MORE INFORMATION ON ARTISTS & RELEASES (In alphabetic order)

AC/DC – Plug Me In (Music DVD) Release Date: 20/10/07 Certified: 4 x Platinum No.1 Music DVD for five weeks from its 29 October debut through the chart of 26 November 2007 They may not live here anymore but AC/DC were the first band ever inducted into the ARIA Hall Of Fame (in 1988) and that’s good enough for me… This is their second ARIA No.1 Award – they picked one up two years ago for their DVD Family Jewels which hit the top in 2005. Plug me In is their fourth No.1 on the seven year old ARIA Music DVD chart following No Bull Live - Plaza De Toros in 2001, Live At Donington in 2004 and Family Jewels in 2005 . CROWDED HOUSE – Time on Earth (Album) Release Date: 30/06/07 Certified: Platinum No.1 for the week of 16 July 2007 They’ve been away for more than a decade but that hasn’t dimmed the Australian public’s love for this band. Time On Earth is the fourth No.1 album for Crowded House who joined the exclusive club of acts that have had chart toppers in three decades (in their case the 80s with Crowded House and Temple Of Low Men, 90s with Recurring Dream and now the 00s). By the end of 2007 this album had spent 19 weeks in the chart and reached Platinum status. EVERMORE – Light Surrounding You (Single) Release Date: 14/10/06 No.1 for the week of 22 January 2007 Evermore’s first Australian No.1, this single entered the chart (at No.8) late in 2006 and reached the No.1 position in its 14th week in the chart. By the end of 2007 it had spent a total of 49 weeks in the top 100 (39 of them in 2007) including 15 weeks in the top 10 (9 of them in 2007). The single also garnered an ARIA Awards nomination in the category of Best Pop Release. DELTA GOODREM – Delta (Album) Release Date: 20/10/07 Certified: Triple Platinum No.1 on debut on the week of 29 October 2007 DELTA GOODREM – In This Life (Single) Release Date: 15/09/07 Certified: Platinum No.1 on debut on the week of 24 September 2007 Delta has received more of our ARIA No.1 Awards than anybody else. These are her 11th and 12th trinkets. The double Platinum Delta album follows awards for her two previous albums Innocent Eyes (2 awards in 2003 & 2004) and Mistaken Identity in the 2005 Awards event. As it was released toward the end of 2007, the album does not yet have a lengthy chart history but needless to say it had spent its first ten weeks on the chart (up to the end of 2007) in the top 10. In This Life is Delta’s eighth Australian No.1 single and as of this year’s event she will have eight ARIA No.1 Awards trophies to prove it. This platinum single spent nine weeks in the top 10 and ranked at No.15 in ARIA’s countdown of the best sellers of 2007. MISSY HIGGINS – On A Clear Night (Album) Release Date: 28/04/07 Certified: Triple Platinum No.1 on debut on the week of 7 May 2007

MISSY HIGGINS – Steer (Single) Release Date: 14/04/07 Certified: Gold No.1 on debut on the week of 23 April 2007 Missy is one of only two acts to have received ARIA No.1 Awards in all three categories (Singles, Albums & DVDs) (the other act is Kylie). On A Clear Night is Missy’s second No.1 album following The Sound Of White, which received its award in the fourth year of this event (2005). This triple platinum album was the top ranked Australian title in ARIA’s list of the best sellers of the 2007 calendar year, coming in at No.4. It also won Missy three nominations and the ARIA Award for Best Female Artist. Like her album, Steer was Missy’s second No.1 single. She had previously been rewarded for hitting the top with the Scar EP in 2004 . The Gold single was also one of the nominees at the ARIAs in the category of Highest Selling Single. HUMAN NATURE – Reach Out: Live At The Capitol Theatre (Music DVD) Release Date: 21/04/07 Certified: Platinum No.1 for the week of 14 may 2007 Last year Human Nature took their American Soul covers concept to the well twice and scored both times with both Reach Out… and Dancing In The Street… hitting the top of the ARIA Albums chart and being Awarded at last year’s ARIA No.1s event. This release provides a visual aspect to the concept and is their first No.1 on the ARIA Music DVD chart. JOHN BUTLER TRIO – Grand National (Album) Release Date: 24/03/07 Certified: Triple Platinum No.1 on debut on the week of 2 April 2007 This is the second ARIA No.1 Award for John Butler with Shannon Birchall and Michael Barker following Sunrise Over Sea, which hit No.1 in 2004 (the 3rd ARIA No.1 Awards). This triple Platinum album was one of the biggest successes of 2007. In addition to hitting No.1, it spent 14 weeks in the top 10 and all of its first 40 chart weeks within the top 30 (as at the end of 2007). It was also the recipient of three ARIA Award nominations of which it was the winner of two – Best Independent Release and Best Blues & Roots Release. It was ARIA’s seventh best selling album of the 2007 calendar year. DAMIEN LEITH – Where We Land (Album) Release Date: 18/08/07 Certified: Platinum No.1 on debut for the week of 27 August 2007 DAMIEN LEITH – The Winner’s Journey (Album) Release Date: 09/12/06 Certified: 4 x Platinum Awarded for two weeks at No.1 at last year’s ARIA No.1 Awards and qualified again for this year’s event with a further three weeks at the start of 2007 from 1 through 15 January 2007. Australian Idol winner Damien is the only artist to have had two No.1 albums during 2007. His first album, The Winner’s Journey was at No.1 for the last two weeks of the 2006 Awards eligibility period and continued for a further three weeks into 2007 which is why it is in this year’s list. With its quadruple platinum sales spanning 2006 and 2007 it won the ARIA Award for Highest Selling Album last year (2007) and came in at No.44 in ARIA’s recap of the biggest sellers of the 2007 calendar year. Selling marginally more during 2007 (it was No.39 for the year) was Damien’s Platinum second album Where We Land which hit the chart in August and remained in the top 60 through to the end of the year. KYLIE MINOGUE – 2 Hearts (Single) Release Date: 10/11/07 No.1 on debut for the week of 19 November 2007

KYLIE MINOGUE – X (Album) Release Date: 24/11/07 Certified: Platinum No.1 on debut for the week of 3 December 2007 Like Crowded House (reviewed above), Kylie’s No.1 hits span three decades and her total of ten No.1 singles is more than any other Female solo artist (one more than Madonna and two up on Delta). She’s also had more singles debut at No.1 on the ARIA Charts than any other act with seven in total. Charting for just the final two months of the year, 2 Hearts is her fourth single to be recognized at the ARIA No.1 Chart Awards. Kylie’s third ARIA No.1 album X only spent one month on the chart during 2007 (December) but that was enough for it to come in at No.49 on the tally of the year’s best sellers. Kylie received an ARIA No.1 Award (in absentia) for Fever at the Inaugural ARIA No.1 Awards event in 2002. POWDERFINGER – Dream Days At The Hotel Existence (Album) Release Date: 02/06/07 Certified: Triple Platinum No.1 on debut on the week of 11 June 2007 Another of the four local albums to make the top 10 of the ARIA best sellers of 2007, this triple Platinum album entered the chart at No.1 in June and remained in the top 50 for the remaining 30 weeks of the year with half of that time (15 weeks) spent in the top 10. Dream Days is the fourth ARIA No.1 album for Bernard and the band and their second to be presented with an ARIA No.1 Chart Award following Vulture Street, which was recognized at the second Awards ceremony in 2003. SILVERCHAIR – Straight Lines (Single) Release Date: 10/03/07 Certified: Double Platinum No.1 for four weeks (on debut) from 19 March through 9 April 2007 SILVERCHAIR – Young Modern (Album) Release Date: 31/03/07 Certified: Triple Platinum No.1 for four weeks (on debut) from 9 through 30 April 2007 Silverchair were one of the big winners at the 2007 ARIA Awards with five wins from their seven nominations - Single Of The Year and Highest Selling Single for the double Platinum Straight Lines single and Album Of The Year, Best Rock Release and Best Group for the triple Platinum Young Modern album. Straight Lines was also the top selling local release of the 2007 calendar year coming in at No.4 on ARIA’s list of 2007 hits. At the end of 2007 the single had returned to the top 40 having spent all of its 42 chart weeks to that point in the top 60 with 11 of them in the National top 10. When Young Modern hit No.1 in April it set Silverchair in a class apart… no other Australian band (not Crowded House, Powderfinger, Daddy Cool, Midnight Oil, The Seekers, Skyhooks, Sherbet, Men At Work, Cold Chisel, Human Nature, The Easybeats, You Am I or even INXS – and they’re ALL Legendary bands!) have had more than four Australian No.1 albums. Young Modern was Silverchair’s fifth Australian No.1 album. Befitting the occasion, it has gone on to become one of the ten biggest selling albums in Australia of 2007 (it came in at No.9) having not dropped below No.53 in its 39 chart weeks up to the end of 2007. VERONICAS – Hook Me Up (Single) Release Date: 22/09/07 No.1 on the ARIA Singles chart dated 12 November 2007 This was the first Australian No.1 for Brisbane twins Lisa and Jess but it had been coming for some time. Their first release 4Ever hit No.2 in 2005 as have both of their albums The Secret Life Of… in 2006 and Hook Me Up in 2007. They have since had another single Untouched peak at No.2, so this probably won’t be the last time that we honour them in this arena. Hook Me Up had a steady if less than spectacular start to its chart life, spending its first six weeks on the chart oscillating between numbers 5 and 4 before leaping to No.1 in its seventh week. In all it spent 10 weeks in the top 10 and at the end of the year was still sitting comfortably in the top 20.
