ARITST TRADING CARDS
ATC
• Artist Trading Cards (ATCs) are miniature works of art, usually done on card stock, that are traded between artists. They can be about anything and made with any media, materials, or techniques. They can be produced as one-of-a-kind originals, in limited editions, or in a series based on a particular theme or subject. It’s all up to the individual artist. The rules for ATCs are simple.
• Many artists who make ATCs use the Internet to display their cards and to locate others willing to trade cards by mail or to share ideas. However, organized face-to-face ATC sessions are, by far, the preferred means of meeting other artists and trading cards. Today, you will find ATC swap sessions happening in most
major cities around the world.
Collage:is a technique of art production, primarily used in the visual arts, where the artwork is made from an assemblage of different forms, thus creating a new whole.A
collage may sometimes include newspaper clippings, ribbons, bits of colored or handmade papers, portions of other artwork or texts, photographs and other found
objects, glued to a piece of paper or canvas.

• Tips: – Collect images and materials prior to applying them
to the surface of your card.– Start with ground (A ground is the surface on which you paint, usually a
coating over your original surface) to ensure that the whole surface ends up covered.
– Arrange the objects and test for different compositions. *Your first idea is not always your best idea!*
– Try adding more than one material to make your final work more interesting. Try using objects like string and fabric or other mediums like oil pastel and marker.
There is no right way to do this. Your final card is completely based on your ideas and your aesthetic.
