Home schooled versus Small school
A public or private school will give students a better social experience because of larger
classes and more chances to make friends. Catherine Clover, a student from North Muskegon
Public schools, has moved many times and has experienced both public school and home
school. “If your home schooled, you can’t go anywhere or make as many friends” says
Catherine. This explains why she enjoys the current public school she goes to now, it gives her
opportunities to make friends and have better social relationships for when she is an
adult(CatherineClover.PersonalInterview.5november2013). The average amount of public
school students, using 3 common public schools, in Muskegon County is about 1640 students
(greatschools.org.GreatSchools.30October2013). This means that these students have an
average class size, and they can easily make friends. Although if you prefer a smaller school
experience three common private schools in Muskegon County have an average amount of 76
students (privateschoolreveiw.org.30October2013). Sending your student to a private school
can give you smaller classes, thus giving them an easier environment to focus. To sum it up,
sending your child to a private or public school rather than home school will give your child a
better social life.
