    States cannot control their economies

    ARGUMENTS AGAINST GLOBALIZATION

    1. National governments seem to be powerless in the face ofglobal trends. Hence, the theory seem to makeglobalization more unique than it really is (history)

    2. Effects of globalization are uneven: it is strong in one partof the world but weak in others.

    3. It is the latest stage of Western Imperialism: no voice ofnon-Western values in the global world, globalization isthe triumph of Western world view

    4. It is exploitative: less developed countries are forced toopen their economy whereas all conditions (technologies,

policies, rules, etc.) benefit the richest countries, allowingtheir interests to override marginalized countries ones5. Not all globalizing forces are good (e.g. drug cartels and

terrorists): states are essential in raising censorship andpreventing access to certain kinds of materials
