exposure to newer markets through Fairs/ BSMs Retain customers through quality supplies and timely deliveries Aim to present the customer with new designs, infrastructure, country&

SUGGESTIONS
I suggest the following, for the company to shine in more prospective
way, if considered to be necessary.
The company management should find out the remaining 12% of the
labours queries which causes them that they are in the level of
dissatisfaction.
This can be done by appointing a companys personal officer or the
immediate supervisor as the counsellor between the Top level
management and the Bottom level management, so that he can act as a
friend between the labours and the management.
I would also suggest that, to change the inner looks of the company
for the better lighting facilities and proper flooring.
The labours should also be given continuous feedback regarding their
work, whether positive or negative which can improve the level of their
efficiency.
Another suggestion is to avoid the job working, if the buys more
machineries, it will make them more profitable.

CONCLUSION
The organisational study in Josco helps me to know about what all are
the various departments functioning in an organisation. Josco are producing
good quality slippers of different styles and ranges for people to consume it.
They perfectly matc h their slogan WALK WITH PRIDE AND HARD
WORKING CHAPPALS FOR HARD WORKING FEET. Through my I
analysed that all the departments in the company are functioning properly.
Before I conclude I wish to convey my thankfulness in regard to training
given to me in puducherry. It gave extreme practical knowledge of different
activities carried out in each and every department. The kindness, attention and
immense cooperation extend to me by all the officials in the company made my
training easy and comfortable.
MY EXPERIENCE
The study helped me to understand that how the company identifies the right
taste of the consumers and how it became the leading brand in south India. I
was also able to understand some of the opportunities and threats of the
company. Being a student of MBA, the internship entitled An organizational
study at josco polymers Pvt. Ltd. has benefited me with so much of confidence
and awareness, so as to be capable of myself to work in a firm. The study gave
me an opportunity to experience and improves my practical knowledge besides
